                                  DAY ONE AGAIN

Saturday, November 29, 2014

When we got up this morning it was colder than a witches thorax.  Maybe it just felt that way cause it was dark outside.  We finished up loading the coach with our freezable items, and by the time we got on the road it was about 30 degrees and about 10:30 AM.  We were getting a late start in comparison to other years but at least we were rolling.  In actuality we were leaving a day early but later in the day.
The roads were sloppy and wet for the most part until we reached Green Bay when they dried out and were half-way decent to drive on.  We had already stopped for Breakfast at a little restaurant on Lineville road.  It would be the first time we had missed a lunch at Lambeau Field in several years.
We continued on to my son’s house in West Bend, Wisconsin for our overnight stay.  We can plug into power there and it works out very well just parking on the street.  At least it has for several years.  My daughter Stephanie and her family stopped over and we had a very nice visit with the family.
We ordered out KFC for Supper tonight and Sean and I went to pick it up.  It all turned out to be very good and everybody enjoyed it.
We stayed up really late tonight cause everybody seemed to want to drink beer for awhile.  We finally headed for the motorhome about 11:30 when they couldn’t force any more beer down the Mrs.

By the time we got ready this morning we were already late for the day.  We only had a gas stop and then a short visit with my sister Marge in Mount Pleasant (Racine) and then we’d be back on the road again.
At least the weather was cooperating today with dry roads for the whole day.  The traffic was very heavy and I really didn’t realize why until I figured it was Thanksgiving traffic going home.  We usually travel on the Monday after the Holiday and the traffic isn’t that bad at that time
We managed to get as far as Wenona, Illinois before darkness fell........thump.  A sometimes stop for us had just changed hands and weren’t set up for charging campers so we stayed for free.  We managed to stop just in time to see the Packers whip the New England Patriots..........what a game.  It wasn’t all that exciting as far as scoring goes, but a win is a win.  We hit the hay early tonight at about 10:30 and snuggled up to those flannel sheets.  It didn’t take long for me to go unconscious tonight.
