We were greeted with a nice sunshiny day today with the hopes it would warm up by this afternoon.
We got a leisurely start this morning, but apparently it was too leisurely. By the time we got to the Arley Coffee Shop (10:05) they had closed down Breakfast. We asked what time they close it down and we were informed that it was 10:15. I guess that this morning someone forgot their watch at home.
We left since we had no intention of eating lunch at 10 in the morning. We got back in the car and drove north about 8 miles to Houston and Chef Troy’s Restaurant. We had a great Breakfast, but it was a little pricier than we could have gotten away with at the Arley Coffee Shop.
After Breakfast we drove to Addison which was about 6-7 miles away to see if they had a Catholic Church in the town. Google reported that the Addison Church of God was catholic, but when we got there it didn’t appear to be catholic from its physical appearance. Sharon checked further and there was no evidence that it was Catholic. She found out it was part of a national organization of “Church of God” parishes. So aside from Cullman I guess she’ll still be driving to Jasper for her services on Sunday.
We kind of drove in a triangle this morning so getting back to Arley was only about 8-9 miles.
As soon as we got back Sharon checked out the laundry room to see if anyone was there. It was empty so I dropped her off and went back home.
I got my compressor out of a back compartment in the motorhome and got busy on the tires of the car. I found that all 4 tires were low as much as twenty pounds, but only one was showing a deflation posture. And that was the one I filled up Sunday morning. But I finally got them all up to 44 lbs. apiece. After I finished I dropped the car off at the laundry room for Sharon and walked home. It was only about 400' or so.
After I got back home again I had to reattach our sewer line again. It’s been laying on the ground since we moved the motorhome to get the TV reception. We’ve had perfect, reception since that time.
When Sharon got done with the laundry she had time to rest for awhile before she started on Supper tonight. She had decided earlier that we would be having Play-Mor Burgers for Dinner tonight. Play-Mor Burgers are one patty of hamburger and one patty of Bratwurst with cheese on both patties and put on a bun with raw onions and horseradish sauce. It is really quite good and better when cooked on the grill which she did. They turned out exactly as we suspected they would, and we even had a few Fried Potatoes to go along with them.
We settled in front of the TV tonight in hopes of watching some good programming. It seems that Mondays are now almost as bad as Saturdays. But we managed to find enough in our taped programs to carry us up to our retirement time.
We were greeted today with Mr. Sun with the hopes that it will remain, and this will be a lovely day. It was a little nippy this morning, however, it was enough of a threat to maybe have to wear long pants. But I toughed it out again today and donned my shorts.
We got a phone call today from Anytime RV that they’ll be coming over this afternoon sometime and wondering if we’ll be home. We had no plans to go anywhere today so we told them that anytime would be fine.
Will Perrell from Anytime RV arrived about 12:30 and got immediately to work. It took him less than an hour to change out the Transfer Switch. And $285.86 later we had a new Transfer Switch. It actually cost us a total of $498.36 counting the $212.50 it cost us to have him rewire the box a week ago.
We actually sat outside for almost the first time this year. It was too hot in the Sun and too Chilly in the shade. So we didn’t last long in the elements but at least we were out there.
After we came back inside Sharon whipped up some Red Beans and Rice with Sausage. We had a little taste of Cajun tonight and it was very good. Every once in a while we have a Dinner that’s a little Cajun. It usually ends up being an Etoufee’ or Shrimp Creole. But this time it was just a simple Red Beans and Rice.
Our usual network to watch was tied up tonight with an Elton John tribute except for NCIS at 7. We had to surf to find enough to watch tonight. Although we taped Deadliest Catch to watch later tomorrow. We had enough to watch even though our major network was tied up all night.
We stayed up tonight until our regular time to call it quits. It had been an expensive day without really trying to be.

Another sunshiny day today but still cool in temperature. We had a plan for today that we were going to carry out yesterday but Anytime RV called and was expected to show up and replace our Automatic Transfer Switch. He did, and we had to put off our plans until today.
We have driven past the Plaza Bonita Restaurant several times since we’ve stayed here twice in the past several months. We’ve never given it much thought until a couple of days ago. From the outside it doesn’t look like much of a restaurant, but on the inside, it’s a very “mexican” looking place, and the food was quite good. They don’t have an extensive menu but the food they do have is good. The staff is also very friendly. We had two lunches for under $20 and the two drinks were $2.29 apiece. I’m sure we’ll be back again, but maybe not this trip.
After lunch we took a ride down to Curry where there was a Thrift Shop that Sharon wanted to visit. The ride down there took us about 20 minutes or so and as long as we were there she stopped at a couple of other stores to pick up a few other items, including groceries.
We came back home and actually sat outside for awhile today. But after a while we found it to be too hot in the Sun, and too cool in the shade. The weather this year has been so unpredictable. Even when it’s nice, sometimes it’s not nice enough.
I was happy though cause it meant that I could go inside and partake in my most important activity during the winter, watching TV.
For Supper tonight we opted to go our own way. I was content with a bowl of Raisin Bran that I knew would hold me over til bedtime.
We had more stuff to watch on TV tonight than we had time to watch it. But that didn’t stop us from going to bed right on time.

