Another date for Breakfast this morning as we were off to the Cottage 2 to meet Terry and JoAnn.  I never get tired of going out for Breakfast to wherever we need to go to get it.  We’ve been revolving around to three places.  The Cottage 2, Two Springs RV Resort and the Sunshine Café have garnered all of our money this year for that first meal of the day.
Today we actually had a plan for after Breakfast.  We would go to Cathedral City to the Mary Pickford Theater and see the movie “The Revenant” at 11 AM this morning.  We didn’t realize that it would take 2 hours and 45 minutes before we returned to the daylight again after the movie and the previews.
Fifteen minutes after we left the campground Phil and Joyce Bach arrived back at Catalina for their two week stint.  By the time we got back we figured they must be at the pool since their door was closed and there didn’t seem to be anyone at their campsite.  We quickly changed our clothes and headed over to the pool, but they weren’t there.  In fact there were probably only about a half dozen people in the pool when we arrived.  It took about another 30 minutes before Phil and Joyce made it to the pool.  It took him about 15 minutes to tell us about all the anomalies that happened to them on the way down with the motorhome and the DirecTV.  You can’t just have a pleasant trip to wherever you go, there always has to be problems.

Phil stopped over to pick up his Tamales that Sharon bought for them at the church yesterday.  I guess they were planning for them for Dinner tonight.
We came back home after the pool at about 4:30 and sat down to Dinner.  We were having Cheeseburgers and homemade French Fries tonight.  Sharon likes her burgers cooked on the grill and I’m kinda partial to them myself.  She had also made a Strawberry Pie from the Berries she picked up on the corner.  It was quite tasty even though I’m not crazy for anything made with lots of Strawberries.  But we smothered it with Whipped Cream.  Sharon even delivered a couple of pieces to Phil and Joyce.
We camped out in front of the Television tonight even though there wasn’t much on.  We did, however, have plenty of stuff on tape that we sifted through in order to get an evening’s entertainment.  I even taped a triad of movies that we didn’t even touch tonight that are waiting for viewing.  We only lasted until 10 tonight before we finally ended it all.

We were up relatively early for a Breakfast date with Phil and Joyce Bach this morning.  Unfortunately Joyce had a bad night last night so when Phil stopped to pick us up, Joyce was not in the car.  We’ll certainly miss her but this was Breakfast.....and not to be held up for anything.
After Breakfast we came back home and took care of a few things and then headed off to Urgent Care in Cathedral City.  We got on the wrong road and missed the Urgent Care building so we went to the GPS to find one.  After driving around for awhile we finally found the building we were looking for.  We were there for about an hour or so total by the time I got done and we were on the road again.  I had an infected toe and with my history I didn’t want to take a chance on it getting any worse.  So I went to Urgent Care to have someone check it out for me.
After we got back home I figured that my swimming days will be put off for at least a couple of days.  Sharon picked up some “finger cots” when we picked up my prescription, so if I can get them to work, I should be able to go for a dip in the pool.  We stayed home from the pool this afternoon, and I was soaking my foot in warm water with salt.  I soaked right up until Dinner tonight.
We had Rigatonis and Meatballs for Supper tonight.  Rigatonis are one of my favorite meals.  Sharon had a little wine with hers and she made me Garlic Bread out of a hot dog bun.  Supper was quite good indeed.
We camped out in front of the TV tonight and I had my foot in a pan of water.  Every time it cooled off I had to warm it up again.  By the time we finally went to bed about 10:30 we’d had enough TV and settled in nicely between the sheets.

Sharon was up an trudging around this morning.  I think that she thinks that walking around inside the campground is less tedious than walking up to the corner.  It’s just a mindset she’s gotten herself into that works for her.
It’s Taco Wednesday today and we thought we’d be spending it with Phil and Joyce after a months hiatus.  They got some news about their Grandson’s health today and packed up and left immediately.  He’s been unexpectedly sick for some time now.
Sharon and I left for the VFW about noon today, and when we got there we found a couple of chairs in the front Dining Room.  We usually sit in the back dining room because there usually isn’t room in the front.  The week before last was so noisy in the back room that I was glad we found room in the front.  It got noisy in there again today but we were kind of insulated from it.
After lunch and after we got home it was still early so we both decided to take a little nap.  Three Thirty rolled around by the time I woke up and Sharon was indisposed for another half hour.  It was now late so I decided to dump our holding tank.  We never did get a chance to go to the pool this afternoon.
We fended for ourselves for Supper tonight since neither of us was hungry at the usual hour.  Sharon heated up some leftover Rigatoni and I made myself a Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich.  Neither of us seemed put out by the meal we ate.
Another night of TV was in store for us.  The networks are starting to debut new shows.  Over the next couple of weeks we’ll see quite a few new shows.  Most the them will be stinkers and will be short lived.  There have been some that we liked that they yanked off the air after a couple of showings.  So I try not to get too attached to the new shows unless I know that they’ll be around for awhile.
We watched all we could tonight since I didn’t need a nap having slept for an hour and a half this afternoon.  We hung around til 11 tonight before we closed the blinds and shut the windows.

