We were off this morning to the Cottage for Breakfast.  It’s the first time I’ve gotten out of the house since I escaped the hospital.  Even though my foot is still tremendously sore, I still wanted to do this today.  My shoe wouldn’t fit this morning but Sharon found a shoe that I wore when I broke my leg a few years ago.  We had a wonderful Breakfast at the Cottage.  The cook must have had some extra Hash Browns in the kitchen the way he piled them up on my plate.  I toughed it out however, and ate every last morsel.
We stopped at Walgreen’s on the way home to pick up some more OTC drugs for the day.  It seems like a regular thing to have to stop at Walgreen’s every day.
After getting back home for awhile Sharon decided she was bored and left to go over to the Lower Clubhouse.  There’s a couple of unfinished Jig-saw puzzles over there that she’s taken it upon herself to finish.  She was back in plenty of time to fix supper for the both of us.
We were planning on having leftover Pizza Casserole and she whipped up a salad for the both of us.  The casserole was still very good indeed.
We settled into our regular positions for the rest of the night, even though it was a short night.  I headed out for the bed a bout 9 hoping to be asleep by the time Sharon got there.  Neither of us is doing that well when we stay up til 11 these days.  And as luck would have it I was gone before she arrived.

Tuesday, March 31, 2015

I was up early this morning, and for the most part I had a good night last night for the first time since I left the hospital.  Sharon had another lousy night.
Today is supposed to be the day that the awning guy is coming to measure our awning.  He’s supposed to come sometime between 3 and 5 and actually he showed up at noon and spent 5 minutes measuring before he handed me his card and left only to return tomorrow for the replacement.
We also got an email estimate from Benlo RV to fix the awning for $375.  ShadePro will do it for $187.  Thanks Benlo, but I think we’ll pass.
Sharon was off to the pool this afternoon for an hour or so.  I held down the fort.  I’m not supposed to go in the water until I’m done with my medication.  But if this year, so far, is any indication, I’ll never be done taking medication.
Sharon whipped up a Tator Tot Casserole for Supper tonight.  She did it a little different tonight though.  She cooked it this morning when it was cool and then just reheated tonight in time for Dinner.  It was quite good along with a salad to chase it down.
After Dinner we camped out in front of the Telly for the night.  Just watching re-runs on TV is getting old, but with me hobbled there doesn’t seem much else to do.  The park has pretty much ended their activities for the year, including the meals.  We’ll have to fend for ourselves which is pretty much what we’ve been doing all year.
We both headed off for bed early tonight to try to catch up on some lost sleep we’ve encountered over the past few days.

Wednesday, April 1, 2015APRIL FOOL’S DAY

Our Taco Wednesdays have pretty much ended for this year.  For the past week we have just sat around and watched TV.  Taco Wednesday passed without incident today as we just relaxed in the motorhome in the air conditioning.
The lower part of our park is really emptying out.  Occasionally a unit will come in for a day or two but for the most part, it’s really empty.  The Upper Campground still has between 50-60 units parked.  I think that the top is busy because of the 50 amp service.  It’s hot enough now to run both air conditioners at the same time.  If we had it to do over again I’d have parked on top instead of down here.  But who knew that I’d be kept away from the pool for 10 days and in the hospital for 3.  Sometimes I can’t even buy a break.
We watched TV for most of the afternoon and Sharon kept busy by cross-stitching.
We fended for ourselves for Supper tonight. Sharon didn’t feel much like cooking and I didn’t feel much like eating.  It was a marriage made in heaven.
After Dinner we just sat around and watched TV for the night.  There were a couple of re-runs and a couple of original programs.  We went to bed early again tonight hoping we’d feel better by morning.

