In the morning I felt much better since I had pumped myself full of cold medicine all night.
I had a miserable time trying to publish my Journal for the second week in a row.  Ever since I’ve been forced to use this new sitebuilder from Homestead, I’ve had extreme difficulty getting my Journal into format and getting it published.  I even imagine from this point on, that the Journal will cease to exist.  At least published on the web.
With my cold a little better, I decided to tackle the leaking toilet again today.  It’s leaking fresh water but the leak itself is quite annoying.  And it’s just barely leaking from the vacuum breaker so that makes it even more annoying.  I got the breaker off the toilet and then went up the road to get a new one.  After the new one was on the leak was still there.  The breaker is hidden behind the toilet so you can’t see it leaking.  You really have to guess that the breaker is where the leak is originating.  I guess I’ll have to tear into it again when I feel better.
Terry and Jo-Anne called an asked if we wanted to come up for a drink tonight but I wasn’t feeling up to much socializing.  We stayed home and camped in front of the TV for the night.
I was content to just sit and try to nurse myself back to health again.

Our power went off last night and was still off this morning.  As I sit here writing my Journal from yesterday, the power is still out.  It’s 12:30 in the afternoon.
Before Sharon got back from her walk, Jo-Anne called and asked if we wanted to go for Breakfast this morning. I accepted for Sharon knowing that she would go anyway.  We haven’t been out to eat anything for a few days now.
So when she got back we both showered and got ready to go.  We were off to the Cottage Too in Desert Hot Springs, which is a little restaurant that serves a delicious Breakfast for a very reasonable price.  We usually get away with about 13 dollars for the two of us.
Terry and Jo-Anne picked us up and we were off and running.  We took the scenic tour on the way over.  After we got done eating we took the scenic tour on the way back also.  We just drove through different parts of DHS.
After we were home for awhile we got another call from Jo-Anne asking us if we were going to the pool this afternoon.  We actually weren’t too excited about going but we decided that we would anyway.  Before we got ready to go Jo-Anne stopped over to borrow money for ice cream cones.  She said she didn’t want to have to walk all the way back home for money.
Me and the Mrs. got our swimming togs on and headed for the pool for awhile There weren’t many people over there, and those that were there were in the hot tub.  I don’t know why because the pool was very nice indeed.  Jerry and Dot Pittsley were in the pool and this is the first time this year we’ve seen them.
We stayed at the pool for a couple of hours before we came home.  We were hoping that the power would be back on, but no such luck.
We fired up the generator again so we could watch TV.  We ran it all afternoon to charge up the batteries and we’ll have to do the same thing tonight so we’ll have batteries to run the furnace through the night.
We had Rigatoni, Salad and Garlic Bread for Supper tonight.  Spaghetti of any kind is one of my favorite meals.  And tonight it was especially good since Sharon used the sausage we brought from home to make the sauce.  Yum, Yum.
We watched TV with the generator all night tonight.  We both went to bed by 9 since there was nothing else on TV and we had nothing but movies recorded on the DVR.
When we went to bed our power still had not been restored.

No power yet, and no hopes of getting it anytime today.  I think they’re working on it during banker’s hours, and the bank has been closed for the holidays.  This power thing isn’t anything new to the park.  It’s been working itself to the surface for the last few years.  And now it’s finally caved in completely.  Right on time so that we can enjoy our winter.
We had the generator running this morning to recharge our batteries from running the furnace last night.  We also got TV at the same time even though my Fox and Friends didn’t record at all this morning.  I can’t get up early enough to watch it live here.  I’d have to get up at 3 in the morning.  A little early just for news.
I gave Terry and Jo-Anne a call this morning to see if they were going to “Taco Wednesday” at the VFW for lunch.  They didn’t seem too excited, but I had called Phil and Joyce last night and they would meet us there.
When we got to the VFW the place was stacked with people.  As busy as we’ve ever seen it there.  Phil and Joyce were there and had found us a place to sit anyway.  Again we were one of the last ones to leave the club today.  After lunch they came back to Catalina to swim for awhile.
The pool was a little cooler than it was yesterday.  And yesterday was cooler than it was the day before.  I still think it’s over 90 degrees.  It’s still quite warm, but just not as warm.  You can tell the difference when you swim in it every day.
By 4 PM we were back home and had invited Phil and Joyce over for a beverage before they headed back to Thousand Trails.  We sat and talked for 45 minutes or so and then they were off to head home.
Sharon was hungry for supper, but I wasn’t, so she had some leftover Rigatoni from last night.  We watched TV tonight with the generator running.....again.  About 9 I finally got hungry and finished up the Rigatoni.  We didn’t stay up much later than that and when we went to bed we could still hear a couple of generators running.

