The nights have been so cold, it’s good to get up and have the sun shine in for heat.  My propane detector is on red, so I’m trying to conserve what propane I have left until Tuesday, when the propane truck comes along.  I keep the electric heater going so the furnace doesn’t kick in as often.  There is something wrong with this picture.  We are here for the sunshine, pool and to be able to wear shorts instead of sweatshirts, geeeez.            While I was getting cleaned up for the day, Joann came over asking me to go to the Cottage for breakfast (seems like I do this often or is it that they go there very often).  So in my hurry to get ready and meet them there, I had the heater plugged in, tv on, curling iron and when I plugged the blow dryer in, that did it.  Popped a circuit breaker.  I know, I know!  I couldn’t find the exact one, so I put extra hair spray on for the do and left.  Breakfast is always good at the Cottage, Bill will be glad when he can join in, although he says the food has been good there.
After coming home, I had Phil come over, he found my problem right away.  I guess I didn’t give it time enough to reset before I flipped it back on.  I told Phil I just wanted to get him in the bedroom, it’s been a while since a man has been there :)  Even with all that, I still got to Bill’s my usual time.  He’s getting better every day, it’s just not fast enough for either of us.  I brought the computer so he could publish my journal.  It looks like I’m getting more looky loos each week than he usually does.  Phil and Joyce stopped over to see him and when they left, I left with them.  We met a couple of their friends at Mimi’s Café.  They have a special for $6.99 with all you can eat soup, salad and a muffin.  I had corn chowder and pea soup along with a carrot, raisin muffin.  Everyone enjoyed it.  I will have to take Bill there if they still have the special when he gets out.  Michael’s Craft store wasn’t too far away, so I browsed around there on my way home.  I got a Christmas craft project to keep me busy....what did I just say ???  After my long day, it was pj’s on early, finished my puzzle and off to bed.

Up and dressed so I will be ready whenever the propane truck comes in.  I can’t miss it, the detector is on red and the nights are cold.  Security told me, last week they were here between 10:30 and 11:30.  Well of course this week they came in at 2 pm.  I called Bill to tell him I would be late, but didn’t think it would be this late.
Wish I could tell you there is a big change in him each day, but it’s a slow healing process.  At least it is improving.  Today was the last scheduled IV.  They will check the infection to see how it’s doing, hopefully tomorrow will be good news.  Even if he comes home, he still has a lot of healing to do.
Arlene and Henry are now across from me in Catalina Spa and of course, wanted me to stop for a beer.  After a couple, I came home and made myself a patty melt for supper, it was very good.  My night ended with my book, a little tv and bedtime.

Yesterday when the propane truck came, I had to put the bedroom slide in so they could get at the tank.  Later on when I tried to put it back out, the engine battery  was dead.  Bill does some kind of switching thing when we park and of course it wasn’t done.  Phil came over and change it for me...slide out is out.  While taking a shower, I could see the water wasn’t draining.  I guess when Henry hooked the sewer up, he didn’t leave the grey water open like we do.  So I went out to drain the grey water and there is a leak in the drain hose.  Why do we still have it with us, don’t ask me, it’s a blue job.  Now I switch drain hoses, which took forever because I had to put clamps on the good one.  Henry had his own problems with a leaky toilet.  I try to do everything myself, but sometimes I have to rely on help from friends and they are the best, willing to help whenever I need them.  I’m almost at the end of my ropes.......  I’m going to the VFW for tacos and a beer or two or three....
Later on, I went to see Bill.  They still have him on IV antibiotics, per Dr orders.  The wound Dr was in, checked his sore on top of his foot, cleaned it some, wrapped it and said see you next week.  I helped him wash his hair as he was cleaning himself up.  And the stay goes on.  I stopped at Walmart for a few things.  I reported to our friends about Bill’s stay, they wish he was out too so we could all get together.  I made another patty melt for supper, finished my book and in bed by 10 pm.