We would be toughing it out through another nice and sunshiny day today. It would actually be a day without a cloud in the sky.
Sharon woke up this morning sneezing and coughing having forgotten to fill her CPAP with water last night. This looks like it’s going to be an all day thing. It makes me feel bad for her, cause it really isn’t her fault, but she does the suffering for it.
We really didn’t have anything planned for today but I knew that I should dump our holding tanks because the Black water will be full in a couple of days and I’ll still need to dump one more time before we get back on the road again. We leave here next Thursday heading home. It’ll take about 4-5 days because of the stops we need to make. We’d like to be home a week from this Sunday.
We actually sat outside today for a couple of hours, first listening to Rush, and then just enjoying some music. I must have enjoyed it more than Sharon cause she decided to go to bed and take a nap.
Before she went to bed she announced that she didn’t know what we were doing for Supper tonight. She said she didn’t fell like cooking anything. I told her that I would make it tonight and suggested Pancakes and Sausage. She said she thought that would be fine. Just before I started cooking she got up from her nap.
We had our pancakes and sausage tonight and they were very good. I make great tasting pancakes since I started putting flavored coffee creamer in the batter. I like to use Vanilla Caramel flavored powder. They turn out absolutely fabulous.
We got into position tonight in front of the TV to watch our regular programming. We also had two episodes of Deadliest Catch to watch that were on the DVR. We definitely had enough to watch to keep us awake until 11.
Friday, April 13, 2018FRIDAY THE 13th
We woke up again to another beautiful day. We’ve had so many of them in a row, that it’s hard to keep track of them.
For Breakfast this morning I had the leftover pancake mix and sausages from Supper last night. It was still very good.
We didn’t have anything planned for today, at least until Supper tonight
So I just sat around watching TV for the day. I don’t mind doing that and it’s probably my most favorite activity.
The TV programming was screwed up tonight and I found out this morning it was because of the U.S.’s strike on Syrian targets. Apparently it was a quite successful mission with all 3 of the areas targeted, hit.
It was certainly nice enough to sit outside for a while today. Sharon felt good enough to take her book and go outside for awhile. I joined her for about an hour or so.
We had decided earlier that we would go to Chef Troy’s for Dinner tonight and about 5 PM we left home to drive up to Houston. Houston is only about 9 miles from our campground, but the last time we were up there we got a two-for-one coupon from the waitress. They’ve got a very nice menu so we thought we’d take advantage of the offer.
Sharon had a Rib Eye Steak and I had Coconut Shrimp and they were both very good. The restaurant was quite busy with seating for about 70 people and it was still filling up when we left at 6.
We got back home and retired to our usual positions for the night. We certainly had enough to watch even though the programming was screwed up, timewise. I went to bed about 11 and Sharon stayed up for awhile after that.

We got up this morning and were greeted with a sky full of rain that was quickly emptying all over the ground. It looked like today was going to be a really wet one altogether.
We had a leisurely Breakfast this morning before we took off for the big city. We were going to Cullman to the Flea Market again today. We went last week but I only went through half of the building knowing that we had another weekend to catch the other half. It’s the biggest tool collection that I’ve seen so far so I want to make sure I didn’t need anything.
We spent about 30 minutes getting into town and another hour at the Flea Market. We dashed between the raindrops to get into the building and listened to the rain on the roof all the time we were in there.
We also intended to go to lunch at either Olive Garden or Applebee’s, but when we finished with the Flea Market, it was really too early to eat lunch. So we decided to make a visit to Wal-Mart to pick up a few items before we went to lunch. We were dodging raindrops on the way into Wal-Mart and 45 minutes later we were dodging different raindrops. It didn’t look like this was going to stop anytime soon.
It was a 10 minute ride to Applebee’s and this time we both got soaked even though we had the closest parking space to the door. The restaurant was nearly empty and we supposed it was due to the weather. We both had ribs for our lunch today but I with the TV today. don’t enjoy them as much as the riblets they used to serve, but they were still good by anyones judgment.
We got soaked again on our way back out to the car, and had the heat on in the car all the way back home. Both of us were pretty much dry by the time we got back home again.
Needless to say the rain affected our reception with the TV today, but it never really did go into a complete rain fade. We had a blue warning that the receiver was looking for a signal but we still did get the picture.
We stayed up until our usual time tonight before we headed off to the feathers. It was about 11 when the TV went off.
Sunday, April 15, 2018
We were up this morning and off to our usual Sunday morning activities. Me to the TV and my political shows and Sharon off to church. The rain had stopped by now and was replaced by the Sun. It looked like it was going to nice all day today.
The weather at home was not going to be nice, however. As we’re checking facebook this morning some of the towns around Iron Mountain are getting as much as 18 inches of snow. The temps this week will warm up and melt it, but I just don’t feel like driving in it.
My morning shows today didn’t really have anything spectacular to report. Jim Comey’s book was coming out and Stephanopoulus was interviewing him. Softball questions and innuendo will be in the news for the next week. It’s always interesting to see how far the Democrats will go to discredit the President and then claim that the Republicans do it too. I see Cong. Adam Schiff was already on TV this morning and he’s one of the worst liars and gossip mongers of all. But aside from that, the morning went pretty smoothly.
After church Sharon went in the Jasper to find a Walgreens drug store to find her diet powder. It’s cheaper at Walgreen’s than anywhere else.
By the time she got home I was watching the NASCAR Race at Bristol, Tennessee that got rained out today. They announced that they’ll finish it up today.
Sharon made Pasties today for Supper tonight. They turned out very good and they are one of my favorites.
After Supper we camped out in front of the TV. CMT Awards were on tonight but we didn’t watch them. We had stuff on tape that carried us through the night until bedtime.