The “walker” was gone again this morning only making a couple of snide comments.  I’ll give her the medal for persistence even though she moans and groans about taking the plunge.  I listen to it before she goes, and then again when she gets back.
The day started out wonderfully with the Sun shining and with the prospect of it getting nicer this afternoon.  By getting nicer it means that the days are now in the 80's and sometimes slipping into the 90's on occasion.  But of course they like to say it’s a dry heat.  For me, heat is heat.
We had no Breakfast dates this morning so we just cooked our own meals this morning.  Sharon had her usual Scrambled Eggs with Spinach and I settled on Oatmeal which I hadn’t had since the weather turned warm.  It was a little chilly in the motorhome this morning when I got up.
Sharon took off with the laundry this morning and it had been a few days since she’d done that.  She had a couple of big bags full and it would take her a couple of hours before she got back.  She had made Egg Salad for sandwiches before she left and she was gone over lunch so I ate without her.  She had a half of a sandwich before she left.
It was “pool time” by the time she got back and we had both planned on going today.  When I tried to get the finger cot onto my toe it was too painful tod get it on.  I just decided to forget going in the water today. Sharon got ready and went over there for awhile without me.  I was content to just sit and watch TV for the afternoon.  I worked on finishing up on the Newsletter while I was sitting around for the afternoon.  I didn’t get it finished because I still couldn’t think of a logo for this month.
For Supper tonight we had the leftover Rigatonis from the other day.  They were still quite good.
This was Card Bingo night but the Republican Debate was also on tonight.  I checked to make sure I got all my shows recorded, including the debate, and we left for the clubhouse for the Card Bingo.  As luck would have we won twice tonight.  I won a candy bar and Sharon won a double pot.  It was worth $10.80 tonight with 54 people playing.  So we’ll be playing on other peoples money again.  That’s always a good thing.
After getting back home we watched the debate in its entirety and by that time it was time to fold up our tent and head for the sheets.  It was about 10:30.

Sharon was off on her usual jaunt this morning after a short warming up period.  I say her usual jaunt but that’s not true.  She goes for her walk but it may be just around the park or all the way down to the corner stop sign.  If she goes to the corner she usually comes back panting and barely with enough energy to climb the stairs back into the coach.  But I think her problem is the fact that its getting much warmer here to walk on blacktop.  She doesn’t get up that early to walk while its still cool out.
After she got home we cooked our own Breakfasts again and this time we both had Eggs with Onions and Green Pepper but I left the garden clippings out of mine.  I also had a couple of pieces of toast with sugar-free jelly.  I have a hard time eating Breakfast without toast.
At pool time Sharon took off today and spent the afternoon soaking.  I stayed home with my infected toe.  Any normal person would have gone to the pool, but with my history of infections, I dare not take a chance on making my foot any worse.  Besides the pool has been so warm that its really not very refreshing so I’m not missing much.
After Sharon got home we debated on where we were going for Dinner tonight.  We had a couple of options: The Sunshine Café DHS, The Catholic Church, Carl’s Jr. for a Cod sandwich or a new place called South of the Border.  We hadn’t decided yet as we drove into town and made our decision as we rolled into town.  We came into town next to Carl’s Jr. So after we stopped and picked up some groceries, we went there.  We picked up our sandwiches, which took absolutely forever, and drove home to eat them.  Carl’s Jr. Makes the best Cod sandwich of all the fast food places.  Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s are the same restaurants in the Midwest.
After Dinner we sat down to catch up on the massive buildup we had on the DVR.  We had enough recorded to watch well into next week.  Of course it may take longer than that to catch up but at least our nights won’t be boring.  We stayed up tonight til about 10:45 and then we had to “head toward the bed”

