Monday, December 25, 2017 MERRY CHRISTMAS
We enjoyed another Christmas with no gifts again this year.
Sharon was off to church with her sister this morning and I was just up and watching TV. The regular Fox and Friends was on this morning with different hosts. Steve, Brian and Ainsley were off today enjoying Christmas with their families.
We will be going to Charlie and Sandie’s today to eat Dinner with them about 1 PM. We will be having Ham, twice baked potatoes, Shoepeg corn and Brussel Sprouts. Sharon baked a Raspberry/Lemon Pie with a Graham Cracker Crust. Everything was very good and we even took some leftovers back home again.
We came back home and waited for the golf cart that would be arriving later on to take us around the park to see the Christmas lights. We waited patiently for dark but the ride never came. I guess the tour was off for the time being.
We sat and watched the Telly for the rest of the night. We didn’t have to force ourselves to watch Christmas shows tonight. We didn’t find any on tonight, and it was easy to find something else.
While we were “TV relaxing” tonight we texted The Mitchem’s to see if they wanted to go to Breakfast tomorrow. They said yes, so we’ve got a plan for tomorrow morning at least. We’ll pick them up at 9:30 and head off to Linda’s Place about a block and a half from here.
For the rest of the night we just relaxed in front of the idiot box until it was time to head off to the rack. That happened about 10:30 and we were both tired from a long day.

We were on our feet and moving this morning cause we were going to have my favorite meal over at Linda’s Place. Linda’s is a restaurant about two blocks from here.
We picked up Charlie and Sandie about 9:30 and headed over to the restaurant. It was quite crowded which is usually an indication that the food is good. And the food was very good even though the service was sporadic.
After Breakfast, we came back home and after Sharon took a short nap got busy making pasties for the 4 of us. Pasties are a mixture of Ground Meat, Potatoes and Onions and rolled up in dough crust and then baked in the oven. They taste wonderful with a buttery flavored crust. She also made 8 Apple Crescents for Dessert. Apple Crescents are slices of Apple rolled up in a crescent roll with a Caramel sauce poured over the top. Yum, Yum.
I watched TV while all this was going on around me. I was contributing my olfactory senses to say how good it all smelled. She was baking for most of the afternoon since the oven is so small it doesn’t hold multiple items at the same time.
We were planning on eating early this evening since Sharon and Sandie were planning on going to Bingo tonight. So they came over about 4:30 and we got down to eating our pasties and desserts.
As soon as we were done eating, the Mitchem’s left and went home. Sharon left also to pick up Sandie on their way to the clubhouse for Bingo.
When Sharon got back tonight she announced that she only won 5 bucks tonight. But at least she didn’t lose, which wouldn’t have mattered one way or another. She was mostly over there for entertainment anyway. We watched a little TV before we went to bed in our regular fashion. Me first, and her a half hour later. She needs to wait until her melatonin kicks in.

We were up and rarin’ to go early today. We would be going to Hella’s Restaurant in the Greek area of Tarpon Springs today. We left home before noon and were treated to a mini tour around town before we went to eat. We arrived at the restaurant just after noon and the streets were packed with tourists. The restaurant was also crowded but we managed to get seated right away. One of the waiters was easily the tallest person I’ve ever seen in real life. He must have been crowding the 7 foot level.
Sharon and I ordered Dolmades which is a Greek dish resembling Stuffed Cabbage Rolls, but instead of cabbage it was rolled in Grape Leaves. It also came with Rice and Spicy Green Beans, and had a Lemon Sauce poured over the top. Charlie and Sandie ordered Hamburgers and Fries.
By the time we got back home I was only interested in digesting my lunch and relaxing. And that’s exactly what I did. Later on, Sharon walked over to the clubhouse to play cards with Sandie’s group of ladies. When they were done, Sharon called me and I went over to Charlie and Sandie’s to say our good-byes. We were there for about an hour before we left and came home.
We watched a little tube before we finally headed off for the sleep chamber.

Since we got the phone call from my Brother Tom saying he wouldn’t be down in January, we have decided the go directly to Arcadia, Florida and stay on their site for the month. The site has been paid for already so it will basically be a free month for us except for electric. We were slated to go back to Clermont for four days an then on to Arcadia, but those plans have been altered.
So we left for Arcadia when we got on the road this morning and about 2 hours later we were driving through Arcadia. We hadn’t eaten much for Breakfast so we were looking for a fast-food place to have a burger to carry us over. We came upon a McDonald’s on the east side of town just before the campground. We stopped but we had to finagle our way around the Sav-a-Lot parking lot to get close enough.
After lunch we headed for Toby’s RV Resort which we found was about a mile down the road. It took a few minutes to check in with Angel and then we were off to set up.
We were set up for about an hour when Dave from next door stopped over and introduced himself. We spoke for about 15 minutes and then he left.
We spent most of the rest of the afternoon indoors and in the comfort of our coach. We watched a little TV and Sharon took a nap.
By Suppertime we decided that we would eat our leftovers from Hella’s Restaurant from Wednesday. Sharon whipped up a salad and we even had leftover dessert from Christmas Dinner.
We camped out in front of the TV for the rest of the night. It was relaxing just knowing we were settled for at least a month.

