The start of another week would commence today.  I was up early again and published the Journal to our website as soon as I finished writing it this morning.  I had it up and running by 8:30.
Shortly afterward Sharon arose from the sleep coma and went on her walk.  By the time she got back and sat down for a half hour it was time for Breakfast and we sat down together and ate.  Different food, of course, She had her usual cereal and I had the leftover Scrambled Eggs and Ham and Hash Browns from yesterday.  I saved the leftover Biscuits and Gravy for tomorrow's Breakfast.
Dick and Linda Smith stopped over this morning and asked us if we wanted to go to a restaurant called "Sherman's" for Dinner tomorrow night.  We were more than willing to go since we haven't seen much of them since we've been back here.  It seems they're gone quite a bit and the times they stopped over we were gone.  They haven't been to the pool like we are every day, so we haven't seen them.  In any event we'll see them tomorrow night at Dinnertime.
I watched the Olympics again for most of the morning, and until it was time to go to the pool.  It seems that the pool has been cooled off by a degree or so and it feels much nicer than the heat that was when it was chilly outside.  It's still plenty warm and not going to cool off significantly anytime soon, I'm sure.
By the time we got home it was around 5 and time to catch up on some more Olympic games.  We would be having leftover KFC Chicken for supper tonight.  We still had some chicken and potato logs, Cole Slaw and Biscuits leftover so it would be another full meal.
Tonight was also the night for "24" on TV.  Even the Olympics can't pre-empt that show.  Although I did tape it to make sure I didn't miss it tonight.  Although on the news tonight they said that the shooting schedule for "24" was delayed because Kiefer Sutherland was admitted to the hospital today.  I'll have to wait to see what happened there.
We finished up the night tonight watching the Pair Figure Skating finals.  The US pairs weren't even in the mix tonight.  But at least it was reported unlike the ski jumping finals on the Normal Hill.
We actually watched Jeopardy on tape tonight just before we went to bed.  The Olympics had pre-empted Jeopardy at our regular time.

I got up and was typing my Journal this morning while all the people were walking by outside exercising their bodies while I was exercising my options.  I fail to see that I will be healthier and happier if I walk my butt off.  In any event I found it more productive to sit and watch my Fox and Friends on TV instead.  At least until it was time to turn on the radio and listen to Rush Limbaugh for a couple of hours.
When it was time for Breakfast I heated up the Biscuits and Gravy that was leftover from Sunday's "extravaganza of food".  After Breakfast we went up to Terry and Jo-Anne's to have coffee before Sharon was going to clean up the hacienda.  We stayed up there for about an hour before we finally came home and Sharon got to cleaning.
By noon the Olympics were on again and I watched them until it was time to go to the pool.  That time arrived by 2 o'clock and we headed out for the water.
We expected to see Terry and Jo-Anne at the pool today but they didn't show for a second straight day.  We were surprised to see Dick and Linda Smith saunter into the pool about an hour after we arrived.  They stayed for awhile and then left just before we did at 3:30.  We needed to leave early to get ready for Dinner tonight at Sherman's with Dick and Linda and Terry and Jo-Anne.
At 4:30, when we left for Dinner, I was taping the Olympics to zip through tonight when we got home.  Sherman's is mostly a sandwich place with a couple of Dinner specials thrown in.  Their food is absolutely fabulous and we enjoyed the Dinner very much, although 4 of us took half of our sandwiches home for later consumption.  They were huge.
We got back home again about 6:30 just before the Karaoke in the upper Clubhouse tonight.  All 6 of us went to the Karaoke and stayed until we picked up the chairs at 9.  Terry was singing all night............at the table.  He refused to show his stuff with the microphone.  I think we all had a good time, I know I did, singing about 6 times or so for the night.  There were almost as many singers as there were people there tonight.
After we came home we settled in front of the TV and the Olympics.  It took us just over an hour to zip through all the action for the night.  There was a couple of disappointments but for the most part, all the cream rose to the top.

