We picked up Phil and Joyce this morning on our way into Desert Hot Springs. We were taking our usual trip into town this morning to a restaurant.
We were off this morning to the Cottage 2 with a group of 8 with their feedbags on. The Parents (Roy and Marianne) the Bachs (Phil and Joyce) the Leducs ) Henry and Arlene) and me and the Mrs. We comprised quite the group and we were lucky that Roy and Marianne were there to save the table. The place was crowded this morning but we managed to comfortably have our Breakfast with the group.
After Breakfast we dropped off Phil and Joyce and then just came home. Sharon thought she might do the laundry this morning but opted for a nap instead. I took off for Blair Station (RV Supplies) to pick up a new lens for our outdoor light. I was afraid they wouldn’t have it but it happened to be the only lens they carry. I’ll manage to get it installed tomorrow.
By the time I got home it was time for the pool. Sharon had already decided she was taking another day off for the time being. Instead she spent the afternoon napping and making Chili. We would be having Chili for Supper tonight, but without Corn Bread. I guess I’ll be able to tough that out as long as I’ve got Ritz crackers.
After Supper Sharon cuddled up with a book and I settled in for TV. Unfortunately she had the better deal since there wasn’t much on the Telly tonight. But we both managed to muddle through and stay up until bewitching hour. That usually comes around 10.

Phil and Joyce pulled out early this morning headed to Colton, CA to have their radiator fixed. They came back from Yuma and it was leaking. We’ll keep an eye on their stuff while they’re gone.
Sharon was up this morning with a mission. She gathered up the laundry and set off for Sam’s Spa where she has a number of washers and dryers to use, only to be turned back because the laundry wasn’t open. It was closed down for repairs until 1PM. She didn’t find out until later that it was an electrical problem in the park that caused the shutdown. When she temporarily came back home she brought the phone in from the car that was there all night. We had two messages from the Bertamini’s, Terry and JoAnn, wanting to go out for Breakfast tomorrow. Since it was already “tomorrow,” we called them back and made a date for tomorrow morning. We’ll see them at the Cottage 2 at 9 tomorrow.
Sharon was off again to the laundromat telling me to go to the pool when I was ready and that she would be over when she was done with the laundry. So I took off about 2:30 and headed over to the water. There weren’t many people over there, but those that were, were friendlies. Sharon came over as promised and we stuck around for about an hour til around 4 PM.
We came back home and Sharon whipped up some Pork Chops and Mashed Potatoes and Peas for Supper tonight. It’s not one of my favorite meals but Sharon loves it so I just go along.
Our entertainment was the TV again tonight. We had a ton of regularly watched shows on tonight and no problem finding enough to watch. We knocked on 11 tonight before we cashed in our chips and left the building.

We were off for Breakfast this morning to the Cottage 2 to meet Terry and JoAnne Bertamini. It wasn’t as busy as it was on Monday but there were still quite a few people in the restaurant. As always with Terry, after you get done eating, you sit and drink coffee for an hour afterwards. But in all fairness we had a lot of catching up to do since last year.
We got out of there about 11 and after saying hello to Ginger,(the dog) who waited in the car in the parking lot, we headed back home.
Sharon got in a quick nap while I watched TV for awhile, and then we left for the pool about 2 PM and stayed there until almost Dinnertime.
We had some leftover Tamales from Sunday that we forgot about in the fridge that we had for Supper tonight. Sharon heated up some leftover Chili and the Tamales and then we poured the chili on top of the Tamales. It turned out to be quite good indeed.
The rest of the night we spent planted in front of the TV screen. We had plenty to watch for the rest of the night. We even had enough to hold off for tomorrow’s watching.
We lasted until 11 tonight before we folded up our tents.

We got up today with a ‘full service plan’ for the entire day today. There are several movies playing in the Valley that we wanted to see so we arranged our day so that we could see one of them today.
After Breakfast and showers we headed out to Cathedral City to accomplish our first thing of the day. We would go and see “13 Hours” the story of the attack on the Bengazi Consulate. Hard to describe, it was a very intense production with wall-to-wall action, showing the complete incompetence of the Federal Government.
After getting back home we had just enough time to get to the pool for a couple of hours. It was quite crowded today when we first got there. After about an hour it started to thin out some. Phil and Joyce Bach re-entered the park from a trip back from Colton for repairs on the motorhome.
After the pool we decided that we’d drive up to the corner to All Star Burger and pick up a sandwich for Supper. We both had a Cheeseburger and Fries and they were excellent. Both sandwiches had the works on them with Lettuce, Tomato and Onion and a special sauce.
After our Burgers we came back home and got ready to go to the Upper Clubhouse for Card Bingo tonight. This would be our first time for this year. We planned to go last Thursday but then we forgot all about it. I had a long dry spell but Sharon won 1 game worth $6 so it paid for our playing anyway. We got back home around 8:30 and settled in front of the tube for the rest of the night.
We had all our usual shows recorded on the DVR and we’ll be catching up on them for the next couple of days. We headed south around 11 tonight after catching a couple of shows on tape.

