The weather was overcast this morning and the weatherman was calling for rain sometime today. It usually doesn’t rain here during the day except under special circumstances. Today might be one of those days.
We got a leisurely start this morning since we had nowhere we had to be, and nothing we had to do. I wrote my Journal and then worked on my “Goin South” pictures from 2014. Sharon went on a short walk around the lower campground while I did my thing.
We planned to go to lunch today at the Hibachi City Grill in Cathedral City this afternoon. We picked up Phil and Joyce and we would meet Henry and Arlene there. The Grill is the former Pak Inn and when we went inside the arrangement on the inside was completely different. The food was still excellent but I didn’t think they had the selection of items that I like to eat. I did, however, find plenty to eat and I filled up very nicely.
After we got home, Sharon took off with the laundry to Sam’s World, a campground just up the street that has tons of machines to take care of business. She was back again in about 2 hours.
The weather hadn’t cleared up any today and by the time Sharon got back it was raining. We finally got some moisture after all the warnings over the last couple of days. It actually continued raining a little harder the later it got this afternoon.
Neither of us was too hungry for Supper tonight since we ate a late lunch today. I’m sure it’ll be a snack night tonight while we watch TV.
We had the “Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials” to watch for awhile tonight. But after that was over, we pretty much had to surf to find anything else. We did manage to have enough to watch to take us to 11 o’clock and the bewitching hour, however.

We were off to the Cottage 2 this morning for a Breakfast with Henry, Arlene, Phil and Joyce. We all had our usuals and enjoyed them very much.
On our way home Phil took us over to Henry and Arlene’s so they could see their new trailer. We stayed and chit-chatted for a half hour or so and then came back home.
We had to go back into town almost as soon as we got home. We had to go to K-Mart to pick up a greeting card, and had we driven in to Breakfast, we could have picked it up then. It didn’t take us long to get our business done and head back home.
We had a couple of hours to kill before we went to the pool so I was still working on my pictures from last winter. It takes a little time to adjust the length of time when they’ll be on screen when they’re played back. I also put a minimal amount of transitions into the mix to smooth out the changes in location.
We took off for the pool about two this afternoon and as we went out the door we could see Phil and Joyce leaving at the same time. We got to the big pond and there was nobody there. Except for one other person we were the only ones in the pool. There were about a dozen others sitting around on the deck. It was such a nice day we were at a loss to explain why there was nobody there. It didn’t get much better as the afternoon went on. We were there til about 4 o’clock when the time arrived to go home and eat Supper.
Sharon whipped up a Meatloaf tonight along with Potato Pancakes and Peas. The meatloaf was fabulous as she had added a package mix to the meat before she put it in the oven. Somehow that mix gave the meatloaf a very unique taste and it was a good thing.
We sat down for TV tonight and it turned into another nothing night. It was all reruns for the entire night. I had forgotten the stories and the endings so it was almost like original programming. We stayed up until 11 however just waiting for the retreat to the bedroom.

We awoke to an overcast day that looked like it was going to remain that way all day. Sharon took off on a short walk this morning nursing an injury that’s occurred over the last few days. While she was out she checked over the goods that were out on tables throughout the park. Today was Patio Sales Day and the campers in the park can put out their crap to sell. She couldn’t find a thing she couldn’t live without.
I was working on my pictures again while she was gone. I manipulated them until we left for the VFW today on Taco Wednesday. We picked up Phil and Joyce and we met Henry and Arlene at the club. We didn’t drink as much beer this week which I was grateful for. By the time we got back home it was just after two and we were late for Phil to play pool today.
We didn’t go to the pool until about 2:45 today. Sharon felt like she wanted to take a little nap today before we headed for the water. It certainly didn’t make any difference to me either way. We stayed at the pool til about 4 when Sharon had to get home to assemble our Supper tonight. I left almost immediately after she did, but I had to soak in the hot tub for a few minutes before I exited.
We were having an experiment for Supper tonight. It was called a Chicken Kiev Casserole. It was quite tasty and it’s only problem was the Parmesan cheese that was put on top. It melted just fine but then it firmed up when we went to eat it, so the entire top was stuck together. I thought it was good but Sharon has already decided, “I ain’t makin’ that again.”
Phil and Joyce picked us up for Card Bingo tonight. I fared much better this week than last. I won a pot and had to split one so I redeemed myself from last week when I won nothing. We managed to come out about $5 ahead after losing 30 cents last week.
It was about 8:30 by the time we got home and I had plenty of time to catch up on my recorded shows tonight. In fact, I didn’t even get to watch all of them tonight before it was time to go to bed.

