We were off this morning early not knowing how long it would take to get to my Acupuncturists new office. It was actually very easy to find and it took us exactly 33 minutes to get there. The new office is in LaQuinta about 25 miles from home. It only took a half hour after we got there to be all done.
We were quickly on our way to Fun Seekers to find out if the scooter charger was working correctly. It took almost as much time there as it took at the Doctor's. Somehow that didn't seem right. But I did get a clean bill of health for the charger also. So my problems with the charging are with the setup that I have at home.
It was about lunchtime by the time we got back on the road and headed home. We were looking for some place to stop for lunch that would be different than what we've been having lately. In our search we found an IHOP, Red Robin and Burgers and Beer. We had eaten at a Burgers and Beer in Yuma with Clay and Jerie Nye and just loved it. So we decided to give them a try today and weren't disappointed. There's a television screen at every booth, and of course a half dozen or so screens hanging from the ceiling. The food was excellent and the beer was quite potent. We left there feeling the effects of two pitchers of suds.
By the time we got home it was time for the pool. Sharon stopped at the office to check mail at 2:02 but it was already closed for the day. It's the only thing that runs on time.
We were almost in the pool by ourselves today before the "Michigan Gang" showed up. The water is now at 90 degrees and very lovely indeed. We left just before 4 and just in time for Jeopardy.
We were snacking for the night tonight. The "Burgers and Beer" lunch would hold us for some time tonight. We had good TV on tonight starting with 24 and finishing with a couple of sitcoms that we normally watch earlier in the evening. It had been a long day for us for a change. We were ready for the Rack by the time we closed our eyes and ended our day.

I had to check out the scooter this morning to see if the charger was putting voltage into the batteries. It seemed to be working just fine, which leads me to think that perhaps the batteries are charging but the indicator is faulty. While it's showing "empty" they may be full. I'll have to leave it on charge another day, and then see what the voltage in the batteries is tomorrow.
Sharon was off to the Post Office this morning to mail something out. She was also going to stop at the grocery store to pick up a few things for the end of this week and the start of the next. After she got home we put away the groceries and that took us right into lunchtime.
She had informed me before she left for town not to eat anything cause we were having BLT's for lunch today. I asked for them a couple of weeks ago but we didn't have the ingredients then. I know Sharon loves them and I can also eat them pretty easily.
After lunch we headed for the pool. The Inauguration was going to be on TV all day today and I was already tired of watching it. I now know that he's the first black president to be elected in this country. And if we have to go through all this bullshit fanfare again, for the next one, I hope he's the last one.
The pool was empty today when we arrived. I guess everybody was watching the inauguration of the "first black president" of the United States. It didn't take long, however, before the pool started to fill up. With the water at 90 degrees, I guess people thought it was better to come swimming, than listen to all that TV drivel.
We were home in time for Jeopardy but the "first black president" was still on the airwaves. He was screwing up the programming until at least 7 tonight.
We were having Pork Chops for supper tonight by a new recipe. They had a Tangerine sauce that was put on top and it was quite "sweet." I didn't much care or it and I think Sharon felt the same way. We'll never see that recipe again and I won't be disappointed. We also had Mashed Potatoes and a salad for Dinner.
After 7 we had some repeats on that were worth watching another time. At least they kept us awake until 10, at which time we folded up our tents and headed south.

