Sharon was up late last night still being bothered by the bug bites that she got at the parade on Saturday. She’s been coating her legs with vinegar since she found that remedy on the Internet. But so far it hasn’t been working that well. At least not for her. I got bit probably as many times as her, but the bites bother for a day and then go away. Hers just get worse the day after.
We didn’t have anything planned for today except to just stay close to home. It was a good thing we had nothing planned cause Sharon was miserable all day with her bites.
We did have a problem this morning. Our water heater was not working on electric. Sharon took a “cold” shower which she said felt really good, but I was not in the mood for one. I turned the gas element on and had a hot shower. We thought the problem might be a blown fuse or breaker and searched for it to no avail. There didn’t seem to be a breaker for the water heater. Finally after searching the whole motorhome I turned off the switch and turned it back on again thinking it might have its own reset built in. Although I did press all the breakers I did find just in case.
By this afternoon Sharon had planned to make Pasties for Supper tonight, and got started on that. Pasties are one of my favorite meals and these turned out to be outstanding. Sharon went to bed, by this time, to nurse her bug bites so I ended up eating alone. She got up shortly after that saying she couldn’t sleep.
We camped out in front of the TV for the night mostly catching up on things that we recorded over the weekend. They kept us up until after 10 tonight and when it was time to cave, Sharon went to bed at the same time as I did. That’s unusual because she usually waits a half hour or so after I’m gone.

We were up and off early this morning heading to Bay St. Louis and consequently off to New Orleans, Louisiana. We, Dennie, Drema, Sharon and I, were headed to the World War II Museum located somewhere near downtown.
It would take us about an hour to get to the City and the GPS took us right to the spot we were looking for. The Museum consisted of 5 huge buildings, 2 of which we never saw because of the shortage of time, and hunger overtook us by that time. We did sit through the hour long movie which took us from Pearl Harbor through V-J day on the USS Missouri, which also included the war in Europe which happened at the same time. There were thousands of exhibits which we perused for the entire time we were in there. I found a wheelchair early so I was able to follow our foursome all the way through. This Museum is touted as the #2 museum in the world.
After the Museum we headed over to the French Quarter to NOLA, Emeril Lagasse’s restaurant in New Orleans. I think Dennie was looking for somewhere else but found NOLA by accident. Sharon and I didn’t care, caused we were thrilled to eat at Emeril’s place. Dennie and I had Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Drema had a Pork Chop and Sharon had Crab Stuffed Artichoke. It all was very good. I wasn’t crazy about the $11 Bloody Marys in a small glass, however, even though it was delicious.
It took us little longer to get home because we left New Orleans at about 3:30 and the traffic was starting to build because of the rush hour. I don’t know if they have a regular rush hour here but the traffic did increase from when we entered the City this morning. We were held up a couple of times by traffic that actually stopped dead a few times.
By the time we got back to Bay St. Louis it was around 5:30 and we were ready to head home after a long day.
We said our good-byes and left for home. In another 25 minutes we were back in Pass Christian and our campground. It was good to be home.
After having something simple for Dinner tonight we just camped out in front of the TV for the next few hours. We mostly watched taped shows that had been recorded last night on the cable channels. But they carried us to our bedtime and we caved willingly.

We got up this morning to a nice sunshiny day w with nothing particularly special to do today. We knew we’d be on the road tomorrow morning so this was mostly going to be a day that we would get ready to leave.
Sharon got a leisurely start today but she was off with the laundry as soon as he got ready. I had a couple of minor things that had to be fixed today and then I got about checking our vehicles.
Sharon had fixed some egg salad for sandwiches before she left and by the time I finished up a couple of chores it was time for a sandwich.
We still had our chairs and tables out so I got about picking them up and putting them away.
The last thing that I needed to do today was dump the holding tanks. I debated with myself as to whether I would dump them today or not since we won’t have sewer at the Corps of Engineers park were going to up in Aberdeen, Mississippi. But not knowing the exact situation, I finally decided it would be best to go with empty tanks. So I dumped the Black water and left the Gray water open to release our showers in the morning.
When Sharon got back home we decided we needed a trip to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things for next week and as long as we would be in the vicinity of McDonalds we’d stop and pick up our Supper. We misjudged exactly where McDonalds actually was and had to drive to Gulfport about 5 miles past Wal-Mart to find it. We decided to take our food home because we had Drumsticks of Ice Cream in our groceries that we didn’t want to melt. Everything actually worked out just fine.
We were back in enough time to catch all the programs on TV that we wanted to watch for the night. In fact we had too much to watch and ended up in bed before we managed it all. Well, at least we’ll have something to watch next week if we can’t get satellite.
We hit the hay about 10:30 tonight.

