The wind was still blowing this morning but not as bad as it was yesterday.  Sharon was off on her walk as soon as she got up this morning, and while she was gone I took a short trek myself.  My back felt pretty good this morning when I got done.  A little sore but not like it was last week when it hurt for two days afterwards.
I tried to catch up on my Olympic  tapes this morning but the amount of coverage is starting to overwhelm me.  It's a good thing I only have to zip through it to get caught up.
We went out for lunch today to a place in Rancho Mirage called Schmidy's Tavern.  We've been hearing on the radio about their $5 dollar sandwiches for lunch and wanted to check them out for ourselves.  I had a Philly Cheesesteak and Sharon had a Steak Wrap and they were both very good size, and very good tasting.  I think we'll be back again sometime.  We stopped at Stater Bros. On Date Palm on the way back home and picked up a few groceries.
By the time we got back home it was time to go to the pool.  We missed yesterday because of the wind but I decided I was going today regardless.  There weren't too many people there when we arrived at 2:30 but soon they started to come and fill up the hot tub and pool.  As warm as the water was today it actually seemed to turn a little cool when the sun was shaded from most of the pool.  I had to get out and run to the hot tub where the water was a nice 104 degrees.
After getting home I finally got caught up on my Olympic tapes and settled in to have supper.  Sharon took off with the laundry wanting to get it caught up while nothing was on TV or happening.  She ate when she finally got finished with the laundry.  We weren't eating the same thing tonight so it really didn't matter that we ate separately.
I found some Curling on the tape this afternoon so I saved it to watch tonight cause Sharon likes to watch it.  Neither of us knows what's going on during the game so it didn't take long for us to get bored with it.  Besides we had another 4 hours of tape to zip through anyway.
The end of the tapes brought us right up to bedtime and neither of us was interested in watching anything else on tape even though we had a few programs recorded.  We were both more interested in heading straight for the feathers.

Terry and Jo-Anne stopped by this morning just as Sharon was about to go on her walk.  They took her with them and I went out for my walk just after they left.  My walk is much shorter and designed to leave me pain free after I get done.  I also got back long before they did.  They stayed for a cup of coffee when they got back.  They're dog Ginger got the bones from our Rib Eye steak we had the other night.  Lucky dog.
We ate a late Breakfast and consequently a small lunch before we finally went to the pool at 2.  I had already caught up on the Olympic coverage that I had taped and the afternoon was already being recorded.  The pool was full of people today since most everybody skipped the pool over the last 2 windy days. We came home a bit early cause we had invited Terry and Jo-Anne over tonight for Play-Mor Burgers.  It's a double decker burger with two patties, one of beef and the other of Bratwurst.  Sharon also whipped up some Fries to go along with them.  It was all quite good indeed.
After Dinner we headed out to the Upper Clubhouse cause tonight was Karaoke night.  There were quite a few people there when we arrived and a few more showed up at the same time.  There was probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 or more  people in attendance.  Of that number about 10-12 were singers.  Sharon and I had another good time for the night.
We got back home at about 9:15 in plenty of time to catch up on the Olympics that had been recorded tonight.  By 10:30 I had only one tape left to watch and I retired to my bed.  Sharon was already there and doing her puzzle book.  I hit the bed and fell asleep immediately.

I was up and had finished my Journal by the time Sharon rolled out of bed at 9.  Terry and Jo-Anne called to see if she wanted to go with them but she wasn't up yet.  After I got off the phone she sauntered out of the bedroom.  She got dressed and immediately went for her walk, and ran into them on the road.  I also got out and went for another short walk around the block in the park.  I seem to have picked the right distance for myself since my back hasn't ached all week.
We were invited over to Terry and Jo-Anne's this morning for coffee and we went as soon as Sharon got back home.  We only stayed about a half hour and then came back home.
At noon we drove the car up to Terry and Jo-Anne's to pick them up for Taco Wednesday at the VFW.  By the time we got there at 12:15 the place was packed.  They hadn't called the 50/50 number which they regularly do at noon.  We waited until 12:30 before they got they're s____  together.  We only stayed for a couple of pitchers today.  By the time we left it was almost time for the pool anyway.
The pool , much like the VFW was very crowded today for a change.  I guess  . the lack of wind made up people's minds about coming to the pool.  Even Terry and Jo-Anne stopped by for a while.  We didn't get a chance to talk to them as they were gone before we knew it.
We came back home early today and caught up on a couple of episodes of Jeopardy.  After that we were ready to zip through the Olympics that we had recorded last night.  It didn't take too long today cause most of it was Curling   We had watched the Curling the other day and we don't know a darn thing about it so I just deleted most of it.  We managed to get caught up by 9 so we watched a repeat of CSI New York before we headed off to the "prone zone" and gave it up for the night.  Moving day is tomorrow, but we'll only go a mile up the road as opposed to Terry and Jo-Anne who need to go 30 miles up the highway.