I went out this morning and started checking the scooter's batteries to see if I could figure out what was going on with that thing. After a couple of checks I couldn't get any voltage out of the new batteries and I got disgusted and gave up.. I'm ready to just toss that damn thing into the dumpster and quit putting good money after bad.
We got a call from Phil this morning telling us that they were coming over for Taco Wednesday. They were bringing Dick and Linda Smith with them. And just before we left for the VFW we got a call from Corky and Deb Zimmermann telling us that they were planning on joining us also. It seems that we would be having 8 of us for the party. Surprisingly when we got there we had a place to park the car, and a place to sit all eight of us down to have lunch. In fact the 50/50 hadn't been called yet, and Sharon even managed to buy some tickets along with everyone else. We had a great lunch with the 8 of us.
I talked to Corky about the scooter and he offered to come over and take a look at it for me. I was still frustrated and disgusted with it, so any offer of help was quickly accepted. And, in fact, he confirmed what I suspected was part of the problem. That the battery indicator may not be working correctly. I was determined to think that it was working correctly and that was also a part of the problem. He found loose connections on the battery which were causing the most recent failure of the scooter not working at all. He also informed us of the "Askus" section of the scooter's website. We were all quite bewildered by the revelation. It was all cleared up when he explained that it was the "contact us" portion of the website. (People from Wisconsin talk funny)
After the scooter was fixed, we went up to jack and Rosann Derlein's for awhile until it got dark and cold outside. We watched the sunset from on top of the hill of the Upper Campground, and when the sun settled behind the mountain, it was quite pretty.
We came home and settled in for TV for the night. I actually settled in for TV while Sharon napped on the couch for the next couple of hours, and then went to bed at 9. She had had a long day. I was ready for the curtain to fall on my day also by 10 o'clock.

Sharon was off on her walk this morning, as usual. I, on the other hand, was content to remain at home and take my shower and get cleaned up. The battery on the motorhome was dead this morning so I got out the charger and got that going. Every once in awhile when we sit for a couple of weeks, we have the battery on the engine go dead. This condition never comes as a surprise any more. I usually just start the engine a couple of days before we have to move, to see if it's still working or not.
I also got out my compressor to fill up the scooter's back tire, and found out that it wasn't working either. While filling the tires before leaving home I was having a problem with it. I had to go to a tire dealer's to have them topped off. That was quite a bother. The back tire on the scooter needed some air. The tire requires 85 lbs. But I could only get the compressor up to 50. It looks like I will have to replace that also, and another 50-some dollars will hit the dust. I actually did get enough in the tire to take a little spin on it.
By noon we were getting ready to go to the Pak Inn for lunch. We knew that Jon and Kris Fraser ( a couple from Canada that we met last year), Dick and Linda Smith and Phil and Joyce would be there. We left home about 12:15 cause it was going to take us some time to get there. The food at Pak Inn was excellent, as usual.
We had to go to Wal-Mart on the way home to pick up a few items. We found everything we needed except the Business Card pages for our album. We'll have to try Office Max or some other business place for the pages
By the time we got back home we were too late for the pool but just in time for Jeopardy. This is the second day in a row that we've missed the pool. I hope this doesn't turn into a habit. We may as well be in Michigan if we're not going to be in the pool. NOT!
We would just sit in front of the Telly for the night, still digesting our extravaganza from the Pak Inn. I do love going to that place, if even only a couple of times, for all the weeks that we're here. It's not as good as the Casino Breakfast, but then I prefer Breakfast as my favorite meal. And the best part is that Breakfast comes every morning. I just don't get to eat a good one every morning.
Tonight at 10 when I give up the ghost I'll go to bed and dream about Omelettes, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, etc. I'm getting full again already.

We were off again this morning to my Chiropractor/Acupuncturist's Office to get another treatment this morning. Instead of needles this morning she decided to give me an adjustment instead of a multiple perforation, so to speak. We were on our way toward home in about a half hour, right after we were told that our insurance wouldn't cover the acupuncture. If it works, it'll be worth it.
On our way home we stopped at In-N-Out Burger to have a little snack for the day. Damn those burgers are good.
We were early for the pool by the time we got home so Sharon decided she would do a load or two of laundry in the meantime. She couldn't find a machine open so she opted out of that idea, at least for the time being.
When we went to the pool we found the water at 95 degrees. It was quite warm indeed and almost as hot as bath water. It did feel delicious to soak in it for a couple of hours, however. The Brown's and Parent's showed up after about a half hour. They're both moved over to Desert Pools for the time being, perhaps two weeks. Actually Roy showed up first, as he was playing poker with the gang in the poker room today. He got eliminated early and ended up in the pool before the others appeared.
We got back home just in time for Jeopardy. We had been in the pool and hot tub for three hours. A bit longer than we're usually in there. My doctor suggested that I ice down my back after being in there but I forgot until after 6 or so. I was actually feeling pretty good for a change.
Sharon decided that we would be having the other half of the Cornish Game Hens that we had earlier this month. They were waiting for us in the freezer and Sharon was waiting for a special occasion but she decided that the time was right for the devouring. We had Rosemary Game Hens with sauteed peppers, Garlic Bread and dipping sauce. We chased them down with Whiskey Old Fashioneds and it was all quite nice.
We squatted in front of the TV and waited for whatever it had in store for us for the night. We settled on Network TV until later on when I found a movie that I wanted to watch called Wind Talkers. I was up until 10:30 before I crashed and burned also.

