We awoke to rain again today. What a surprise. We had already decided to go out for Breakfast this morning to the Waffle House and that wasn’t going to change. We took off right after our showers and it was still raining outside. As we drove up to the Waffle House the rain quit. Providence smiled on our Breakfast. We had our usual $14 meal and it was quite good again.
We stopped at Peterson’s RV after a recommendation from another RV place only to find that they don’t work on engines either. So we stopped at the Ford Dealership and they were no help either. We had a “service engine soon” light pop on just before we got back to Gulf Shores. We’ve been trying to find someone to stop over and check it out since we got back. I’ve now made an appointment up in Robertsdale to have it checked on the day we leave here.
We stopped over to Corky and Deb’s on the way home to see if there was any information with regard to Terry. She has not been feeling well since she was admitted to the hospital the other night. Deb has been in close contact with her since then. I guess they’re having difficulty finding the exact problem
By the time we got back home it was raining again. It has also turned a little chilly today which was also no surprise. It warms up as soon as the sun’s out, but it’s a crap shoot to see if it’s going to be out or not.
I worked on my Newsletter most of the afternoon and got most of the front page done. I still have to figure out a logo for this month. Sometimes they don’t come to me until I’m writing the last line of the last story.
We had leftover Rigatoni and Meatballs for Supper tonight. Spaghetti is always better the second time you eat it. The sauce tends to stick to the pasta and it just tastes better. Not being a connoisseur of fine food I just have my own opinion of good food.
Sharon has been working on her puzzle for the last couple of days and I have been having my way with the TV. The NCAA championship was on tonight but we only watched the last 5 minutes. That was where all the action happened anyway. And besides it was still on tonight after my other shows were over. UCON pulled away in the last seconds and beat Kentucky who beat Michigan last week. After the game we were ready for the padded room and besides it was already 11 o’clock.

Sharon had a lousy night last night and was up doing her puzzle when I got up. She also woke me up with all the sneezing and blowing her nose. She’ll probably be napping for most of the afternoon today.
We were going to have an intermittent day today. Intermittent Sun and then intermittent rain. We started out with the Sun but that didn’t last too long. Luckily it didn’t rain too hard or too much during the rainstorms. It was just enough to keep Me inside for most of the day.
She finished up her puzzle this morning and now she’ll stick her nose in a book for the next few days. She’s a hoot when she reads. She writes down all the characters in the book on paper cause she can’t remember them. Today she had at least a dozen characters written down and she was only in the first 15 pages of the book.
I took advantage of a little break in the weather to go out and dump our holding tanks this afternoon. It only took about 10 minutes and I was back inside again. I was surprised how warm it was out today, but the humidity was thick enough to cut with a knife.
By late afternoon, and after her nap Sharon got up and was looking a little better than she looked or sounded this morning. She had already taken some allergy medication which obviously helped the situation. We both seem to have problems with allergies when we leave home for the winter. We both got sick the year before (2012) out in California because of allergies.
We had Rigatoni and Meatballs for Supper again tonight which was fine with me. Sharon was going to make Pasties but really didn’t feel like doing anything by the time she got up from her nap.
After Supper we settled in front of the TV for the night. We had plenty of good shows on tonight and we’ll even have “leftovers” for tomorrow. We didn’t finish our programming until about 10:45. The curtain fell, the audience went home, and we went to bed.