Thursday, April 2, 2015

We sat around this morning cause I had a doctor’s appointment this after noon to have my leg and foot checked up on.  I’m still experiencing quite a bit of pain in the foot when I walk.  So naturally I walk as little as possible.
By the time my appointment rolled around at 2:15 it was hot as all get-out outside.  It took about halfway there just to get the car cooled off.
The report I got from the doctor was as good as it could be.  The leg looked fine but it was taking some time for the pain to go away.  She prescribed some compression socks for me to wear but I remember them from last time, and I couldn’t stand the pressure.  So I’ll forget about picking them up for now.
Sharon took off again for Urgent Care because she doesn’t seem to be getting any better.  Unfortunately she got lost on the way which just frustrated her even more.  The streets directions here are so goofy that unless you know exactly where you’re going, you could be lost by a couple of miles in either direction.  That used to be me years ago, Although I did get lost on the way to the doctor today. Go figure.
Sharon got home from the doctor at Urgent Care about 7:30 tonight.  She was irritated after getting lost and waiting in line at Walgreen’s for awhile.
She was ready to just sit and relax and just take in some TV for while.  We actually stayed up until 10:30 tonight which is unusual for the last few days.

Friday, April 3, 2015

We were off to the Cottage this morning for Breakfast.  We have to keep being somewhat active or we’re going to go stir crazy.  On the way home from Breakfast we stopped at Walgreen’s to see if they had the compression stockings and they didn’t.  Another reprieve from the stockings.
We were late for Breakfast this morning, and by the time we got finished eating it was hovering close to noon.  We had pretty much decided already that we were going to Carl’s Jr for Fish Tacos tonight for Dinner.  We had enjoyed them so much last week on Friday that we thought we’d go again.
Sharon went to the pool this afternoon for awhile and I stayed home cause I’m still on medication, and under doctor’s orders not to swim until I’m out of pills.
By the time she came home we were off to Carl Jrs for Supper.  We both decided on the Fish Sandwich tonight instead of the tacos.  We also got fries and onion rings which was too much for us to eat but we shoved it down anyway.   We were both quite full by the time we got back home for the night.  We were ready to just sit and relax and watch the TV for the night.  We stayed up late for another night.  We didn’t hit the hay til about 11.

Saturday, April 4, 2015

I woke up this morning quite cheerful because this is the last day for the jillion pills that I’m taking.  I’ll be able to go to the pool for a change if I can only walk over there.  I’ll probably have to break out the scooter for the trip.
The weather was intending to be a little cooler today.  We sat with the windows open and the air off for most of the day.  As Sharon says, we opened the windows to let the bad germs out, but we also at the same time let the new pollen, which is making us sick, in.
We just sat around for most of the afternoon cause my foot is still too painful to put weight on.  Besides its breathtakingly hot outside and not comfortable to sit out there.
By suppertime Sharon heated up the Tamales we had leftover from last Saturday.  They were still very good and we had some Mexican Rice to go along with them.  Sharon also whipped up some Guacamole with an Avocado she picked up at the store yesterday.  We had a lovely Mexican fiesta for the evening.
We opted for our usual entertainment tonight in front of the TV.  We had some stuff taped that we decided to watch.  It kept us up until late tonight and the both of us had a good night sleeping for a change.

Sunday, April 5, 2015EASTER SUNDAY

Sharon was off to church this morning and I sat and watched my Sunday morning political shows.  The topic this morning was the nuclear deal that Obama is touting with Iran.  With both sides bragging about success who do you believe, the serial liar in the White House or the serial liar from Iran.
Sharon was home early today as she didn’t have any shopping to do.  She got onto our Dinner as soon as she got home from church.  She had cooked everything last night while we watched TV and was intending on just heating it up today.  The only thing she had to make from scratch was the Waldorf Salad.  We would be having Meatloaf (one of my faves) Garlic and Herb mashed potatoes and Waldorf Salad.  It was all delicious as expected, and we finished it off with Razzleberry Pie.  Yumm!
Needless to say we sat around for the afternoon doing our usual stuff like watching TV and cross-stitching and playing games on her Nook.  It also was a good time digesting our Easter Dinner.  We sat around peacefully until it was time for another piece of pie.  It wasn’t at all difficult to have another piece as long as there was room in the pit.
We watched the first installment in “AD: the Bible continues” tonight.  I understand there are quite a few shows in this series.  We’ll probably still be watching it after we get home, assuming we’ll still be getting there sometime in the future.  We stayed up tonight but I was gone south before the Mrs.  I was hoping that going to bed would help the pain in my foot.  It didn’t, and I had a lousy night..