Wednesday, February 17, 2010ASH WEDNESDAY

The DVR has been such a godsend this year.  It's the only way I can watch my favorite news show in the morning, Fox and Friends.  It airs out here between 3 and 6 in the morning.  Nobody gets up that early to see it.
Sharon was off on her walk this morning to see if she could find all the crap won at the Chinese Auction last night.  Usually after an auction you can find the stuff out at the Patio Sales the next day.
Terry and Jo-Anne stopped over for coffee before Sharon got back , but they were still here by the time she strolled up.  I guess they just wanted to know what time to pick us up for Taco Wednesday today.  The "magic time" is noon and they were right on time for the trip over.
When we got there we realized that they weren't very busy today.  We managed to find a table in the front room without a problem.  The back room had some tables with several chairs that were rolled up as though they were reserved for other people.  We didn't see a great influx of people while we were there, and our food came very quickly after it was ordered.  All indications were that the business that they enjoyed today was not up to par with what it usually is.
Sharon and I went to the pool after we came back home and stayed until it was time for Jeopardy.  I actually stayed a little longer but made it back for the Final Jeopardy answer.
Tonight would be taken up mostly with Olympics until later when we actually found time to watch an episode of NCIS and an episode of Criminal Minds.  Watching a little regular TV kept us up past our bedtime, however, so we delayed our retreat to the sleepy place.

Thursday, February 18, 2010

I was up typing my Journal this morningwhen Terry and Jo-Anne stopped over for coffee.  Sharon had just gotten back from her walk when she spotted them on theirs.  After about twenty minutes they asked if we wanted to go to the Cottage Too for Breakfast this morning.  Of course we couldn't refuse and they decided they would pick us up in 10 minutes.  We don't usually go out to eat without cleaning up and taking a shower but we made an exception this one time.  We have no intention of it becoming a habit anyway.
After we left the restaurant Terry had a couple of plumbing fittings to pick up so we drove around town and finally ended up at Blair Station, the RV place, where he found the fitting he needed.  Shortly after ward we were back home again.
The Olympics came on at noon today and I watched it almost up to two o'clock and pool time.  I took a time out to dump the holding tanks before we went off to the pool.
We stayed at the pool til around 4:30 and just in time for supper.    Actually I made it back for the final question on Jeopardy. Terry and Jo-Anne made it to the pool today after missing for 2 days .
Sharon took out Rib Eye steaks for supper tonight.  They were really thick so I let her Grill them.  I'm too impatient when cooking on the Grill, and these babies were at least an 1½" thick.  We had Baked Potato, salad and spaghetti along with the steaks.  It all was very good indeed and the steaks were fabulous.
We settled in tonight to zip through the taped Olympics and then get on board for the live stuff also.  We were happy to see a couple more American Golds come to fruition.  All in all it was a great day for the U.S.

Friday, February 19, 2010

We woke up this morning and it was a lot chillier than it had been previously.  The wind was howling pretty good today.  It looked like it was going to be a day that I would just stay close to the hacienda and not socialize at all today.
Sharon went for her walk early and I plugged in the heater which she unplugged when she got back.  It looks like it will be a fight today for the heat.
I had Olympics to watch this morning that had been taped late last night.  There wasn't much of anything going on today so I zipped through it quite quickly.
After lunch we still weren't interested in doing anything outside and that included going to the pool today.  So instead of just sitting around and doing nothing, we both took a little nap for ourselves.
Sharon made a little Mexican "thingy" for supper tonight which just seemed to lack something even though it tasted just fine.  It was a Hamburger Helper meal that was more like a thick soup than anything else.
Terry and Jo-Anne stopped by for a few minutes.  They had been working on the motorhome all day today.  I guess they were refinishing counter tops or something like that.  When they arrived Sharon had just put Banana Bread in the oven.  They were on their way to Cosco and Lowe's to eat and bring back some fittings.  Sharon invited them back to have Banana Bread later.
About 8 they came back and had some coffee and Banana Bread.  We watched Olympics together for a while and then they left.
We watched the games until they were over for the night and then caught another show on tape before we headed for the padded room.  The DVR was set to record late night games and we settled under the covers for the night.