We awoke to a very nice looking day today. We’ve had those good “looking” days before, however, so we’ll just have to wait and see how this one turns out.
Corky and Deb stopped over to let us know that they weren’t going to Trivia tonight. They also wanted to know if we wanted to go to Fort Morgan tomorrow. Apparently it’s time for the Hummingbird banding when they come across the Gulf on their return from Costa Rica.
We breakfasted at home this morning before we took off for Wal-Mart to do some grocery shopping. We needed some stuff that we could eat for Breakfast for the next few days. I managed to find a good cart at Wal-Mart which is a chore in itself sometimes. Usually it’s not even worth going into the store cause the electric cart batteries are dead. For someone who can’t walk the store anymore it’s an exercise in futility.
When we left Wal-Mart it was lunchtime and a McDonald’s was just down the street on the way home. We couldn’t get past there without the car veering hard to the right and into their parking lot. We made it just in time, because as we stood in line to be waited on, a whole bunch of kids from school came in. Our timing was indeed impeccable. We ate lunch and then headed for home with our groceries.
Sharon took off with the laundry as soon as we got home and I stopped over to Corky’s to tell him that we were interested in the trip to Fort Morgan tomorrow, but we suggested separate vehicles because we wanted to go an hour later than them. They said they’d call us if anything exciting was happening any earlier.
I came home and disassembled our bathroom fan to see if I could fix it. For some reason the elevating arm disconnected from the vent cover the other day and Sharon had to go up on the roof so we could close the cover. It would be an easy fix if I had a new elevating arm but I’ll have to see if I can formulate something to work anyway.
We had Pulled Pork sandwiches for Supper tonight. Sharon had cooked a pork Shoulder in the crock pot the other day and pulled the pork on the same day. So tonight was going to be leftovers. Good leftovers, but leftovers.
We settled in front of the tube for the night and had plenty of new shows to watch. Sharon was still writing down characters in her book and I was just being entertained by the TV. We both stayed up until 11 tonight before we caved.

It was a nice sunshiny day today and we were planning on going to Fort Morgan this morning to watch them band Hummingbirds. They do it twice a year and this will be the Spring banding event.
After we finished our Breakfast we got in the car with all our equipment (chairs, cooler) and cameras. We got a call from Corky and Deb saying they needed to take Terry to the clinic and then pick up a prescription before they left. That was fine since we were just getting ready to leave ourselves.
We both arrived at the Fort at the same time and we pulled in right behind Corky. We lost them when they went to park but quickly found them again. There really weren’t that many people there.
We went over to the bird banding tent and watched them band and feed birds for about an hour or so. It seemed that they were banding everything they caught and not just Hummingbirds. After watching them for an hour or so we left and went to tour the Fort. Ft. Morgan is a star fort located right at the mouth of Mobile Bay. It was instrumental during the Civil War and gave rise to the saying, “Damn the Torpedoes, Full Speed Ahead”, from Union Admiral D.G. Farragut.
After a while we all decided to go back into town and to Doc’s Seafood for lunch. It was a sister restaurant to the place we went to for the Spider Burger at Orange Beach. Today I had Country Fried Steak, which was delicious, and Sharon had Broiled Chicken and very good indeed. We all had a very nice lunch.
We came directly home after lunch and Corky and Deb needed to drop Terry off at home.
For the rest of the afternoon I worked on our bathroom vent to see if I could fix it. I was working on the elevating arm which has been disconnected from the cover. I have to file down some nylon washers to make them the right size. My cordless drill wears down the battery and I have to keep charging it. I think when I quit tonight and put the drill on the charger it was pretty close to the right size.
Since we had a late lunch we weren’t hungry at suppertime but that only means we’ll be snacking later on. In fact about halfway through the TV night I interrupted my entertainment for a bowl of Rigatoni. It was still quite good and just the thing to settle my stomach for the night. And it was the end of the leftover Rigatoni as well.
We stayed up until after 11 tonight. I was catching up on taped shows on the DVR and it just happened to last that long. Neither of us seemed too excited to call it quits for the night.

We awoke this morning to bright sunshine and the promise of a nice day...all day. That was fine with me cause I had some work to do today before the sun went down.
After Breakfast I began working on the bathroom vent again to see if I could get it functioning even halfway normal. It’s difficult when you don’t have the right parts or the right tools to make it work. An exhaust fan in the bathroom is definitely a “must have.” It took me until noon to get the nylon washers I was working on down to the right size. Even my cordless drill was working against me. All day yesterday it was going dead on me and I had to stick it back in the charger.
I worked right through lunch but Sharon made a couple of Toasted Cheese sandwiches for me later while she was making Pasties for Supper tonight. I managed to get the fan back together this afternoon and it worked just fine. Not the way I wanted it fixed but I was limited as to what I could do from the motorhome.
I needed a “back break” by the time I finished the fan. Standing and holding both arms over my head is not a position that’s very favorable to me. I was aching to say the least.
We sat down to Supper with one of my favorite foods. Maybe because I was raised on Pasties and have eaten them all my life. My Dad owned a bakery and sold Pasties from the store. It’s a mixture of Ground Beef, Potatoes, Onions, salt and pepper rolled in a crust and baked in the oven. They are quite good indeed.
I was more than happy to sit in front of the tube tonight and do nothing. Sharon even finished up drying the dishes from Supper before I even heard her. I may have been taking a little snooze for myself.
We stayed up until 10:45 tonight until all our programs had been played including the hour on DVR. I headed to the bedroom and collapsed in a heap.