It rained most of the night last night and was still coming down this morning. It was almost like we were back in Alabama like last year. Phil and Joyce were on the road early heading back home to Martinez, CA. They’ll be there for about a month before they come back down again.
The weather was going to be pretty crappy all day today with the rain coming down steadily but not hard. Sharon got up this morning feeling absolutely rotten and with hardly any sleep last night, and after staying up for awhile, took some allergy medicine, and went right back to bed. She stayed there for most of the day.
It was still raining this afternoon when it was time for the pool, and besides Sharon was still feeling “under the weather” so to speak. So we stayed home today.
For Supper tonight I made Pea Soup when Sharon got up briefly and suggested it. We had a couple of packaged mixes in the cupboard and I quickly whipped up the Pea Soup one. It worked out very well for both of us. After I finished up doing the dishes we both sat down for an evening of electronic entertainment.
We had new shows on all night tonight. I also had a couple recorded on the DVR to watch. We were both ready for bed when the bell tolled at 10. I had quit raining sometime tonight and looked like it would be better tomorrow.

We were off this morning to the Two Springs RV Resort for our usual Buffet Breakfast. We were meeting Henry and Arlene and their daughter Leona. As we were headed down Dillon Road we spotted Henry and Arlene parked at the side of the road and looking like they were having trouble. We stopped and turned around and found out he was having trouble with a low tire. He had it under control and told us to go on.
We weren’t at Two Springs for more than 5 minutes when they rolled in. Obviously it wasn’t a big deal for Henry. He had a compressor on his truck that he pumped it up with.
The Dining Room wasn’t ful today which was a huge surprise since the last two weeks were very busy. We found a place for the 5 of us to sit immediately upon entering.
By the time we got home Sharon had already decided that she was going grocery shopping for awhile. She was gone for about an hour when she returned with some goodies. She actually found some muffins that were titled “smores.” They actually had marshmallow in them and they were quite good.
We went to the pool today but were interrupted by a visit from Henry and Arlene and daughter. Henry came over to the pool and rousted us out. We had been there for about an hour anyway so we didn’t mind. He told us that there was a party going on at our motorhome. I don’t know if it was much of a party but it lasted until about 6:30 and after the sun went down.
Sharon put the Chicken Pot Pies from KFC in the oven and about a half hour later we were eating. She had picked them up this afternoon when she went shopping.
After Dinner tonight we settled into our theater seats and watched 4 hours of The Sons of Liberty which I had recorded last week. It was a six hour special about the American Revolution. We thoroughly enjoyed the first 4 hours.

We awoke to a lovely sunshiny day in which the temps might rise as high as the 80's. (in fact it got as high as 82)
Sharon was off to church this morning and I dug into my morning political shows.
While she was gone I made myself a big breakfast of Bacon, Eggs and Hash Browns with a little toast and coffee to wash it all down. It was quite good, I must say.
After she got home she took off with the car to pick up Arlene and Leona to go to the College of the Desert Flea Market. It’s actually an upscale marketplace that runs every weekend. I decided to stay home today as I really didn’t want to spend the day in the heat.
I took a good chunk out of the job to finish my pictures from last winter this morning. A couple more hours and I should have them all finished up and done and be ready to start on the video.
There were also no ladies at church selling mexican food today, so I had to do without my Tamales for lunch.
After Sharon got back from the Market we went to the pool and found nobody there. There was a circle of friends in the pool but we didn’t know any of them. Soon our circle showed up and it turned into a nice day. We were there until Suppertime today and when we came home we indulged in Toasted Cheese Sandwiches and leftover Pea Soup. It hit the spot nicely.
After Supper we settled in to watch the final two hours of our pre-recorded series about “The Sons of Liberty.” It was an excellent series and very informative. We’d hoped that Hollywood didn’t take its usual license for theater during the production and the movie reflected the truth. Afterwards we watched 60 minutes special on music that was also pretty good.
