Chicken Tonight?
Ever since going to Lake Havasu City with Len and Rose, we have been thinking about a little place there called Scotty's Chicken and Ribs.  While we were in Quartzsite, we went back to Lake Havasu City sightseeing, and stopped at Scotty's to eat.  Their chicken and Ribs were "out of this world" good.  We kind of knew we would try to go back and eat again.
We promised my sister Marge that we would call George and Pat Terry while we were here. (Earp, CA near Parker Dam, AZ)  We called, and after stopping to visit them for a couple of hours we headed toward home, and while leaving their sub-division, Sharon suggested that we go up to LHC and pick up Scotty's chicken and bring it home for supper.  I agreed and we headed North the 20 miles to LHC. Our campground was 17 miles South.  We arrived in LHC at 5 o'clock and the place was packed.  After about 5 minutes the cashier informed us that it would take about 45 minutes to get food if we hadn't ordered yet. Hell, we still had a 45 minute drive to get home to eat the chicken.  We decided to find something else to eat that night and settled on McDonald's Quarter Pounders.  Sometimes there's no accounting for stupidity.  57 miles seems like a long way to drive for Quarter-Pounders.
Margaritaville
When we first entered the Catalina Spa campground at Desert Hot Springs, California we encountered a guy backing in a 5th wheel with a Packer emblem on the front of his trailer.
After talking to him a few minutes he invited us over for a Margarita Party a little later.  He said, "You won't believe how the Margaritas will be made."  So we went back later to find him making Margaritas with his unusual, to say the least, blender.  It was a kid's chair with handlebars coming up the back where the seatback would normally fasten, a blender mounted on top, and a small gas engine mounted underneath.
When it was time to mix, he'd fire up the little gas engine, and rev up the blender with the twist grip on the handlebars.  We found out later he was from St. Germain (Rhinelander) Wisconsin.  He drew a crowd and quite a few passing stares with that blender.

F.M.C.A . RALLY
We attended the Family Motor Coach Association Rally this month at the Pinal County Fairgrounds at Casa Grande, Arizona.  With us at the Rally were Len and Rose Schultz, our sometime travelling companions this year.  We had planned to attend prior to our leaving home last year.  We both had attended the Coast to Coast Rally last winter, in which Sharon and I were very disappointed.  This year the Rally itself was the not the problem as much as the location selected.
The Pinal County Fairgrounds was a very dusty place to have a Rally.  The dust is so fine that you feel like you're in a barrel of flour constantly.  We could TASTE it constantly along with a layer of dust on everything that you haven't used in the last 15 minutes.  The dogs walk around raising a cloud as they move.  And the windows in your coach must remain open because of the daytime heat.
The Rally however was worth attending, and Sharon and I had a very good time.  Partly I'm sure because we attended with Len and Rose.  The entertainment was first class, the meals (3) that they provided were very good, and served exceptionally fast for 2400 people.
Weather & Stuff
The weather so far this year has been fabulous, and because of that fact we have spent the better part of the last 3 weeks at the pools and hot tubs of our campgrounds.  A couple of Coast to Coast Resorts we visited in that period were exceptionally nice.
Catalina Spa and RV Resort
Desert Hot Springs, CA
The pools and hot tub at Catalina Spa are all heated with natural hot spring water.  We were treated first class at this resort and we enjoyed some of the entertainment that was also put on at the time we were there.
Colorado River Adventures
Earp, CA
This resort is located just across the river from Parker, Arizona.  It's a large resort, (800 sites) with a very nice pool and hot tub area.  All the resorts out here have gravel sites, but that seems to be the norm at all campgrounds west of El Paso.
The Resort (Sunscape RV Resort - Casa Grande, AZ) we're at right now is no slouch either.  The three resorts have beautiful buildings, friendly personnel and through Coast to Coast........reasonable rates........$6 per nite. ($11 @ Sunscape)