After getting ready this morning we were off to town so Sharon could do some more shopping at K-Mart and pick up a few things. They were supposed to have electric carts for shopper but they were all in use by the time we got there.
Our first stop, however, was McD's to use our coupons for two Big Macs for the price of one. It was early so we found a seat inside without much trouble. This McDonalds is so small that they have very little seating inside. After lunch we headed over to K-Mart.
Since there were no carts available I sat in the car while Sharon went inside to do her shopping. It took her about a half hour to get what she wanted, but she couldn't find the kind of card that she wanted for Brady's Birthday.
We were headed back home anyway cause she didn't want to stop anywhere else.
When I got home I got on the scooter and rode it all over the Lower Park. I t5hink it's working quite well now. I didn't try to get into the Upper Park cause I really don't think its got enough power to make it up the hill. In any event I think this confirms the need to have bought the new batteries, since I only made it up one row before it conked out and died before. When I rode it today it didn't seem to have lost any power after about a mile of riding. I've got Corky to thank for that since I was ready to give up on it.
The pool was still 94 degrees today even though the wind was blowing today. The Santa Anna Winds are giving us a little taste of what's to come. We lasted in the pool and hot tub until Jeopardy came on and then we were both home to improve our knowledge. Yeah Right!
Sharon was off to church and I was in charge of the Pigs in a Blanket and Boston Baked Beans. When she got back, supper was put in the oven and we ate about 15 minutes later.
We settled in front of the TV for the night. There wasn't much on but then we've suffered through that before and we just surfed until we found something. Besides where were we going anyhow.

Today was a "move" day, and we were off and running about 9:30 headed for Yuma , Arizona. We would lose and hour on the way and we arrived about 2, Yuma time. The distance to our campground is about 177 miles, but we actually stopped for gas at 1.889 when gas was selling for 2.05 in the Valley. We stopped for Propane also but got screwed on that deal. We paid 1.65 and it was selling for 1.05 in the campground. Sometimes it just doesn't matter how diligent you are, you can always get screwed by someone selling something.
We managed to eat light for lunch since we had already decided to go to Red Lobster and have their Grilled Lobster, Shrimp and Scallop Dinner for Supper tonight. We actually went to Dinner later on and on the way into town I noticed that the Oil Light was on in the car. Sharon explained that it had been on last week but the knowledge didn't seem to bother me then. I, however, don't remember the conversation and then explained to her the seriousness of the problem. Red Lobster was on our way into town so I decided to stop for the oil on our way home. Our Dinner was absolutely fabulous. Sharon gave me her shrimp and I gave her my scallops. It worked out beautifully. We also had a Green Salad and fresh hot biscuits in a bread bowl. I also managed to have a Malibu Rum Hurricane for "Dessert". It was also very good indeed.
We picked up oil and a newspaper at a gas station on the way home. I put a quart in at the station and the light went out. I'll check the oil in the car in the morning to see if it needs the second quart. Hopefully it won't, or I'll put it in then.
We pretty much just squatted in front of the Television for the rest of the night. There were a couple of good shows on, but nothing to write home about. We spent most of the night just enjoying the digestion of our food. It had been a pretty good day.