Saturday, February 20, 2010

We were off this morning to the Agua Caliente Casino to have their Buffet Breakfast.  They only have it on the weekends now and the price is not the good deal that we're used to.  We were planning to meet Terry and Jo-Anne and Dick and Linda there.  We met them all just before 9 and entered the almost empty Dining Room.  It was so empty we had three servers waiting on our table.  The food was still excellent, though, much like it always was.  By the time we left after about an hour and a half the Dining Room was empty.  This present price of food in the buffet is not bringing customers into the casino.  We paid $19.55 for two, which included a 10% Discount and Tax.
After Breakfast we said our good-byes to Dick and Linda and headed over to the Wal-Mart on Monterrey.  I needed a watchband and Terry needed some cleaning solution for his countertops.  They didn't have either so we left ad headed for the Wal-Mart on Ramon and Gene Autry.  It was a few miles away but it seems it's  a little closer to the campground.  We found both items at the Wal-Mart and then turned for home.
By the time we got back I had last night's Olympics to catch up on and I got right to it as soon as I could.  It didn't take a long time to get caught up by zipping through the stuff I wasn't interested in.
By 2 it was time to go to the pool for the afternoon.  The wind was still blowing today but not as hard as yesterday The sun was out and it at least looked like a nice. Day.  The pool water, however, was as nice as it's been all year.
We left the pool early cause Sharon wanted to go to church tonight instead of tomorrow.  I was in charge of putting the pizza in the oven that she picked up this morning at Wal-Mart.  She managed to get out of church early cause they had a visiting priest saying the mass today.  So naturally the pizza wasn't even in the oven by the time she got home.  The oven was  pre-heated though so I just flung it in.  It takes about a half hour to cook a DiGiorno's pizza.  By the time we ate, the pizza was very good indeed.
We settled in watching the Olympics for the night and it was not a good day for the U.S. We did, however, watch until the bewitching hour fast approached.

Sunday, February 21, 2010

Sharon went for the dreaded walk today in the wind.  When she got back she whined about me not going.  When I do go which is not very often I end up in pain all day so I just don't care about walking anymore.  Sharon says I should walk my way through it but I don't remember her having an exercise therapist's degree.
I watched my Sunday morning political shows this morning, but it didn't seem like anything controversial was brewing this week.  It was all the same old garbage.  I cut them short after a while and turned to my taped Olympic coverage.
I was in charge of Breakfast this morning and we decided on French Toast and Bacon.  I whipped it all up in about a half hour and we sat down to enjoy our food.  Food and Olympics, what could be a better prescription.
By noon the live coverage for today was in full swing as we received a call from Terry and Jo-Anne to stop up and have a beverage.  They were still repairing stuff in the motorhome and they must have finished for the day.  We both had decided that it wasn't a nice enough day to go to the pool even though the water in the pool was probably over 90 degrees even with the wind that was blowing.
We stayed up at Terry and Jo-Anne for a couple of hours just sitting and talking and drinking beverages.  By 4 o'clock we couldn't agree on the time for the US/Canadian Hockey game so we came home thinking it would be on at 4 but it really didn't come on until after 4:30.  This was not a game that we wanted to watch with our Canadian friends, however.  The hype was that the US would get their tails kicked today but that's not what happened.  Except for the beginning of the second period, we played a fabulous game, hustling all the way through the 60 minutes.  In any event we did what we had to do, to hand the Canadians a loss.  Final score 5-3.
Me and the Mrs. were on our own for supper tonight.  We had enough leftovers hanging around the refrigerator to have a full meal a couple of times over.  Sharon dug into the leftover Rib Eye Steak, Baked Potato and a salad and I was more than content with leftover Pizza and Spaghetti.  I even had some Shrimp Etouffee' as an emergency backup.
All night tonight we tuned into the Olympics until the live coverage was over at 9.  We then watched a taped episode of House before we folded up our tens, made sure the cages were locked and headed for the feathers.
