We were off to the Cottage 2 this morning for Breakfast with Arlene and Henry Leduc.  We were meeting them there this morning instead of picking them up at their campground.  They apparently had some stuff to do in town this morning.
After Breakfast, on the way home, we decided to scout out the area campgrounds to see about visitor attendance.  We stopped at Caliente Springs, Desert Pools and even drove around the upper campground at Catalina Spa.  The only one that didn’t seem unusually empty was Caliente Springs.  Although it was also the weekend for the FMCA Rally in Indio.
We thought earlier that the lack of visitors here in the valley is because of the Canadians that didn’t come because of the poor money exchange.  While that’s certainly some of the problem, it’s not the only reason that the visitors didn’t show up.
But I certainly can’t speculate what the reason is.
I Started feeling under the weather today and am hoping that it just allergies kicking up.  Although I am not allergic at home, stuff out here just makes me sneeze and cough every year.  Last year Sharon was sick all year coughing and sneezing.  If it’s just allergies I can clear that up with medication.
We decided to go to the pool today having missed yesterday because of the glorious Packer game.  Me and the Mrs. were by ourselves today when we arrived, but soon our friends showed up.  We had about twenty people in the pool at one time today so it really wasn’t filled up at any time.  We stayed til about 4:30 before we braved getting out.  The Hot Tub still isn’t running so there’s no warming up in there.  You just have to get out and suffer the cold.
We had Pasties for Supper again tonight. This will be our last hurrah, however, since she only made 4 of them this time.  But they were very good again.
Another night of watching the tube was in store for us again.  We had some good shows on tonight so it wouldn’t be much of a chore.  I, however, went to bed at 9 o’clock because I was falling asleep in my chair, and also because I wasn’t feeling that well.

Tuesday, January 12, 2016

I was officially “under the weather” this morning. I went to bed at 9 last night and slept until 7:15 this morning.  And I didn’t feel any better after getting up this morning than I felt last night.
I had Breakfast as Sharon went on her walk this morning.
I just mostly sat and watched TV for most of the morning even though there was not much to watch.
By the time “pool time” rolled around I was not interested to say the least.  Sharon left without me and stayed over there for about an hour or so.  I laid down and tried to take a nap but that didn’t work either.  Eventually I just got back up and positioned myself in front of the tube again.
At Suppertime I just wasn’t much interested in eating.  Sharon made herself a salad
And eventually I had a Toasted Cheese sandwich and a bowl of Tomato Soup.  It seemed like the only thing I was willing to eat at the time.
We got a call from Smitty the Mechanic tonight telling us he was on his way over.  He got here and spent about 15 minutes and told us he couldn’t find anything wrong with the steering.  It had loosened up some while we were sitting here on site and even I thought it was fine.  So $86 later he pronounced it fixed.
The entertainment for tonight was our usual fare.  Lots of TV and just relaxing.  I did that til about 9:30 and then headed off for the sheets and blankets.  Sharon stayed up for a while watching the Telly and I didn’t hear her when she came to bed.

I awoke at my usual time this morning (early) even though I still wasn’t feeling all that great.  But today was going to be Taco Wednesday and I didn’t really feel like missing it.  I took my Citrizene early today hoping that it would help fight these allergies.  We’ve been told that Citrizene will help if you allergies that bother you.  The only place we have allergies is when we’re in California.
We left just before noon to pick up Henry and Arlene and they were walking toward Catalina Spa again.  Arlene was wearing a solid red jacket and they were easy to spot today.  Although Henry did go out in the road and flag us down.
The VFW was starting to get crowded today.  The parking lot is always full but today it had the people to justify the cars outside.  I didn’t feel like drinking beer today so I had Diet Coke for a change.  Although I didn’t have problem eating the food.
We got back home about 3 today and since the “Caution Tape” was still around the Hot Tub, I decided to opt out of the pool for this afternoon.  They promised us that we’d have the Hot Tub back last Sunday.  So much for promises.  We’ll just have to wait and see when it’s back in service again.
We finished out the night with TV after we fended for ourselves for Supper tonight.  I went to bed first again tonight, but Sharon quickly followed me before I was under the covers.

