We were up at a reasonable time this morning and the little Mrs. went for her usual walk.  It was up to the corner and around the stop sign and then back home again.  I waited for her to get home before I ate Breakfast.  I had offered to make Breakfast this morning for the both of us.  We would be having Egg McMuffins.  Sharon complimented me on how good they were.  I think she just wants me to cook more often.  In any event, I have my specialties and I’m not excited about expanding my horizons.
We opted out of the pool today because I needed to go to the Podiatrists Office across the valley this afternoon.  I had to follow up with my infected toe that I went to Urgent Care for the other day.  I had to be there at 3 and the receptionist told me I had to fill out 4 pages of medical information.  By the time I arrived, I just whipped through the paperwork not caring if I was giving the right answers or not.  And apparently they were the “right” answers cause it didn’t raise any reg flags.  I waited for a half hour past my appointment time before I got in to see him, in an office that didn’t seem to be busy at all.  He needed to anesthetize my toe so he could dig out the nail.  The shot was mildly painful but it was painless once he started digging.  It only took about 10 minutes to complete the job but we were here for at least an hour.
On the way home we stopped at El Pollo Loco (The crazy chicken) for our Dinner.  Sharon had been to this restaurant when I was in the hospital, but I had never been to one before.  It was quite good and the Macaroni and Cheese was loaded with cheese, and good, even though I prefer it with less cheese.
After Dinner we had to make a stop at Wal-Mart to pick up a couple of things.  It didn’t take us long to find everything we wanted and to get back in the car and head home.
We were in for another night of “box entertainment” again.  It’s getting to the point that the things we watch every night, are things that have been pre-recorded on the DVR every night.  We’re collecting movies for the time when the re-runs will start and there will be nothing to watch.  We were up until 11 tonight before we folded our tent,

We were up and off to the Sunshine café with Terry and JoAnn this morning and we actually got there a few minutes early this time instead of a couple of minutes late.
Not long after lunch I started getting sick to my stomach.  I got the chills and I couldn’t get warm even though Sharon turned the heat on a blistering day.  I went to bed or the rest of the day and finally got sick enough to vomit.  I did that for awhile before I finally settled into bed.
Sharon informed me that this looked like a cellulitus attack surfacing again.  I Pooh-Poohed the idea thinking it was only an upset stomach.
I stayed in bed all night and until morning.

I woke up this morning feeling better but tired from the day before.  Sharon fixed me a bagel with Peanut Butter for Beanfeast and everything seemed to still be alright.
I stayed up most of the day feeling pretty good even though I wasn’t really eating anything.
Sharon took off for the pool in the afternoon leaving me behind and I didn’t care.  Swimming was something I didn’t care to do today.
By Dinnertime I still wasn’t eating much even though I felt fine.  I got tired early tonight and went to bed about 9 and slept through the night.

I woke up this morning with the telltale swelling and redness of the usual Celluloids infection in my leg.
Our plan was to go to Urgent Care as a possible short-cut to admittance at Eisenhower Medical Center.
After eating a quick Breakfast of Toasted Bagels we took off for the Urgent Care across the valley.  It was not a shortcut and we wasted 2 hours at the Urgent Care before we still had to go to Eisenhower’s Emergency Room for the next 11 hours.  This Emergency Room has got to be one of the worst in the country, not for the care, but for the immeasurable wait.  You can literally see one of every Race, Creed and Color, not to mention every Species, Phylum and Kingdom.  There were a hundred people there when we arrived, and another hundred when we left.  Just at the Emergency Room we spent 11 hours before I got admitted.

Last night was absolutely horrible.  With all the poking and prodding, injecting and blood sucking (several times) I had been worn out by the ordeal.  I was awakened for an insulin injection and got offered crackers and apple juice when I informed the nurse that I hadn’t had anything to eat in 2 days, only to be awakened again at 1:30 to eat a sandwich.  I was awakened again in the morning for bloodwork.  By the time I got up this morning I didn’t even know where I was at, except that where ever it was, I hadn’t slept the night before.
Sharon got an invitation to go to Breakfast this morning with Terry, JoAnn and Bruce, their friend from Canada.  They would meet at the Sunshine Café at 10:00 since Bruce was flying out this morning to go back home to Alberta.  We met Bruce a couple of years ago in Alberta when we went up for the Calgary Stampede.
Sharon came over for awhile this afternoon and I explained to her how my night went last night, after she left me.  She had gone home when they informed us that I would be admitted.  She didn’t have a much better night with a storm where the power in the campground went out for a couple of hours.  She mucked her way through but it didn’t seem too serious when you’re in a motorhome and the power goes out.  Duh, you just run everything off batteries.  Although she did have to use the gas stove to cook her Supper instead of the hot plate that we’ve been using lately to save gas.
After lunch the activity for me seemed to mellow out as I just melded into watching TV for the rest of the day.
We had no power outage here in the hospital, but the sewer system was backing up so we all were on a “no flush” restriction.  I found out later they’ve got a disgruntled former worker who is causing some difficulties.
I stayed up late tonight after a call to Sharon to say goodnight.  I wanted a good night’s sleep if I could get it

Saturday, March 12, 2016

I actually got the good night’s sleep that I was looking for.  Nobody seemed to bother me as I slept right through to 8 o’clock.
It was a pretty uneventful day for me as I got a visit from the doctor today this morning and another from an infectious disease specialist who changed my medication.
Sharon was invited out for Breakfast again with Terry and JoAnn but this time they were going to the Denny’s on Ramon Rd.  After Breakfast she stopped over to the hospital for a couple of hours and left around noon.  It was a little cooler out today so I doubt if she went for a swim today.  She did, however, have to dump the holding tanks today and I was hoping I’d be home for that job, but I knew it was close.
I sat around watching an NCIS Marathon this afternoon, switching back and forth from that to the Food Network.
There wasn’t much on TV today, or tonight, on regular network channels and for me they’re hard to find anyway, without a guide.
I shut off the TV and tried to sleep about 10 after having made my good-night call to Sharon earlier.  But I knew that this was going to be another one of those nights when sleep was going to be difficult.

Sunday, March 13, 2016

I was up early this morning having had one of those fitful sleeps last night.  Hopefully I’ll get to go home today and I can finish my night’s sleep.  I was hoping to go home yesterday but I got a new doctor who changed my I.V. medication.
Both doctors were in early today and given me the green light to go home and now all I have to do is get the staff on the stick and release me.
Sharon was out for Breakfast with Terry and JoAnn and she called me when she was done at about 11.  When I told her I was going home she decided to stop at the hospital instead going home to wait for me.
I finally got out of there early in the afternoon and we stopped at Walgreen’s for prescriptions on the way home.  Walgreen’s, of course, was closed for the next hour, so we continued on to the Walgreen’s in Desert Hot Springs.
It was also closed so we went to McDonald’s for Ice Cream to hold us over.  We also stopped at the Tourist Center to pick up a California map.  It’ll be needed for our trip home through Oregon and Washington.
We have tentatively decided that we’ll catch Washington and Oregon this year on the way home.  With me now out of the hospital we can plan our trip.
We came back home and just listened to the wind for the afternoon. It’s blowing hard and doesn’t seem to want to let up for at least a while.
The wind didn’t seem to bother the dish and that was a relief that we could at least watch TV for entertainment.  So watch TV we did until it was time to go to the rack at 11.