No walk for the Mrs. this morning.
We were running late but we were still off to Two Springs RV Resort for their Buffet Breakfast.  It was busy when we got there but it cleared out almost immediately.  It seems like going about 15 minutes later is the key to missing the crowd.  But I suppose that arriving 15 minutes later we’ll find ourselves having less selection of food.  Maybe we’ll just leave things as they are, and keep having the wonderful Breakfasts that we’ve been having.
On the way home today we stopped at some rummage sales that were going on in the surrounding parks.  We stopped at Desert Crest, Dillon Estates and Joshua Springs Resorts, and with the exception of pegboard hooks, we couldn’t find a thing we couldn’t live without.  We did, however, get a chance to see the many different configurations of Park Models and mobile homes in the various parks.  We even found many of them that we wouldn’t mind moving into.  We really aren’t tired of traveling yet so moving into something permanently is pretty much out of the question.
By pool time I decided to opt out again today.  It wasn’t that my foot was hurting or getting worse, I just don’t want to play around with this infection.  I’m taking an anti-biotic, and soaking the foot, and just hoping that by Monday when I see the doctor again it will be all cleared up.  The weather is going to cool off for the next few days, so going to the pool may be a moot point.  But the temp of the water in the pool makes it still very enjoyable even though the temp of the air may be a little cooler.  The hot tub is the big game changer, and when it was closed down for repairs earlier in the year, everybody was complaining about the cool air.  Now that really isn’t the problem with the hot tub running.  Sharon decided that she was not going to the pool either today.  Hers was just a personal decision.  She sometimes expresses misgivings about going, even when I go.   Tonight for Supper, Sharon had decided that we would have Playmoor Burgers. (One hamburger patty and one Bratwurst Patty, with cheese on each, and Horseradish sauce on top) She also opted for chips with the entree instead of French Fries.  The burgers were cooked on the grill and were very good indeed.  It’s quite a tasty piece of meat configured that way.
We “gathered round the tube” for the night and when the regular program ran out we watched a movie called, “Last Vegas.”  We thoroughly enjoyed the movie and it kept us up until well after 10 o’clock before we lost consciousness in the padded room.

Sunday, March 6, 2016

The motorhome had been shaking since last night with the wind rocking us back and forth all night.  This morning it was supposed to get worse and it was blowing quite briskly when we got up.  It doesn’t look like its going to subside anytime soon.
Sharon was off to church this morning and I was off to my Sunday morning shows.  Today was special, aside from the fact it was Sunday, in that Rush Limbaugh would be making an appearance on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace this morning.    On Friday he made it a point to tell his audience so that they’d be watching for him on Sunday. And of course as soon as I had heard about the appearance I set my DVR to record the show.  Even though I’m awake every Sunday for the show.
I got a phone call from Sharon, about twenty minutes after she left, and notified e that there would be no Tamales this morning.  That was my cue to cook myself a decent Breakfast and forget about lunch.  Besides she would be stopping to do a little shopping this morning before she finally makes the trip back home.  Which translated means that she probably won’t be here for lunch.
But surprise, surprise she rolled in the door right about noon with bags and bags of groceries.  She had been busy indeed.  First a stop for groceries and then another stop at K-Mart.
During Meet the Press this morning they broke in with a special report and announced that Nancy Reagan had passed away.  Needless to say it is now officially the end of an era.
I had thought of going to the pool today for the first time in a few days, but the wind was blowing so hard that I’m sure there were whitecaps on the water.  Needless to say that by tomorrow the pool will be filthy from the blowing dust.  It always collects at the bottom of the pools and hot tubs.  It also collects in your coach if the windows are even open a little bit.
So we sat indoors for the afternoon just watching TV and Sharon doing her craft project on plastic canvas.  It was something she picked up at the Wednesday patio sale.  Every week on Wednesdays people put out their stuff like a campground rummage sale.  I haven’t been able to find anything I couldn’t live without.
For Dinner tonight Sharon made Chicken Pot Pie.  It was absolutely fabulous and one of my favorite things she makes.
We chose our seats for the evenings entertainment, and as it turns out, they were the same seats as always.  When you only have a few seats in your “living room” its hard to find another place to sit besides where you’ve always sat.  We glared at the screen for the next few hours and finally went to the sack at 10:30.