Off to the cottage for breakfast again.  This time with Henry, Arlene, Phil and Joyce.  We saw a Yard Sale sign on our way into town so after breakfast we found it and stopped.  They had lots of stuff.  It was almost like a Quartzsite Flea Market.  They had some old things, slightly used things and new items in their packages.  Looked like they had gone to a store closing and bought clearance items.  Henry came out with a tool for $4 and Phil had a shirt for a buck.  After coming home, I went to the laundry.  I still do laundry every 7-10 days, just 2 loads instead of 3-4.
By 1 pm I was off to see Bill.  While there, one of his therapist came in and said, how about we go outside today.  It’s the first 70' weather since we got here.  I guess California has to have winter too.  He wheeled Bill outside to the patio and along side of it is a putting green.  He put about a dozen balls out for Bill to put in, with the wheel chair behind him in case he needed to sit.  He did it 3 times, resting in between.  It was very nice out and I had told Bill, when it gets warm out, we can go outside for our visit.  Now it is!  The therapist also took him into the therapy room and had him do some other workouts.  It sounds like it’s taking forever for him but if that’s what it is, that’s what it is.
Came home and found our friends sitting out for a cocktail, so I stopped for one and report to them on Bill.  Arlene and Henry are from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta and haven’t traveled for 4 years, so we were so looking forward to spending time together.  They are only here for a month and then traveling on to Arizona.  The only time they saw Bill out of the hospital was the couple days between him going to the ER and being admitted to the hospital.  Our friends have visited him every couple days, but it’s not the same.  I came home, fired up the grill and put on a steak.  Bill will eat them just because he knows I love them.  He told me to go ahead and eat all the steak I want while he’s there.  He’s kind of a meatloaf, spaghetti guy.  My steak and baked potato was great.  And the rest of the evening...tv and a couple magazines.

I’m awake at 5:45, up at 6:30.  This is Bill’s time to get up, not mine.  I told him to come home and take over that shift, I don’t like it.
Bill has been bugging me to go to Verizon and have our MIFI card installed.  I know nothing about that stuff but decided to give it a try.  Verizon is not easy to find but after driving around the area for a while, even though ‘Jill” on my GPS said I was there, I finally found it.  So I tell the girl what I need and in 10 minutes I’m out of there.  Now I can get on line with the computer and my Nook.  Done.
I had a successful ‘dumping of the black water’ today.  I’m not going to brag too much because that’s when s— happens.
Went for my daily visit to see Bill.  No news.  Arlene and Henry were there visiting him when I walked in.  After they left, Joann and Terry came.  Bill has been able to visit with our friends, but it’s not the same as being in the pool with them or visiting around the campground.  I was going to help him wash up but it was time for me to go out to eat with friends.  So later on he said he had a girly girl help him, I’m sure that was fine with him.  We went to La Tabalita at 3pm.  Phil thought we could get the buffet but it ended at 3 so we all ordered off the menu.  Everyone has various Mexican dishes but I had blackened fish that was very good.  Oh and Henry doesn’t care for Mexican, although he’s a sport and comes along anyway, so he got a chicken salad sandwich.  We were all to full for cocktail hour when we got home, so we all said good night.  I did my ironing, tv and read.

Up early again and by 9, I was with Joyce and Phil going to a patio sale at Sparkling Waters RV Park.  We were able to drive the car around in the park to the various site that had sales.  The only thing I found that I couldn’t live without, was a puzzle.  Joyce was a bit luckier and came out with 6 tops at $1 each, such a deal!  Phil only found a free handle for his lawn mower at home.
After lunch, I went to visit Bill.  Right after I got there, the therapist came in to take him down to the room.  I went with and watched all the leg exercises they have him do.  They give him a good workout and even brought him to a sweat.  We called our little Stella, whose 5th birthday was today.  We were too late, she already had her party, was exhausted and was now down for a much needed nap.
Shortly after I got home, Arlene came over to get me to go with them to Janet and Gary’s for dinner.  They are friends of theirs from back home in Alberta.  We sat outside with Henry’s gas firepit and Gary’s gas tall heater keeping us warm.  It worked very well so we also ate outside after cocktail hour.  Janet had made salad, chicken breast, baked potato, fresh green beans and biscuits.  It was all very good.  We were home by 7:30.  I opened my ‘new’ puzzle box and worked on that til bedtime.

I didn’t reach Stella yesterday so at 7:30 I called and talked to her.  She thanked me for the gift and her and Max wanted to know where I was and what I was doing in the motor home.  They love coming in our motor home.  Church is at nine so I was up and ready to go.  I stopped at Kmart after church to pick up a few things.  Did a little work on my puzzle, visited with Phil and Joyce, ate lunch and left to see Bill.  He was tired today.  He said he didn’t sleep very well last night and then his therapist was tough on him this morning.  We keep hoping a few more days, a few more days.....  I was home by 3:30 and no one was around, so I got a half hour nap before Henry was knocking to stop over.  We sat outside til 5:30, then it was time to eat.  I had bought pork chops in apple bourbon sauce, so I had that along with potatoes and green beans.  It was quite good and another meal I would eat but not serve it to Bill.  Not much on TV tonight, so it’s puzzle time.