We had a plan this morning when we got up. We would drive into town and look for a little Café that was serving Breakfast and had a lot of cars in the parking lot. We found one before we even hit town but we kept driving anyway. It never hurts to have more than one place to have a good meal. We went all the way through town and back again to where we started. The main street is two one-way streets running in opposite directions through town. We finally settled on the Country Café which we spotted on our way through town originally.
We stopped and were surprised by the size of the Dining Room. It was only about 1/3 of the size of the whole building. But they sure get the crowd in there. And the service is fast and the food was delicious. We’ll be back.
After Breakfast we headed over to the Dollar Tree to look for something specific which they didn’t have. We also had to do some minor grocery shopping which we took care of quite quickly. On the way home we stopped at the produce place and picked up some veggies.
As soon as we got back home Sharon got the laundry ready and took off with that. And I got busy dumping the holding tanks. I first had to get us all hooked up with water and sewer. The guy on the site behind us was hooked up with three different hoses on the water supply so I knocked on his door and got one removed. Fifteen minutes later I had our water tank filled and the tanks dumped. I sat out in a lawn chair while all this was going on.
After Sharon got back we had all our regular chores done.
We just relaxed for the rest of the afternoon. Sharon was contemplating having Turkey Alfredo for Supper tonight and later on she got started on that. We had the Turkey leftover and frozen since Thanksgiving. It turned out quite good. I suggested we have the rest of the mixture on toast.
We just quietly watched the Telly for the rest of the night. It has been cooling off at night here quite nicely so there’s no need for the Air Conditioner at night.....yet.
I think we’re finally getting used to the time change. We’re going to bed earlier at night and getting up earlier in the morning. We’ll see how long that lasts.

We had no plans for today so Sharon was up taking her walk today. She walked all over the park and it only took a little over a half hour. She either walks fast or the park is small. The park doesn’t appear to be that small, so she must walk at a pretty good clip.
After writing my Journal entry I got busy on the Newsletter for this month. With not much happening so far this month it was difficult coming up with some interesting stories. I was working on the Newsletter well into the afternoon and struggling to write the stories for this month.
Sharon whipped up some Tacos for Supper tonight. She miscalculated the number of tortillas we had left so she had a salad as I ate the tortillas. She didn’t really care and neither did I. We were both happy with the decision.
Saturday night on TV again was a real channel surfer. I still don’t understand with the crap on TV they don’t put a couple of these programs on Saturday nights. If they build an audience than they can be transferred to a regular spot in primetime. Instead they keep putting garbage in primetime and expect them to build an audience running against successful shows. Than you have a successful show like “Last Man Standing” that they won’t show because of their political bias.
It’s a good thing that those TV executives jobs aren’t based on the number of successful shows they put on the air.
I was in bed by 10:15 tonight but it wasn’t because of the lousy TV offerings. Sharon retired after her usual 30 minute waiting period.

Sharon was off to church this morning and I was in front of the TV for my Sunday Morning Politics. Sharon took the GPS with her even knowing that the church was next to Burger King. And from here, Burger King is not hard to find.
This is the last day of the regular season for the NFL and I suppose we’ll be watching games even though we have no particular interest in any of the outcomes. The Packers are so far out of the playoffs who knows if they’ll ever come back. And I enjoyed so much the NFL’s disgusting protest of the National Anthem and the Flag all season long. And Roger Goodells refusal to keep the monkeys in the zoo under control. And the incompetent Brett Hundley who after 3 years of Packer tutelage showed nothing more than a Rookie could have produced.
So our afternoon was taken up with games on TV. We watched a couple of them that had surprising outcomes, but still no interest in it.
Sharon had picked up fixin’s for our Dinner tonight while she was gone for church this morning. We were going to celebrate New Years in our normal way. Stay home and have Steaks for Dinner. She already had the Rib-eyes so all she had to pick up was dessert and she also shopped for stuff we needed.
We had the Steaks, Baked Potato, Salad and Strawberry Shortcake for Dessert. It was a lovely Dinner chased down by several Old Fashioneds.
It made for an early night for me. By 10:15 I was headed for the feathers. Sharon stayed up for her usual 30 minutes before heading to bed also. I, again was sleeping by the time she got there.
