We awoke this morning to another nice day.  We’re praying for nice days since we still haven’t had a chance to cover up our roof.  The repairman will be here Wednesday to assess how he’ll cover the roof to keep it dry.  The actual weather is into the high 80's and expected to rise toward the end of next week.
We’re patiently awaiting to hear from the Insurance Company because the adjuster was here last Thursday.  We stayed pretty close to home in case we received a call.
Sharon was feeling much better today and by this afternoon she was ready to go to the pool.  We went over today about 3 and the pool was still in full sunlight.  It would be another half hour before some shade started to appear.  We stayed until 5 or so before we went back home.  Sharon decided that she’d rather not cook tonight so we went to All Star Burger, up on the corner, for a couple of sandwiches.
We came back home after Supper and assumed our normal positions in front of the TV.  We consumed the offerings of the networks until 11 o’clock before we finally gave it all up for the bed.

We called our insurance adjuster first thing this morning because we feel that it’s taking quite a while to hear from Progressive.  The call went to voicemail but he did give me the number of his supervisor.
We went to Breakfast with Phil and Joyce this morning to the Cottage 2.  Sharon was feeling much better today, so we couldn’t let an opportunity pass us by.
When we got home we called our insurance adjuster to see what was going on.   The call went straight to voicemail but I left a message.  I also got the phone number of his supervisor, so I called him/her.  That call also went to voicemail and I left another message.
Sharon had planned to go to Mike Thompson RV today to look for another motorhome, and me like a dutiful husband drove her over there.  We looked at the coaches on the lot and even found one in their inventory.  Of course we’re not ready to deal yet until we get our coach taken care of.
After we left the RV place we got a call from our adjuster saying that he was still on top of things, but sometimes they take a little longer when it’s an unusual occurrence.  We never did hear back from his supervisor.
We stopped at In-n-Out Burger for a sandwich on the way home since it was almost 5 o’clock when we got back across the highway.  Sharon didn’t feel like cooking and that was fine with me.  It was only the second time this year we had been there and we love the burgers.
We were too late for the pool by the time we got back home.  We figured we could  d go but we’d be in the pool by ourselves.  So we just located a good spot for TV watching for the night and settled in.  We stayed up until 11 until we gave it up for the night.  Sharon couldn’t sleep so she was up playing games on her Nook.  She went back to bed at 1.

We were greeted with a partly overcast day today but still warm.  The sun pops out every now and then. It still doesn’t look like rain for at least another week.
It also happens to be Taco Wednesday today.  It’ll be interesting to observe how the Canadian Exodus is affecting the attendance at the VFW today.
We exchanged e-mails with our adjuster today and didn’t really get any answers.  They’re still stalling any decision.  Although we’re still waiting for the estimate to repair the roof from Benlo RV.
At noon Phil and Joyce picked us up for the ride to the VFW.  We found a parking place up close to the door so we were thinking it can’t be too busy inside.  We were right as we found a booth in the inside dining room.  That room was about 20% empty.
By the time we got home it was almost time to hit the pool for the afternoon.  It was still overcast and the sky was getting darker but it still didn’t look like rain, or rather it wasn’t forecast.  We arrived at the pool and the Browns were absent today.  They were up at Pebble Beach, near the Monterrey Peninsula, playing golf.  They’re kids bought them a round of golf at the Country Club.
We stayed at the pool until late in the afternoon today since we probably weren’t eating any Supper tonight anyway because of the late lunch.  We came home tonight about 4:45 but Sharon whipped up a chicken salad from the Deli Chicken we bought the other day.  The salad was great and we put it on a couple of sandwiches for Dinner.
After Dinner we assumed our positions for the night’s entertainment.  We don’t readily recognize the re-runs anymore which is a good thing because then we think we’re watching original programming.  Our DirecTV guide doesn’t inform us of re-runs and I don’t know why.
We stayed up until 11 tonight even though Sharon sent me to bed first so that I could  settle in before she got there.  And I was zzzzzzz-ing before she got there.

We had a date at the Sunshine Café this morning with JoAnn Bertamini.  We arrived about 3 minutes late and she was waiting for us when we got there. Terry was not there as he was back in Canada taking care of some family business.  We had a lovely Breakfast and sat and talked for more than an hour afterwards.
On our way home we stopped at Wal-Mart to do some grocery shopping for the next few days.  Surprisingly the store wasn’t that busy this morning.  We managed to find a close parking space and I even found a scooter when we got into the store.  We were at Wal-Mart for about an hour before we finished up and headed toward home.
Sharon attempted to take a nap when we got home but she failed in the effort.  Before we knew it the clock told us it was almost time to go to the pool.  We’re going a little later now because of the lack of shade in the pool.  We’ve been getting a little sunburn over the past couple of days.  We try to keep out of the sun for health reasons.  We stayed at the pool til about 4:30 tonight before we came back home and Sharon whipped up Supper.  We were having Red Beans and Rice and Sausage along with Creamed Corn.  It turned out very good.  It was one of our regional (Louisiana) meals.
After Supper Phil and Joyce picked us up for the Card Bingo in the Upper Clubhouse tonight.  It was a long dry spell until I won 1 game.  We were hoping that one of us could win a double tonight.
We got back to the coach about 8:20 and then camped out in front of the TV for the rest of the night.  We had taped all of our offerings tonight so we’ll have stuff to watch the next couple of days that we can’t see tonight.
We both headed for the hay about 11 tonight and it seemed that both of us would have a good night.