Terry and Jo-Anne called this morning to see if we wanted to go to the Cottage Too for Breakfast before we move this morning.  We declined and got on with our move to Desert Pools.
Sharon was up early this morning since today was moving day.  We are only moving a mile down the road but we needed to get moving rather early.  As it turned out, we didn't have to move early to get a good site, cause we're so far back in the campground, I didn't even know they had sites back here.  But the sites are nice and clean and we've got a couple of nice neighbors with NO wind chimes near our bedroom window.
We were in our site and settled by 10 and the satellite dish was set up and running.  I taped part of the Health Care Summit that was taking place at Blair House in Washington.  It was just a press conference to make the Republicans look bad, but the tables got turned and made Obama look like an ill-prepared boob who doesn't even know what's in his own bill.  Democrats are still trying to revive this Turkey even though it's dead, cooked and already carved up.
I spent the morning catching up on Olympic coverage and getting ready for the recordings this afternoon.  By 2:30 we were ready for the pool but we had to drive a mile down the road to get back to Catalina and swim.  By the time we got there I asked if someone took down the "Beware of Sharks" sign at the pool.  It was very crowded and busy today.  It's a good thing that nobody swims in the pool.  Actually there are always a couple of idiots who think they can swim through a crowd and even try.
We were back home tonight in time for Jeopardy and watched that before we got into our Olympic coverage live.  We actually even got to watch something else tonight besides Olympics.  We watched The Mentalist and CSI NY even though they were both repeats.
We managed to watch everything we wanted tonight before the dark curtain of night crashed to the earth and rendered us unconscious.

After going for a walk this morning, I settled in front of the TV to catch up on all the Olympics coverage that I still had pending.  A lot of it now is just repeats of stuff I've already seen this last week so zipping through it is quite easy.
When Sharon got back from her walk I cooked Breakfast for the two of us.  We were having Egg McMuffins and they turned out very good indeed.  Then after Breakfast and showering, Sharon took off to have her hair cut.  She'll come back looking...................who knows.
Before she came back she called and asked if I wanted her to stop for lunch.   I suggested McDonald's and a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese.  I knew she'd probably have a salad and a Hot Fudge Sunday.  She also managed to bring a couple of Apple Turnovers for me.
This afternoon we both relaxed and took a nap for ourselves.  We were still resting when 2 o'clock rolled around.  It was time for the pool but neither of us felt like going.  Besides we could only stay for a little while since we were planning to go to the VFW for Ribs tonight and had to be there by 4:30 to be able to get a seat.
By the time we left for the VFW and arrived there it didn't seem like it was going to be busy tonight.  We didn't have a problem finding a place to sit.  We couldn't order til 5, and the waitress didn't actually take our order til about 5:15.  We waited until 6:20 having been served a small salad in the meantime, but still no food.  When they started serving all the people around us, who had ordered after us, I had had enough and told Sharon I was leaving.  She decided she was staying, and I got up and left.
There were a couple of people sitting next to us from Desert Pools and apparently she got a ride home from them.  After she got home she took the car and left, apparently pissed at me.  I didn't find out until later that she had gone shopping while she was gone.
After she got home she didn't say a word to me, which was just as well cause it would have started an argument anyway.  After I finished my Olympic coverage we both went to bed without comment.

It looks like the fallout from last night will continue through today and beyond.  I just played along and didn't add any more fuel to the fire, but it looks like we won't be speaking to each other today.
I was more than content to watch Olympics today since that's what I've been doing for the past several days anyway.  It seems that more and more of the coverage is stuff that I've already seen anyway.  It's mostly just fast-forwarding through it to see if there's anything I haven't seen.
There was nothing much happening today except for this afternoon when Sharon took off for church.  I was informed that there was Chili for supper and that I could eat any time that I wanted.  I waited til she got home but there wasn't any conversation from her over the dining table, even though I complimented her on the Chili.
I watched my Olympic coverage and a couple of other taped shows tonight before it reached the hour of 10 and I went to bed. (But not before she asked me if I thought I owed her an apology.  My answer was not what she wanted to hear so I guess this will continue for awhile)

I was up this morning typing my Journal when the silent mistress arose and went for her walk.  I was feeling pretty good also this morning so I went for a short jaunt also.
By the time I got back I was feeling up for a big Breakfast and asked the "quiet one" if she was up for it.  I don't know if she thought it was a peace offering or not.  It wasn't.  I was hungry and not afraid to admit it, and was willing to cook her a meal if she wanted it.  When we sat down to eat we were talking again.  It's much more pleasant this way.
After Breakfast I caught up on all my taped coverage of Olympics.  I wanted clear the decks and get ready for the hockey game of the century at noon.  The game started put looking very depressing, but when the U.S. tied it up at the end of the 3rd period, it was looking pretty good.  Then they came out a little lax on defense in the overtime period and before anyone knew it the game was over.  Canada didn't take long to cut our legs out from under us.  The final outcome was a big disappointment for us Americans, but it would have been devastating for the Canadians to lose.
We had Spaghetti and Meatballs for supper tonight.  We also had a small salad and Garlic Bread to round the whole thing off.  Sharon had a touch of wine and I settled for a glass of Coke.  It was a very nice Dinner, with conversation and everything.
Closing ceremonies would be on TV for most of the night and we sat and watched them until the end.  We even had time to watch a couple of shows on regular TV that we taped during the closing ceremonies.
Neither of us felt like staying up past the bewitching hour however.  We were tired from 13 days of Olympics and needed the rest.