Thursday, January 14, 2016

I awoke this morning feeling not at the top of my game again.  Sharon was off on her walk early this morning and I did my usual job holding down the fort while she was gone.
I did notice that the tape was off the Hot Tub this morning.  I guess that means it’s back in service again.  It’s only been out for the last 11 days.
Sharon was intending to do some shopping this morning for allergy medication and a few groceries.  She was going to go to Wal-Mart across the valley.  She asked if I was interested in making the journey but I wasn’t.  So she left in the morning to get that done.
She got back just after noon with Corn Dogs for her hubby.  While I still didn’t feel much like eating, I manage to devour the Corn Dogs for lunch.  Corn Dogs from Wal-Mart are one of my faves.  Actually Corn Dogs from anywhere are one of my faves.
Pool time rolled around but Sharon announced to me that she wasn’t going.  I don’t usually go either if she stays home.  I was intending to go today but I eventually stayed home also.  Besides we had enough to watch on TV this afternoon with the recordings from last night.
We had BBQ sandwiches for Supper tonight.  Sharon always makes Manwich when she makes BBQ and that’s fine with me.  We’ve been eating that so long that if she made anything different I may not like it.
After Dinner tonight we camped out in front of the Telly for the rest of the night.  We stayed up until after 11 tonight having tons of stuff to watch.

I woke up this morning still not feeling at the top of my game.  The allergy pills seem to be working somewhat but they’re still not knocking this thing out yet.  I guess I’ll just have to keep medicating and see what happens.
Sharon, of course, was out on her walk again this morning as soon as she got up.  Lately she’s been walking up to the corner where she picks up a Powerball ticket and kills two birds with one stone.  Unfortunately we didn’t win the big one, 1,5 Billion dollars.
After lunch today I thought I’d be going to the pool, but Sharon decided she wasn’t going.  I think she was contemplating a nap this afternoon instead.  So while she retreated to the bedroom to secure her nap, I decided it would be a good time to dump our holding tanks. So for the next 10 minutes or so, I was takin’ care of business.
When Sharon got up from her nap she got into making Supper for us tonight.  She made one of her best creations......Shrimp Creole and Chicken Egg Rolls.  And I get to eat all the leftovers.  It’s not a meal that she’s very crazy about so I finish it off for lunches.
After Dinner tonight we had plenty of offerings on the Telly.  We watched them all tonight and stayed up until 11.

We were off this morning to Two Springs RV Resort for their buffet breakfast again.  We picked up Henry and Arlene on the way and got there about 8:30.  It was busy this morning but still not as crowded as last year.  The Breakfast, however, was certainly just as good as always.
After Breakfast we stopped at the HUGE SALE on Dillon after we turned toward home.  We were only there for about 5 minutes though as Sharon and Arlene couldn’t find a thing they couldn’t live without.  It was not a big surprise.
Early this afternoon Phil and Joyce Bach arrived from down south around Yuma.  They left here 5-6 days ago to go down and visit the dentist.  And now they’re back for a week or so before they head back north to the San Francisco area and home.
By 2 o’clock or so it was time to head to the pool for the afternoon.  Sharon and I still were not feeling up to par but we can’t just sit around and wait to get better.  Besides what could be better than bobbing in warm water for an hour or so.  We stayed at the pool until about 4 and then came back home for the night.
I had leftover Shrimp Creole and Sharon had a PB&J Sandwich for Supper.  She never eats leftover Creole and besides she wasn’t feeling like cooking anything else.  After our perspective Dinners we got ready to catch the Packer Cardinal football game on TV.  It was a good game unfortunately the Packers lost.  They dropped the ball on the first play of overtime.  The Cardinals moved the ball down to inside the 20 yard line and on the next play got it over the goalline.  We were disappointed in the loss but it was a better game than three weeks ago when they lost to the same team by 30.
We managed to find a few programs to watch after the game and stayed up until 10:30 before giving up for the night.

Sunday, January 17, 2016

Sharon was off to church this morning even though she was feeling really nasty.  I asked her this morning if she noticed me sitting on the edge of the bed most of the night.  She said she thought she noticed me once in the middle of the night.  I told her I was up at least 6-7 times. I had an absolutely miserable night last night.
Today was Tamale Sunday today at the church. They sell tamales every other Sunday along with many other Mexican specialties.  We usually only pick up the Tamales and then have them for lunch.  Sharon picked them up today but she didn’t feel like eating them when she got home.  She decided to take a nap instead.  I waited for her until about 12:30 and then I dipped into the food.  I think I had one pork and the other was a chicken.  They were quite good if you like Tamales.
This afternoon Sharon was still not feeling like having any fun so she opted out of the pool for the day.  There weren’t many people over there by the time I got there but our friends were all in attendance.
I stayed until about 4 PM and then I ambled toward home.
We had Football Playoffs still on the TV today so I watched them for awhile.
For Supper tonight I had the rest of the BBQ beef on a couple of slices of bread.  It hit the spot nicely.
Tonight the Democrat Debate was on TV.  It didn’t take long for me to find out how many giveaways they were promising for the public.  I might be tempted to vote for them if I thought that I would be in line for the free stuff.  Unfortunately I’m one of the ones who has to pay for it.  I quickly found something else more realistic to watch.  We were up until 11 before our day ended.
