We were up and showered early today and Sharon took off on her walk around the park.
After lunch we got ready for my doctor’s visit in Rancho Mirage.  It takes about 20 minutes to get over there and as luck would have it, we ran into traffic problems about halfway over there.  There was a traffic light not working and the cars were backed up waiting to get across.  By the time we got to the doctor’s were were barely 5 minutes early.
We expected to get bad news at the doctor’s today but the news was much better than we expected.  Apparently there’s enough of the graft left that a new one won’t be necessary.  He suspects I have a new infection because of the drainage from the donor site of my graft.  It didn’t appear that bad to us.  But he took some samples to send to the lab and gave me a prescription to take for the next few days.  Hopefully this is not what he thinks and it will clear up with the rest of my wounds.  If not I’ll be on anti-biotics for the next two weeks along with the rest of the pills I have to take.
Sharon whipped up some Ham and Eggs with Hash Browns for Supper tonight with some leftovers she had in the fridge.  We don’t usually do Breakfast for Supper so this will be a change in pace for us.
We camped in front of the tube for the rest of the night and had a few good things to watch for the evening.  We stayed up until our usual time and then called it a day.

Sharon was off on her walk for the first thing this morning.  I of course, remained behind and held down the fort.
When she got back she heated up what was left of our Ham and Egg supper last night and I had that for Breakfast.  We even had a couple of pieces of toast that we left that heated up nicely in the nuker.
Sharon took off for the store right after lunch instead of waiting for the wound nurse to arrive.  This was going to be another day with Henrietta but we really don’t know what time she’ll be coming.  She usually gets here between 11-12 but it’s already 2 PM and I just got a call from her saying she’ll be here in 10 minutes. She drove in right on time and got busy on me.  It took her about a half hour and she was on her way again.  She was upset because the doctor’s office didn’t provide her with the antibiotic cream that she needed.  She agave us a call about an hour later after the office had called in the prescription she needed.
It was quite warm outside today so we just sat around and Sharon took a nap and I got online with Homestead about my website.  I didn’t get any satisfaction but I think she got at least 40 winks.  At least one of us was mildly happy about their situation.
Sharon picked up the fixin’s for Taco Loaf for Supper tonight.  We haven’t had that for a long time and certainly not this year.  They don’t serve it in the Hospital or the Rehab Center.
After Supper tonight we may just go outside and sit in the breeze for awhile.  It was a little warm to do that this afternoon.  Tuesday is usually a pretty good night for TV though so the DVR will be working overtime tonight.

We took off early today for the Sunshine Café for a Breakfast out.  We had a plan for this morning to go to Harbor Freight Tools and pick up a Grinder/Polisher they had on sale.  It’s been on sale for awhille but this is the first time I’ve felt like I wanted the long trip down to Indio to pick one up.  Luckily they still had one in stock.  It was only $29 for the 7" grinder.
We knew we had to be back at the motorhome around noon because Henrietta will be coming sometime around then.  We were back in time to eat lunch before Henrietta came, and everything went very smoothly with the dressing change.  She was happy with the way both of my wounds looked.  She told us that she’s taking this weekend off except for me.  She’ll be here on Saturday and Sunday for the dressing changes.
This afternoon we just sat around inside the motorhome since it was so warm outside.  It wasn’t a nice day to sit out in the shade.  Although after Supper we took a ride to the garbage bins and then just continued around the park for about 45 minutes or so.
There’s a lot of people who have deserted the place for the year, but there still is a lot of people left in the park.  I expect that over the next few days there’ll be a lot of empty spots here.
Sharon left this afternoon to drop off a UPS package, pick up some prescriptions and then pick up s surprise for Supper.  She had a couple of choices of fast food places to stop at.  We’ll see which one she picks.  Well Subway won the contest and we had a couple of miscellaneous Chicken Sandwiches.
We were in front of the TV for the rest of the night.  It was nice enough for a cart ride but it was starting to get dark outside and I didn’t feel like going so we stayed home.