We got up this morning with a plan.  We were going out for Breakfast which was nothing new, but we were going to Desert Crest Restaurant, which is virtually across the street from Catalina Spa.  Our friend Roy Parent has been bragging about their “Mexican” Omelette for years, and since I like a good Mexican Omelette, I would try it today.  I found after eating it, that the only thing that made it Mexican was the cook that made it, and the waitresses that served it.  Basically it was a pile of Scrambled Eggs with a dollop of cheese on top, with a sauce of Green Pepper, Tomato and Onion over the top.  The sauce, however, was excellent.  It was good, but nothing special.  It was served with home fries and toast.
After Breakfast Sharon decided she wanted to go back to Urgent Care for another visit.  We took off again almost immediately and spent the next 4 hours trying to get her seen again.  I figured that with the medication she was taking her pneumonia was probably cleared up and her allergies were taking over again.  And that was almost exactly the diagnosis she was given.  And my diagnosis was off the cuff and only took 2 minutes.
By the time we got back home it was time to hit the pool for the afternoon.  It was already 2:30 and we had to leave the pool early today because we were intending to go to the Upper Clubhouse tonight for Corned Beef and Cabbage.  I’m not really a CB and C guy but I like to go because Sharon enjoys it.  Unfortunately after she got home from the pool and sitting for awhile, she really didn’t feel well enough to go for Dinner.  I wasn’t too disappointed and we just fended for ourselves tonight.
After we fixed ourselves Dinner we staked out our positions in front of the Telly for the night.  We had a lot to watch tonight including the shows that we had taped last night.  We were busy til after 10:30 tonight before we finally called it a night.

Saturday, March 14, 2015

We were off this morning to our usual good Breakfast at Two Springs RV Resort.  We picked up Phil and Joyce were headed off for food.  The attendance was down again considerably with the departure of many more Canadians.  We didn’t have a hard time finding a parking place or a place to sit inside.
After eating our fill we came home and Sharon tried to take a nap for herself which failed.
After lunch, which we didn’t eat, having still been full from Breakfast, we headed for the pool early today even beating Phil and Joyce over there.  This will be their last day here in the pool as they will be moving to Thousand Trails down the road.  They’ll be there for the next 2 weeks but we usually don’t see them while they’re there unless we schedule a lunch or Dinner together.
In any event we stayed at the pool tonight until about 4:30 and then came home and Sharon made us Rigatoni and Meatballs for Supper tonight.  We chased it down with a salad and it was very good.  Rigatoni is my favorite form of pasta.  We always have leftovers which is also a good thing.
After Dinner tonight we settled in front of the TV to catch up on all the shows we had taped over the past couple of days.  Saturday nights are normally lousy for TV so we like to save the stuff during the week for Saturday night.
We were still catching up by the time the bewitching hour arrived at around 10:45.  We still have some stuff left so we’ll probably catch up on those shows this next week.

Sunday, March 15, 2015

We were up at a leisurely pace this morning and Sharon got herself ready for church as I settled in to watch my Sunday shows on TV.
After Church, Sharon made a call to me saying that there were no Tamales at the church today, and that she was finished at  K-Mart.  K-Mart seems to be almost an automatic stop every week after church.  She picks up the non-food stuff that we run out of during the week.
When Sharon called she wanted to know if she should stop for lunch at a fast-food place on the way home.  I had just eaten Breakfast so I told her no.
By the time Sharon got home I had already sent an e-mail to our insurance adjuster questioning why he doesn’t answer our e-mails.  It will also probably go unanswered.
Shortly after what would have been lunch, we took off for the pool for the afternoon.  Our friends were all there.  We stayed until 4:30 and then we came home and Sharon made Patty Melts and french fries for Supper tonight.  And they were quite good indeed.
We settled in front of the TV for the night catching up on all the leftover shows we hadn’t had time to see this week.  We had a couple of regular programming shows on tonight but for the most part we just caught up on the taped stuff for the week. We had enough to keep us busy until 11 tonight before we gave up and called it a night.
