We were off this morning to find a restaurant for Breakfast and finally settled on Denny’s.  We got a fabulous Breakfast for a Grand total of $20.  It consisted of Two Eggs, Two Pieces of Bacon, Hash Browns and Two Pumpkin Pecan Pancakes, and Coffee.  By the time we left there we were satisfied for the entire day.
Sharon had an attack of work when we left there.  We came back home and she decided to clean up on the laundry so we wouldn’t have to do it at Casa Grande where it’s more expensive.  Then she gave me a haircut and vacuumed up the fallen hair.  She then decided the car needed washing so she took care of that with a rag and a bucket. (The only method that doesn’t draw attention)
After my haircut I went outside and dumped our Gray water and refilled the water tank.  Disconnected all our hoses and announced we were ready to leave tomorrow.  It fell on deaf ears as she was still looking like a whirling dervish.
I knew she was done when she came inside and announced, “I need a glass of Iced tea.”
Dave and Joyce Zuzelo, who had been gone all day tending to the Carpenter, Electrician and Plumber for their new house, knocked on the door later in the afternoon.  They told us they would stop over after they were done out at the house today.  They stayed for a couple of hours just chatting.  Dave and Joyce are both very personable.
After they left we sat down for Dinner tonight.  We were planning on spaghetti and meatballs tonight but we were both too hungry to wait for that, so we had Coney Dogs for Supper instead.  They may have been a better choice in retrospect.
We assumed our regular positions for theater mode tonight.  We were surfing back and forth tonight but the programs are now repeats.  We finally settled for Lockup on MSNBC which we had taped from last weekend.  We were in bed by 10 so it didn’t entertain us that long.

`We left Deming this morning and as luck would have it, the last gas station in town was selling for less than anywhere on our way to Casa Grande, AZ.  Sharon had spotted it just as we were about to hit the Interstate.  We quickly turned in and picked up a tank for $1.81.
We thought we would stop at the Texas Canyon Rest Area between Wilcox and Benson and eat lunch, but when we got there it was closed. So we drove on to Benson and stopped at McDonald’s for lunch today.  We had a fifteen minute lunch and then we were back on the road again.
We got into and settled in our campground by 2 PM.  The campground is right next to the highway and it might be quite noisy tonight.  We just sat and relaxed for the next hour or so before we went to my cousin Tom McKenna’s house to see him and Dawn.  We try to stop every time we come through and so far we’ve been very successful over the years.
We left at 3:30 for a 4:30 arrival and managed to get there about 4:10.  Tom always accuses us of being late and we never are.  In any event we sat down to a very lovely Dinner of Steak, “Baked” Potatoes and Asparagus Spears.  The potatoes and asparagus were exceptional recipes that we had never had before.  All in all it was a very nice, although short, visit that we always hate to miss.
I taped the Republican debates tonight so after we got home we watched them for awhile.  I don’t think anyone did any damage to themselves tonight, but we’ll hear all about it on the news tomorrow.  We caved in about 10:30 tonight.

We got off to a leisurely start this morning having only to go a few miles today to get to Casa Grande and the Casa Grande RV Resort. (formerly Desert Shadows RV Resort)
Our first stop, however, was just up the road at the Blue Beacon Truck Wash.  We usually stop there on our way out because it’s very reasonable to wash the motorhome.  We paid $35 to get this baby cleaned.  And all we did was sit inside and watch them work.
We didn’t get into our usual spot, at the RV Resort, because since last year they have installed Park Models in the front of the park.  We were directed to a spot formerly reserved for overniters.  The sites are no different, they’re just located in a different section of the park.  One of our first times staying at this park we were located here.
We got a phone call from some old friends, Bill and Carole Lawson who we met several years ago in Massachusetts.  He’s a retired State Trooper who we met in Lowell National Historic Park.  We’ve been friends ever since.  They said they’ll stop by on their way to Mesa to get a repair done.  We’ve been trying to get together since Deming when they told us they were out this way.  They usually spend the winters in Florida with an occasional trip out west.
They pulled into the site next to us with their truck camper.  We spent the next hour just chatting and catching up on the most recent past events.
After they pulled out we sat down to a Dinner of Rigatonis and meatballs.  The unusual thing was Sharon made the meatballs out of Cornbread.  They were really very good and not much different tasting then regular meatballs.
We wandered through a dark theater tonight to find our reserved seats in front of the television for the night.  Since we watched the Republican Debate last night when we got home, we had a night of taped shows to catch up on.  We were ready for the sandman at 10:30 though.