We awakened to another lovely day with the sun shining brightly. Not warm at first, but warming for sure. We can’t wait for warm days at sunlight or we’ll be waiting all year and it won’t ever happen.
Sharon wanted to go into town today, but I really wasn’t feeling it, so she went over and asked Joyce to go. She was reluctant, but after a little prodding by Phil she finally went.
They got back about 20 after 12 and Sharon had heeded my advice, and brought fish sandwiches and fries from Carl’s Jr. We’ve had them before and they were quite good. Today, however, even though the sandwich was good, they had huge chunks of lettuce on them. It was hard to eat the sandwich without deconstructing it, and eating the lettuce separately.
By the time we finished with our lunch, it was almost time to go to the pool for the afternoon. By the time we got there, it was quite crowded to say the least. Someone must have sent out a memo that the pool was really warm here. And, in fact, the water was quite lovely indeed. It took Roy a while to get to the pool today. He was playing poker and won the tournament today. He came out of the poker room smiling and waving the cash.
We had leftovers for Supper tonight. I had the last helping of Shrimp Creole and Sharon had a Cheddarwurst with Chili over it.
We had enough on tape to take us through the entire night tonight. We also had to watch tonight’s offerings along with the tape. We’ll never make it through it all tonight so we’ll have some stuff left over until tomorrow. We wrapped it up at 11 and headed for the sheets.

As usual, we were off to Two Springs RV Resort this morning for their Buffet Breakfast. Phil and Joyce picked us up this morning for the drive down there. The parking lot was relatively empty but that didn’t reflect on the number of people that were inside the Dining Room. It was as crowded this morning as its been so far this year. We barely found a table to sit at. We had to steal a chair from another table in order for all of us to sit down.
For some reason I didn’t feel much like eating today but I still managed to find enough to eat to satisfy my appetite. The Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Bacon and Biscuits and Gravy were enough to satisfy me for the time being. I didn’t even go back for the sweet rolls or the fruit. It wasn’t that I didn’t feel good, I just didn’t feel like eating.
We came back home and left quickly afterward for a ‘rummage sale’ at another park. We didn’t find a single thing we couldn’t live without, however, and returned home with no treasures.
We went to the pool again this afternoon but surprisingly there were only a few people there. We stayed until just before Suppertime and then came back home.
Sharon whipped up a quick meatloaf and fried some potatoes. She had leftover Green Beans and I had some leftover peas. It was really a very good spur of the moment meal. We’ll also have leftover meatloaf for lunch sandwiches.
We had debated going to the Upper Clubhouse tonight for the entertainment and then decided against it. I don’t know why we didn’t go but Sharon made no effort toward going, so I just let it go.
We just mosied into position for our usual evening tonight by selecting our favorite chairs for TV. We sat up and watched until 11 and then we ended the electric tube for the night.

Sharon was up before me this morning and taking a shower by the time I woke up. This situation never happens in the real world.
She was off to her usual spot this morning by heading off to church. I was also off to my usual spot in front of the TV for the Sunday political shows. There really wasn’t much happening this week except the New York snowstorm was pretty much taking over the shows.
Sharon would be stopping to shop again this morning after church. There would be no more Tamales today as we got them last week. They only make them every other week.
By the time Sharon got home the Championship Football games were starting on the Telly. In the end, and almost before we went to the pool, Denver had Arizona on the ropes and would eventually win the game.
The pool was relatively empty today except for the circle we formed with our little group. We had about 10 people in the group at the time we left to come home around 4 PM. We also made plans to go to the Emperor Chinese Restaurant on Tuesday at 1PM. There’ll be a small segment of our group attending.
We had Bratwurst, potatoes and carrots going in the Crockpot this afternoon and it really smelled good in the house by the time we made it home. After cooking for a few hours the potatoes and carrots were still very al dente and will need to be cooked some more. So Sharon threw them in a frying pan to finish them up.
We camped out in front of the tube for the rest of the night finding more than enough to watch for the evening. We decided to call it a night about 10:30 however, and finish up watching our tapes tomorrow.
