The rain was falling this morning and threatening to fall all day.  But that stop us from being up and having a plan.
We were off this morning with Dick and Linda and Terry and JoAnne to the casino for Breakfast.  Because we had 6 people we had to step aside and wait for a table again.  The line this morning was getting longer to get into the Dining Room.  By the time we left, there was at least 40 people waiting to get in.  They may have been waiting for lunch cause it was about 10:30 when we left.
On the way home we stopped at Outdoor Resorts of Palm Springs to see Jon and Kris Fraser but they weren't at home.  The park is quite huge and very difficult to find anybody without a map.  We left and headed for the homestead back in Desert Hot Springs.  It was still raining by the time we got home.  This looks like its going to be crappy all day.
At about 12:30 Terry and JoAnne stopped over and we went to the Manager's Meeting. I "promised"Sharon that I would behave at the meeting.  And as a matter of fact I didn't say a word during the meeting except to make comments to Terry about the bullshit that was being told to us.  The meeting lasted about an hour and then they came back to our house where Sharon had coffee and Banana Bread waiting for us.  They stayed for about an hour and then they left.
I worked on my final argument for my court case today.  I am allowed to make a "telephone appearance" for the hearing, but I needed an argument for the session.  It took me about an hour and a half to come up with 2 typewritten pages.
Tonight was Monday and "24" was going to be coming on tonight.  Sharon had Red Beans and Rice with Kielbasa made for supper tonight.  She decided she wanted to throw a can of corn in with it, and it was delicious, to say the least.
Dick and Linda stopped over tonight when they got back from their day out roaming.  They were supposed to go to the Living Desert today, with friends, but the rain put an end to that.  They stopped over just to say good-bye.  They're due to leave tomorrow and headed for Ehrenberg over by Quartzsite.  We said our good-byes and wished them well on their trip.
Me and the Mrs. Stayed up until 10 but both of us will be up early tomorrow morning.  I'll have my clock set for 5:30 so I'll be ready for the 7 o'clock hearing.  We're hoping that something good will come out of this hearing but it doesn't look good.

The Hearing was convened promptly at 7 AM and by the time it was over I felt that we got a "tie" when it was done.  The Court found that I had a contract and that it was breached, but because I couldn't prove damages the case was being dismissed. He left the possibility of another suit open if I can prove damages in the future.  I'll file again as soon as I get home.  If I can keep the city from changing my insurance for a while I will have succeeded in my goal.
Sharon got up early and was laying on the couch listening to the hearing.  We were both happy with the outcome even though we didn't win outright.  We still have the chance of winning the next time.
I had another appointment with the "Needle Doctor" this morning.  It went very well I think.  The Acupuncture seems to be working but it's hard to tell.  I'm certainly walking more now than I have since the surgery.
After the Doctor we had to stop at Wal-Mart grocery so Sharon could pick up some stuff for supper tonight.  We had invited Terry and JoAnne over for Dinner tonight to have Pasties.  They'd never had Pasties before so it'll be something different for them.
We got home about 1:30 and Sharon started in on the Pasties immediately.  We weren't going to the pool today because the water was at 97 and it was a little "windy and cold" today.  It was just not nice enough to go "swimming."  So we weren't missing a thing by not going to the pool.
I finished up the Newsletters today so I'll get them in the mail tomorrow.  They are so late this month it isn't funny.  I like to try to get them out at least by the end of the month.  I failed miserably this month, so next month it should be early.
Terry and JoAnne came over about 5 and we had a couple of drinks before we sat down to Dinner.  Terry, for the most part, doesn't drink so he had coffee.  And we sat down to eat around 6.  They seemed to like the Pasties very much.  We also had a salad that I had to choke down.  I was drinking Rum and Coke so I probably could have choked down anything.
We sat around and talked for a couple of hours after Supper and had a good time.  They left about 9 and we settled in for some Telly.  There were repeats on tonight anyway so it really didn't matter what we watched.  Sharon headed for her puzzle before 10 rolled around and I followed after not much longer.