When we came here last year, to Casa Grande Resort, we found out that they will give you a Belgian Waffle every morning for free along with Coffee and OJ.  We were so busy last year we never got a chance to have the waffle.  But today, with nothing to do, or any plans to execute, we decided to go to the Dining Room and just see what the waffle was like.
Well, true to their word, it was a regular Belgian Waffle with all the fixins’ and Coffee and OJ. If you total it up, it probably comes to $15-$17 and we paid $25 for the night for our site.  It’s almost cheaper than it was under Coast to Coast.  And the waffle was quite good indeed.
After Breakfast we came back home for awhile and watched a little TV.  Sharon wanted to go to the Post Office to mail out Christmas Cards so we left early in the afternoon to try and beat the noontime rush.
We decided to drive across the highway (I-10) to check out the building that been going on over there.  We stopped at Dairy Queen on the way over and picked up a couple of waffle cones with chocolate ice cream in them.  It looks like this is going to be a waffle day today.
We didn’t notice any stores in our jaunt across the highway that we’d be interested in but Sharon stopped and wandered around Michael’s for a half hour or so.
On our way home we called Mary Milan to see if she was home.  We’ll see her tomorrow night but we thought if she was home we’d stop over for a few minutes.  She didn’t answer her phone so we just continued on home.
We had leftover Rigatonis and meatballs for Supper tonight and afterwards we  settled in front of the TV for the night.  We were still catching up on our “debate night” tapings and we finished them off tonight.  Afterward we headed for the bed and it was only 10:30.  It gets harder and harder to stay up late if you have no incentive.

We were off this morning to Golden Corral to have Breakfast with friends from home.  Jayce Dale and her friend Rod would meet us there, since they were coming from the other side of the highway.  We were supposed to meet at 9:30 but they were already there when we arrived at 9:30.  We found that it was a few dollars cheaper here than it was in Amarillo.  We found the same thing in Branson a few years ago and that was the reason we started going to the Grand Country Buffet even though the Golden Corral was across the street from our campground.
We had a very nice Breakfast and a lengthy conversation.  We must have spent an hour just talking after we got done eating.  Although when we left Jayce and Rod were walking the buffet line again.
We came back home and just sat around digesting our Breakfast.  I decided to digest mine with my eyes closed and took a little nap.  Sharon retreated to the bedroom and digested hers also.
By 4 o’clock we had to meet Mary Milan at the Elks Club for Dinner tonight.  Mary is an old friend from lower Michigan that we took a cruise on the Mexican Riviera with a few years ago.  Her husband Jerry, now deceased, was a hoot to say the least.  We met her early for a fish fry wanting to catch up on the last year or so.  Sharon and Mary always have “Grandmother” things to talk about.
When we got back it was dark out, so Sharon wanted to drive through the campground and check out everybody’s Christmas lights.  While a few of the units had lights shining brightly most of the units were dark.
We arrived back home only to camp out in front of the tube for the rest of the night.  I forgot to record our regular shows tonight but after surfing back and forth the east/west networks finally salvaged our night.  We were surfing hard to make it to 10:30 though.

We woke up this morning with a day that we truly had nothing to do.
It was supposed to be nice out today and I had intended to work on my scooter but it turned out to be not so nice.  It was overcast and dingy for most of the day.
Sharon went for her walk this morning and then sat around with me watching TV all day.
By 3:30 it was time for Sharon to take off for church.  She got up from her nap and headed out for downtown.  While she was gone I dumped our gray water tank and put a few gallons of water in the water tank and then disconnected all our hoses.
After church, Sharon stopped at KFC on the way home.  We’ll do KFC sometimes on Sundays because Sharon can get out of cooking.  And we both love the chicken on occasion.
There was nothing on TV for the night and we actually watched a UFC Championship fight tonight.  It only lasted for about a minute as most of those matches do.  After that we even watched a little of the Democrat Debate.  What a joke that was.  We finally got so bored that we watched “A Christmas Story” on tape.  We watched as Ralphie almost shot his eye out.
The movie took us to 10:30 and the end of a very boring night.

We were moving to a new city and a new campground today in Apache Junction, AZ.  We got a leisurely start this morning at 10:30 because we only had about an hour and a half to drive to get to the new location.
Our first stop was next door to fill up with gas.  We thought the price was at $1.53 a gallon but we didn’t notice until we were filling that the non-cash price was $1.55.  We could have gotten it cheaper down Pinal Avenue but we thought this was the least hassle.  I would have opted to drive the extra 5 blocks into town had I suspected.  It was $1.49 down there.
We made the trip to Carefree Manor campground without further incident and settled into our spot.  We almost immediately called Mary and Dennis Ceshker to find out what time the game would start.  (Packer/Raider) We weren’t getting it on DirecTV today and it was nice to get invited over there.  By this time it was 1 PM and the game starts at 2.  We sat down and relaxed for about a half hour since their house was only about 20 minutes away.
After the game, we stayed and Mary cooked pizza for us all that was very good.  I guess they were Papa Murphy’s and she cooked two large ones.
By this time it was dark outside but Dennis gave us explicit directions to get back to the campground.  And it took us a lot less time to get back than it did to get there.  Jill(GPS) took us the roundabout way.
We camped in front of the tube for the rest of the night.  There wasn’t much on but we managed to surf our way to 10:30.
