We were up this morning with a plan to go to the Palm Desert Civic Center to walk through their park and take pictures of the art there.  There are quite a few pieces of outdoor art in a beautiful park.
We had a short Breakfast and then headed out for the park.  I had my scooter with us so that I could get around with Sharon more easily.  We spent about and hour or so just taking pictures on the way and then wandering through the park.  It started to get very warm out by the time we got through.  We were both tired even though I rode around the park.
After getting our pictures, we left and headed for the Hibachi City Grill.  A Chinese place that we’ve been to at least once so far this year.  The food is good and the price is very reasonable.  It’s changed hands, and its name over the past couple of years but it is still very good.
After we left the restaurant we came back home and we both had trouble keeping our eyes open.  We napped for a couple of hours as it turned out.
Neither of us ate anything for the rest of the night because of the late lunch.
We had a couple of favorites on TV tonight, and they managed to take us to the bewitching hour at 10:30.

We were off to the Cottage Too this morning to have our usual Breakfast.  I say usual because we always have the same special when we go there.
We stopped at Von’s Grocery on the way home for gas for the car.  The wind was blowing very hard this morning but the windmills must have had the brakes on because they weren’t spinning to match the wind because they would have flown apart.  An ugly scene to say the least.
We skipped the pool again today because of the wind.  Besides the pool is probably full of debris anyway.  It seems to gather in the pool when the wind blows hard.
Tonight was a good night for TV so we just camped out in front of the TV for the night.  Sharon was still doing her plastic canvas project that she’s been working on for the last two weeks.  She’s almost done at this point and it’s a Merry Christmas project.
We stayed up until 11 tonight before we finally gave it up.  I’ve also taken to writing my Journal freehand since my computer took a dump.  Its been a little tedious knowing I still would have to type it when I get a computer up and running. (I wrote it until April 3 and now I’m catching up)

We were off this morning across the Valley to my Doctor’s Office to get to a 9:30 follow-up appointment for a test that I had performed last week.  By the time I got done and on the way home it was around 11:30 and almost time to go to the VFW for Taco Wednesday.  As we approached the road for the club we just turned in and decided to go a little early today.  We knew that we should go and at least say good-bye to everyone.  The place was half empty and we wondered if it was because we had come early or not.  It didn’t fill up today like it usually does so apparently some people have already gone home.  We ordered our food and finished up our lunch with only one pitcher of beer. (amazing)
When it was time to say our good-byes, Daisy was the only waitress who we said our good-byes to.  Alice and Sharon were not working today for some reason or another.  Sharon may have left to go home.  They live in Ontario, Canada.
We headed home to get a couple of things accomplished today.  After getting home we got busy on the outside of the motorhome wiping down the outside and cleaning the windshield.  It was warm out by now so it took a while for us to get it done.
We left for the pool about 2:30 and stayed there for about an hour and a half till about 4 PM.
Tonight we had Tuna Melts and Soup for Supper.  I’m not much of a soup person but it was a nice change of pace.
We sat for the night in front of the tube and we had enough to watch for the night.  We even had a couple of new shows to watch tonight.  We stayed up until 11 before we folded our tents and went to bed.

We started off our day today at Denny’s in Thousand Palms just down the road from us here in Desert Hot Springs.  I finally figured out how to order off their 2-4-6-8 menu.  We had a nice Breakfast ($14) and then headed out to Best Buy to visit their Geek Squad.  I still haven’t found the problem with my computer.  I’ve had a couple of people who are good with computers look at it, but they seemed to be stumped.  I didn’t get much help from Best Buy either except to tell me what I already knew.
I came back home and tried to execute their recommendation of deleting some files from my Hard Drive to free up space.  The problem is that the Hard Drive is reporting that its almost full.  I have a 500 GB Hard Drive on it and its showing that it’s almost full.
After I deleted some files that I could find, I tried to contact Bryan from the park again.  He tried to find some more files to delete and there was not much there.  He was stumped again as to why it was showing up that way.
I finally gave up on it and backed up some files and left for the pool for the afternoon.  We were there until our usual time at 4 and then came back home so Sharon could make us Supper.
We had meatloaf, potatoes and peas for Supper tonight.  Meatloaf is one of my favorites so I was quite happy.  We’ll have leftovers for sandwiches for the next couple of days.
We sat in front of the Telly for the night, and Sharon worked on her project, while I just relaxed in my recliner.  We were up until 11 tonight before we retired rearward.

We were off to Denny’s again today before we headed to Best Buy to have them check out the computer again and have them run a “diagnostic” program on it.  It was going to cost $99 and take 24 hours to get results.  Anything to fix would be beyond that and counter-productive since a new computer would be $249.00.
We came back home and finished up putting things away for our “move” tomorrow.  It’ll only be about a half mile up the road since our arrangement with Catalina was over.  And it’ll be for two days only since Sharon wanted to stay put until after Easter.  On Monday we’ll be headed up North barring any problems.
We went to the pool this afternoon which will be one of our last times for this year.  It had about a dozen people in it but soon filled up with strangers, probably transients on their way home for the year.
After coming home at 4 we decided we’d go to Del Taco to try their Fish Tacos tonight and headed for town.  The tacos were quite good and for dessert we stopped next door at McDonald’s for Ice Cream.  I had a shake and Sharon had a Hot Fudge Sundae.  We ate them on the way home.
We braced ourselves for the night in front of the idiot box for our night’s entertainment.
March madness is still going strong so CBS is non-existent for the time being.  We did find enough to enjoy by surfing for the night, and catching some regular shows.
We stayed the course until 10:30 tonight before we finally crashed and burned.

We were on our way back to Best Buy this morning to get the results of the diagnostic after we got our motorhome parked at Desert Pools RV Resort.  We’ll spend the next two days here before we finally move on up North.  It’ll cost us $16 a day by staying under RPI membership.
On the way over to Best Buy we got a call from them reporting on my computer.  They said that the diagnostic showed that the Hard Drive was bad.  It also showed that there was only 67 GB of “stuff” on the Hard Drive.  A point that I’ve been trying to make for the last two visits.  I knew that the amount of stuff filling up the Hard Drive was in error.
So with that information we decided to get a new computer.  It’ll have the dreaded Windows 10 installed on it.  We’ll pick up both computers at the same time.
By he time we got back home it was time for the pool so we got in the car and headed over to Catalina for the afternoon.
By the time I got home I started loading programs on the new laptop.  It wasn’t going that well as I couldn’t get my WordPerfect to save documents.  After a while I decided that I would have to suspend my Journal on the website.  By the time I finished loading what I could it was past TV time and time for bed.  We had a long day today and it was 10:30, and we were bushed.

Sunday, March 27, 2016EASTER SUNDAY

Sharon was off to church this morning and I had stuff to do around here to prepare for our trip north tomorrow morning.  I had to clean up the mess I made on the windshield and hook up the utilities so that we can dump our holding tanks and start out fresh tomorrow.
Sharon came home without our usual Tamales this morning and started cooking.  We were having Rosemary Game Hens and multi-colored peppers for our Easter Dinner today.  She wanted to get it done early so we could go to the pool this afternoon.
As soon as she pulled it out of the oven we were off to the water for the afternoon.  We stayed for about an hour and said our good-byes to everyone we knew and then came home to a wonderful Dinner and washed it down with a nice wine.
After Dinner we settled in for our last night here in front of the TV. We certainly had enough to watch tonight, but Sharon left for the feathers about 9:30, and I stuck it out until 11.