We were up and rolling early today when Ron and Theresa (friends of JoAnn and Terry) picked us up for a trip to Mimi’s Café for Breakfast.  We had originally decided to go to Bristol Farms but they changed the plans and we ended up at Mimi’s.  It wasn’t a problem because we had never been there for Breakfast before.  And besides they graciously picked up the check.  Probably as a payback for picking them up at the airport on Monday night.  We appreciated the gesture.
After coming back home, we sat around and waited for Henrietta to arrive this afternoon.  My foot and leg looked really good by the time she left.  There is truly a light at the end of the tunnel.  And it doesn’t appear to be a train.
We sat around the Telly for a couple of hours and then it was time for us to leave to meet Roy and MaryAnn Parent at the Fisherman’s Market Restaurant for Dinner tonight.  We had never been there before so it was another new place to eat for us.  I had a Crabcake Dinner and Sharon had a Salmon Filet.  Both were very good indeed and it was very nice to see Roy and MaryAnn again before they left for home.
By the time we got back home again it was time to camp out in front of the TV for the night.  We had several of our regular shows on tonight even though I recorded them before we left for Dinner tonight.  It was a breeze to make it to our regular bewitching time.

Subway is having their usual special again this April.  Buy one Breakfast special and get the second one free.  We’ll hit that a few times this month I’m sure.  We love their Steak, Egg and Cheese on Flatbread.  We ate them all the way home last year, and there’s a Subway just down the road from here.
We also had to stop at PepBoys to pick up a few things this morning.  We had to get some oil dry and stain remover and a quart of Transmission oil.  We discovered a leak under the motorhome that we absolutely have to remove before we leave here.  Terry and JoAnn wouldn’t be happy if it’s still here when they come in October.
After we got back Sharon took off for Michael’s to get a project to keep her busy.  She wanted to get back before Henrietta arrives to change my dressings.  And she managed to get back just before she pulled into our site.  Kevin Woo also made an appearance from Royale Home Healthcare to ask me some questions about my care over the past few weeks.  I think he was really checking on Henrietta.  She’s a fabulous nurse.  I had no complaints.
Sharon took off again this afternoon to do some grocery shopping for our supper tonight.  She also picked up some peanuts, chips and cheetos.  It was against her better judgment but she picked them up anyway.
She was planning to make Shrimp Creole for Supper tonight along with some eggrolls.  It’s a meal that always has leftovers.  Yumm.  And that’s what we had and it was delicious.  It had been a long time since we had Creole for a meal.
We had a wind advisory tonight but it didn’t seem to bother the Dish.  So we were situated in our favorite spots to watch the programs of our choice.

Saturday, April 6, 2013

We were both up early this morning.  6 o’clock early.  Neither of us could sleep so we just got up.
While Sharon was perusing under the bed this morning she found out that a milk bottle of peanut oil that we had been storing leaked out onto the carpeting and was absorbed by everything around it.  She spent most of the morning trying to scrub the oil out of everything.
She also decided to do our laundry this morning before Henrietta arrived.  That’s where she figured out she couldn’t clean the set of sheets that were full of oil and tossed them out .She was so busy this morning that she had a full days work in before noon.
When Henrietta arrived she was in a hurry and said that she only had 25 minutes to get me done.  She usually finishes in that amount of time anyway.
By this afternoon Sharon was off to church with a stop at KFC for our Supper on the way home.  She rolled back in the door about 5:30 and we sat down and ate our Chicken.
The wind was blowing pretty hard again tonight but it didn’t seeem to affect the dish at all.  Besides we just watched our taped shows which aren’t affected.  We both hung in there til 10 and then headed off to the padded room.

Sunday, April 7, 2013

I was up early again this morning but Sharon stayed in the rack.  I guess she wanted to catch up on the sleep she missed yesterday.
The Frasers next door were up and getting ready to leave this morning.  I spoke to John and he said that they were changing their route which would take them through California and take an extra day to get home.
We really had nothing on our agenda for today except a visit from Henrietta sometime after noon.
We made some phone calls this morning to back home and beyond.  I called my brother Tom down in Florida and spoke to him for about a half hour or so.  We made a couple of other calls to family and friends and even received a couple.  We got a call from Mary and Dennis Ceshker saying they were still planning on coming tomorrow and we are excited to see them.  We also got a call from Jayce Dale, from home, just inquiring about our whereabouts.  She wasn’t on our e-mail list so Sharon explained our winter to her.
We finished up our KFC and fixin’s for Supper tonight like we usually do.  We get an 8 piece Bucket and it serves us two meals apiece.  It was our first bucket this year, because of the circumstances.
The wind started blowing tonight by the time I went to bed.  Sharon headed out early on her liquor assisted sleep.  She left the water running when she poured me a glass of water for my nighttime pill.  I heard it and got up and turned it off.