No power yet this morning and we decided if we could find another site with power we’d move.
We went to McDonald’s for Breakfast this morning with Terry and Jo-Anne.  They had already eaten “Porridge” for Breakfast but they decided to come with us anyway and have coffee.  They each had a Breakfast sandwich to eat anyway.
We were back in about an hour and Sharon decided to take a walk and search a site out.  She was back in about a half hour with another site number with a little help from Brian, the computer guru, in the park.  It took us about 20 minutes and we were all set up and ready to go with power.
We were in plenty of time to take off for the pool this afternoon.  Roy and Maryanne Parent were in the pool today.  They arrived in town yesterday from Lower Michigan.  Friends we’ve known since we been frequenting Catalina Spa.  Terry and Jo-Anne also brought Dale and Barbara, friends from Canada, to the foray.
We had “Dirty Rice and Sausage” for supper tonight.  It was a little more spicy than the Red Beans and Rice we usually have, but it was very good anyway.
We had power and TV all night and day today until the clock struck 10.  At that point something popped and we were dark again.  I went outside to reset the Breaker but it wouldn’t reset.  So we were without power for the rest of the night.  Beautiful!!

We were up early, and showered, this morning cause we were planning to go to the casino for their Buffet Breakfast with a large group from the campground.  Our electric Breaker reset this morning for about 10 minutes before it popped again.
On our way out of the park we reported it to Security at 8 o’clock.  We figured it would be fixed long before we came back.  THAT was wishful thinking.  It wasn’t fixed, and nobody had intended to fix it until I called the office.  They were blaming the problem on my extension cords until I explained to them that the electric was working fine if I was plugged into my neighbor’s post.
They finally sent someone over and they removed the electric meter from the post and everything was fine.  Sometimes you just got to tell people they don’t know what the hell they’re talking about to get some solutions.  By time they got done screwing around with the electric we didn’t feel like going to the pool today.
Even though it was about suppertime we didn’t feel much like eating anything either.  I think that was mainly because of the colds we were nursing, and had been nursing for the past week or so.
Terry and Jo-Anne stopped by on their way home from the pool to ask us if we wanted to stop over tonight.
About 7 we headed over to their “house” and stayed for a couple of hours.  Dale and Barbara were also there.  By the time we got home I was fully expecting to see our power off again.  But it was on and stayed on for the rest of the night.

We still had power this morning when we got up, which was a blessing indeed.  But we were both dead tired.  Our colds have just been devastating to our sleep at night.  We end up coughing and hacking all night and then have to nap most of the day to catch up on our lost sleep.  It doesn’t look like the routine will change much today.  It gets to a point After Awhile where you don’t even feel much like eating anything.
Neither of us felt much like going anywhere or doing anything today so napping seemed like a real good idea.  In the4 background the TV was set to play the Football Play-off games.  It was actually hard to nap when you watched what was going on in the games.
It looked all the way through the games that the favorites were having a lot of trouble with the underdogs.  And at the end of both games the underdogs came out on top.
When “pool time” rolled around today even though it looked like a nice sunny day, the wind was blowing a little, and we decided to opt out of going.  Our time was better spent napping for the day.
Later on Terry and Jo-Anne stopped by to see if we wanted to go over to Dale and Barbara’s tonight at Caliente Springs RV Resort.  But I didn’t feel any more like socializing tonight than I felt like bobbing in the pool this afternoon.
Sharon took off for church about 3:30 this afternoon and on her way home she would pick up KFC for supper.  It’s almost become a ritual now on Saturdays.  With an 8 piece Dinner we usually have enough left over for another meal for the both of us.
After eating we just settled in front of the TV for the rest of the night, until it was time to go in the bedroom and cough and sneeze and hack for the rest of the night.

Another miserable night with the coughing and hacking coming from both of us all night.  We can’t afford to keep ourselves in medicine.  It’s the same old thing again.  Stay up all night and then nap all day.  We would only be catching up on our sleep until 1 today since they’ll be playing the Packer Play-off game at that time.
After Breakfast we watched the first play-off game and that one went about the way it was supposed to, unlike yesterday when the two underdogs won both games.
At 1 PM we settled in front of the tube wide awake and ready to watch Green Bay kill the Eagles. The wind picked up right after the opening kick-off and started play hell with the dish.  I went out and hooked up the cable and we watched the whole thing that way.  It wasn’t actually a killing, but it was pretty satisfying to see Rodgers win his first play-off game.  Green Bay will now play Atlanta next week.  The Falcons have already beat the Pack once so far this year.  We can only hope they won’t be that good next week.
The game really ran late today.  It didn’t finish until almost 5 o’clock.  By the time the game was over we sat right down to our supper.  Sharon whipped up a lovely spread of Sloppy Joe’s, Potato Salad and Steakhouse Beans. It was almost like “game-day tailgating.’  And it was all very good.  And of course everything turned out hunky- dorry with regard to the right team winning the game.
Our dish was useless tonight so we just kept the cable hooked up all night.  Besides the shows that we watch on Sundays were all coming on one after the other on the cable.
It’s going to be moving day tomorrow but we didn’t put anything our since we moved to this spot anyway.  I guess we were never convinced that we would have power that would be sustained.  But it has been and we stayed up til 10 before we gave up on the world for today.