I was up typing my Journal when Terry and JoAnne made an appearance at the door.  Sharon had to make a dash to get a robe on before I opened the door.  She always walks out in the morning in her nightgown.  Oh well.
We had to get ready to move this morning so Sharon didn't get a chance to go for her walk.  Of course it never takes us more than a half hour to get ready to move.  We'll only be moving a mile down the road for a week to Desert Pools Resort which is a Western Horizon property.  We were set up and ready to go at 11.
Ready to go because today was Taco Wednesday and we'd be going with the Bertamini's.  They took their own car because they thought we'd be staying late, and they didn't want to hung up over there.  We called Corky and Deb Zimmermann but Corky was tied up playing in a Volleyball Tournament.  Some of these old people are just too busy.
We got home relatively early this afternoon and decided to go to the pool at Catalina.  The Browns and Parents were in the pool when we arrived and the Bertamini's came shortly afterward.  The pool was a tepid 88 degrees and it didn't even seem that warm.  Probably because it was warmer outside today.  We stayed in there and the Hot Tub for a couple of hours and then we came home.
Neither of us was hungry for Supper so that meant that we would be on our own for tonight.  Sharon had Hot Dogs with BBQ on them and I finally just finished up the BBQ on a couple of Buns.
We settled in for TV tonight with nothing else to do.  We had repeats on all night.  It seems like TV just get crappier and crappier every year.  If it wasn't for original programming on "24" and a couple of other shows it would be completely useless.  I pretty much napped in my chair most of the night and it doesn't even recline any more.  We lasted until 10 tonight but just barely.  It was finally a choice between laying down and sleeping and sitting upright and sleeping.  I am outta here!!

We were both up early this morning.  I was up typing my Journal when Sharon rolled out of the sack.  We both had plans this morning for our day.  She had planned to wash the motorhome and I had planned to fix my recliner.
Terry and JoAnne came over just as Sharon started her job.  They were on their morning walk and this was their rest stop.  Before I knew what was happening Terry had grabbed a wrench and had my recliner off the pedestal and ready to put the cable in.  I was mostly left in a supervisory role at that point.   Terry and JoAnne stayed for a coffee break and a drink of water for Ginger and then shot the breeze for a while.
I had to put the Battery Charger away.  When we went to move from Catalina to Desert Pools our Engine Battery was dead as a doornail.  I don't know what that means cause I'm not familiar with doornails, but the Battery was stone cold dead.  We put the charger on for 15 minutes which brought it back enough to get it started and on the road.  I left it on last night overnight just to get it back again.
My next job was to find the Password for the Wi-Fi here at Western Horizon.  We only pay $8 a day because we don't take the 50 Amp or the Wi-Fi.  Why pay for something that you're not going to use?.
Sharon got done with the wash job about the same time that I found the Password.  It was just about lunchtime anyway so we came in and had lunch.
After lunch and around 2 PM it was time for the pool.  The weather today was nice and warm and we're hoping that the pool is also going to be warm and welcoming.  Even with all the new equipment installed the pool has still been under 90 degrees since we've been back from Yuma.  But the weather is now getting nicer so the tepid pool is sometimes not a problem.
We had planned to go to the Street Fair with Terry and JoAnne tonight since their plans with Jon and Kris Fraser had fallen through.  We usually go to the Street Fair in Palm Springs at least once while we're here anyway, and today was as good as any.  We decide that we'd eat downtown as long as we were there and went to Ruby's Diner for sustenance.
As we got on the street, I walked quite a ways for me.  I got tired easily but my leg seemed to hold out better than my back.  That's a good sign for me.  It was always the leg that held me back before.  There were a minimum number of purchases made tonight.  Terry bought a couple of bags of licorice and when we got home he gave me a bunch of both red and black.  Yum, Yum.
We were home in time to catch all the TV for tonight.  I had to stay up until 11 to catch everything but what the hell else did I have to do.  Sharon cancelled her day at 10 and folded up her tent.