We got up to a nice sunshiny day today that threatened to stay nice all day. Although a little cooler, the Sun stayed out all day.
We hit the road this morning about 9:20 after I got all of our cords and hoses picked up and left the campground. I left everything until the last morning because we would be going to a non-sewer site in a Corps of Engineer campground in Aberdeen, Mississippi almost directly North of Pass Christian. We knew it would take about 7 hours for us to get there, but we made it in less than our allotted time. We found out that instead of over 300 miles we only had to travel 290. And we received a welcome surprise when we arrived in that a sewer site was available. Of the 92 sites in the campground only 4 were sewer. So if we wanted to stay longer than a week we wouldn’t have to move to dump our tanks. Our site was located only two sites away from Lake Aberdeen, and we had plenty of room with a cement pad, for only $11 a day. This was quite the bargain and I think we’ll be using more COE parks in the future. This was only the second one we’ve been to, and the other one was near Waco, Texas in December. It was not warm and sunshiny when we stayed there.
We only made one stop for the day and that was to eat lunch. Sharon had made up Egg Salad for sandwiches yesterday and that was what we used for lunch today. With about a 20 minute stop we were back on the road again shortly afterward.
After we arrived we got our electric hooked up and then sat down and had a couple beers. It hadn’t been that bad a day but I told Sharon I’d have a beer with her since she got us a sewer site today. At the time I was not really thinking about TV and the site was among a bevy of trees. We would be lucky if we could get a signal from the satellite from this location. We turned on the Inverter and the receiver and we were completely blown away when the signal started downloading information. This was certainly going to be a “2 beer” or a “3 beer” day for sure.
After all that commotion I had a Pasty for Supper tonight. We had two leftover from the batch she had made on Monday, and I ate one of them tonight. It was just as good as it was on Monday.
With satellite TV working so wonderfully we settled in front of the TV for the night with a ton of stuff to watch. Most of it was on the DVR but never-the-less we had enough programming to last us the entire night. We stayed up late tonight watching half of a two hour Chicago Fire. It was time when we finally caved for the night.

We were greeted this morning with another bright sunshiny day that looked like it was going to very nice all day. The forecast was calling for a day that would reach 75 degrees and the Sun would be in evidence all day.
We were up this morning with nothing to do and nowhere to go. But Sharon always has a suggestion for us when those days roll around. Today’s suggestion was to go downtown and drive around and see if we can find a restaurant for my Breakfasts.
After driving around for about an hour we managed to find 3 fast food places to include McDonald’s. Wendy’s and Sonic. She found a couple more brick and mortar places sprinkled around Aberdeen.
Aberdeen downtown is very unusual in that all the stores are attached together. An explanation is that there are no spaces between the stores. The sidewall for one is also the same sidewall for the next one. Most places that we have been to do not have a common wall for two stores much less an entire block. But in smaller communities these were the construction techniques that were used because they were cheaper. The problem is that a fire in one store has a tendency to spread very easily to the adjoining stores, and possibly burning the entire block.
In any event we accomplished our goal today by finding a couple of places where we might be able to have Breakfasts over the next week or so.
We got back home and Sharon discovered that our compartments were wet again. It’s not possible for it to be raining into those compartments so we wonder how they’re getting wet. The only answer seems to be humidity. We’ll air them out again while we’re here and hope for the best.
At Suppertime tonight I had the last leftover pasty that Sharon had made on Monday. It was still quite good. Sharon had a bowl of her special cereal.
We had a bunch of stuff on the DVR that we would catch up on tonight. We stayed up until our usual 10:30 tonight and managed to clean up our leftovers on the DVR also.

We had to make a decision today as to whether we were going to stay here for another week or move back into Alabama at Arley where our home park is located. We can stay there for two weeks for free, and we still need three weeks before we want to head toward home.
Rain was predicted sporadically throughout the day but it never came down til later on today. By that time we had already made our trip into town and picked up a few things for the next couple of days including a few bottles of Coke.
We’ve been in relaxation mode since we’ve been here. We don’t have any friends that require time to maintain the friendships so we’re all on our own. We’ve enjoyed our last few months with friends and family very much but it also feels good just to be alone and making our own decisions. I am sure that other people feel exactly the same way.
We just sat for most of the afternoon or should I say one of us napped for awhile today, and it wasn’t me. Sharon has been having a hard time sleeping here. I don’t know if it’s the Heat Pump running at night or what. The Heat Pump makes as much noise as the air conditioner, and since our portable heater went on the fritz we’ve had to use it to preserve LP.
We had Pigs in a Blanket and Macaroni and Cheese for Supper tonight. It’s a nice change of pace that’s east to fix and easy to eat.
For the night we watched a series that I had recorded called “Chain of Command”. It had eight parts to it and we got through six of them before it was time to head for the feathers. It was just after 10 and not really enough time to watch another hour. So we just caved.

Sharon was off this morning to church early and this will be her first time going to town by herself. Sometimes she gets turned around and has no clue which direction she should be going. On different occasions we both suffer that anomaly. So after I gave her a quick directional instruction, she left with every confidence that she could get there and back home again.
I assumed my position in front of the TV for my Sunday morning shows. First up was This Week with George Stephanopoulus which I cancelled immediately when I saw Martha Raddatz was hosting it today. I knew that no good was coming out of her mouth today. I turned my attention to Foxnews Sunday and Chris Wallace. At least I can tolerate his bias.
After my shows had ended, Sharon came waltzing in, proud as a peacock. She had found her way there and back again without a problem. She did have the GPS, in the phone, with her but didn’t use it at all. She reported that the Mass was an hour and twenty minutes today because of Palm Sunday.
We didn’t seem to have a thing on TV this afternoon so I threw out the idea of driving to Tupelo (about 35 miles) for the afternoon. We decided that it might be too late already to go, but maybe tomorrow.
After awhile we just resigned ourselves to watching whatever came on the tube this afternoon. We surfed for programs and finally found Northwoods Law. We took in a couple of hours of that before it was time for Supper.
Sharon had decided that tonight we would be having Rigatoni and Meatballs for Dinner, along with a salad and Garlic Bread. It was one of my faves and it was very good indeed.
We got our reserved seats for the evenings entertainment and settled in for the show. We had our usual Sunday night shows on tonight, but because of March Madness the timing for the DVR was all screwed up. And after getting that adjusted, we settled in for the night. We lasted until 10:45 tonight before we caught up on everything.