Sharon was up and off on her walk this morning.  By the time she got back she decide to take off with the laundry.  I still had to hook up the sewer hose so I got on it as soon as she left.  The hose I needed was crushed in a couple of places and the bad parts needed to be cut out.  It only took me about 20 minutes and I had it connected and pumping water again.  By the time Sharon finished with the laundry Terry and JoAnne had come over to check and see what time we were going for Fish Fry tonight.
By 2:30 we were ready for the pool and got in the car and drove over to Catalina to take a dip.  Terry and JoAnne showed up just after we did but the rest of the Michigan contingent was there already wondering where we were at.  They reported that this was their first day working at the Frank Sinatra Golf Tournament.  They steered us onto the Kraft Nabisco/Dinah Shore Tournament a few years ago, and we worked it, until they required a $75 donation to volunteer to work.  That put an end to our participation.
We came home about 4 to get ready to go to the VFW tonight for the Fish Fry.  We left to pick up Terry and JoAnne about 5 and headed out to the VFW.  Sharon and I finally had the Friday Chicken Dinner for a change.  We had seen it delivered to other tables on different occasions, but we had never had it.  JoAnne had the battered Cod and Terry had Meatloaf.  It was quite all quite good.
On the way home we stopped at Stater Bros. for a few items and Terry insisted on buying a Cherry Pie for our consumption later.  Sharon had Ice Cream in the freezer so after we dropped them off they came over to our house after shopping.  We all had a piece of Cherry Pie an Ice Cream before we retired to our separate abodes and watched a little tube until the cows came home.  Our cows came home about 10 but I still managed to sack out in my newly repaired recliner until about 12:30.  That usually doesn't happen unless I've been dipping my beak in adult beverages.

We were off this morning to check out some Rummage Sales with Terry and JoAnne.  We got to the first place and I took the scooter out of the trunk and was surprised that it went about 50 feet and the battery was dead.  It hadn't been plugged in since Yuma, but I really figured the battery would hold it's charge because of the type of battery it was.  We managed to get the gatekeepers to let us in with the car so there was no problem.  Our shopping trip was cut short by the number of people having sales so we went over to Caliente Springs to check out the Craft Sale there.  Besides Terry and JoAnne had never been to Caliente Springs before.  They, like everybody else we know, were very impressed by the pool area.
It didn't take long to zip through the craft sales at Caliente Springs so we decided we would go to the Cottage Too for Breakfast.  Everybody ordered something different but we all had the special.  It was very good and very reasonable.  The only place cheaper is the casino.  I'll be hitting that sometime this week for sure.
By the time we came back home we were content to just sit and watch TV for the rest of the day.  In fact we both took a little nap after watching a little TV.  The rest of the day we just relaxed.
Sharon was off to church about 4 and reported to me that we would be having a DiGiorno's Pizza for Supper.  We both like that pizza very much, and on church nights we always have something simple.  I don't ever expect Sharon to cook after she comes from church.  I managed to put the frozen pizza in the oven with the cardboard for the designated amount of time, and the pizza managed to attach itself to the cardboard very nicely.  When Sharon discovered the cardboard, she cut the unbaked crust from the cardboard and put it back in the oven for 10 minutes.  The pizza, however, tasted very good even considering the mishap.
For the rest of the night we settled in front of the idiot box and vegetated.  I actually watched TV tonight instead of napping.  I think I finally caught up on all the naps I've missed since the cable on my recliner was broken.  Hopefully the fix will continue for many years.

We got a leisurely start this morning but the Bertamini's were coming over for Breakfast at 10.  We got a new Belgian Waffle maker last year and this morning the time seemed right to give it a go.  They came over just after 10 so I had to hold off on making the waffles until they got here and had a cup of coffee.  We were planning to top them off with Strawberries and Whipped Cream or Butter Pecan Syrup that Sharon had picked up in Yuma this year.  We also browned up a couple of dozen breakfast sausages to go along.  It all turned out very well and very filling.
After Breakfast Terry decided that he was going to show me how well his vehicle polish works compared to mine.  So he went home and picked up his polish and buffer and came back and proceeded to polish the front of the motorhome.  It turned out very nice but I didn't think any better than my buffer and polish.  It's just been a couple of years since it's been done.  There's been extenuating circumstances.
The three of us just sat around and watched him buff and buff.  We even had a couple of beers and he had coke while we watched.  He managed to spray everybody with polish in the process, including their dog, Ginger.  Sharon managed to spray Ginger with beer at one point when Terry came out with one of his rare one-liners.
They had to get home because they were invited out for Dinner tonight, and they left about 4 o'clock.  That was quite a Breakfast from 10 til 4.  Ha,Ha.
By this time Sharon decided to make Chicken and Noodles in Alfredo Sauce for Supper tonight.  She also heated up some Peas and we also had a Lettuce Salad with Grape Tomatoes and Red Onions.  It all turned out very good indeed.
After Dinner, we finished up the dishes and then sat down for our usual entertainment in front of the TV.  Our usual entertainment didn't disappoint with the usual repeats and lousy programming on a Sunday night.  If I expected anything different I would have been disappointed.
Sharon headed off at 10 for her nights rest and I followed shortly thereafter.  Another exciting evening.