We woke up this morning to another sunshiny day. Go figure. We’ll have a little wind today that will be cooling rather than cold. It’s strange to realize that after almost four months we’ll appreciate something that cools off the day.
After Breakfast this morning I got about putting our bathroom skylight back together again. There is an inner shield that duplicates the outer dome and we’ve had it apart since we detected the leaks from the two cracks in it. It’s got something like 16 screws that had to be put back in. We left it apart so the ceiling could dry out and now since the bathroom fan is fixed we have a way to exhaust the steam from showers.
Sharon and I sat around for awhile this morning discussing the possibility of leaving here a couple of days early at the end of the month. Sharon is getting antsy to get home and I don’t particularly care one way or the other. We know they still have snow up there but in a week and a half most of it should be gone. Corky and Deb will be leaving next Saturday and we’re slated to leave 5 days later. But it certainly won’t be earthshaking if we leave a couple of days earlier. I think we’ll be shoveling snow no matter when we leave unless it’s at the end of May.
After lunch we stopped over at Corky and Deb’s for awhile just to shoot the bull. Corky was carving a cowboy and Deb was reading a book. It was a perfect time to interrupt them and carry on useless conversation. We stayed for a couple of hours before it was time for Supper. We came home and Sharon fired up the grill.
We had Cheeseburgers and Deep Fried Tator Tots for Supper tonight. The Tator Tots were an idea stolen from Corky when we visited them in Eagle River.Of course Dinner was very good tonight. What can be bad about grilled food.
After Dinner we settled in front of the TV and watched the Telly for the next 5 hours. We did more surfing tonight than anything else. Since there was nothing on the networks channels we surfed the cable. Switching back and forth to the NASCAR race and TruTV for the night was the norm. Later on we switched to MSNBC for Lockup. We lasted until 11 but escaped the hypnotic spell of the tube and headed for the bedroom.

Sharon was off to church this morning after she got ready and dressed. I was ready for my Sunday political shows.
I had to sit and listen to how successful Obamacare is because they got 7 million subscribers to sign up. Nobody knows how many have actually paid for their coverage because those numbers are not available. Nobody even seems to care how much this Turkey has cost to even make it look successful. Multimillions of dollars have been spent on ads and celebrities shilling the benefits of this program that they’ll never use. And if it is actually working , it would be the first government program that ever worked. A few of those fiascos, in the past, come to mind such as: The Post Office, Welfare, VA, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and on and on. At least Social Security could have been a viable program since the participants paid for it. Had the government thieves not robbed the coffers of all the money that was there, it wouldn’t be going broke.
Sharon had planned on stopping at Wal-Mart on the way home to do some grocery shopping for next week. I got a call from her after church and before Wal-Mart asking if I wanted Corn Dogs for lunch. Wal-Mart has really good Corn Dogs. By the time she got home with the groceries it was after 12:30 and I was starved. I dug into the Corn Dogs and they were quite good. Sharon sat down with a bowl of soup that was leftover from the day we had the Bread Bowls.
We just relaxed for the rest of the afternoon until Supper. Sharon had put Chicken Wings in the Crock Pot and their smell was wafting through the motorhome all afternoon. I was in charge of deep frying the dill pickle slices while she went out and put the wings on the grill just to brown them. She had also filled some celery pieces with a cream cheese filling and we had those for Dinner also. Everything was quite good indeed.
We camped out in front of the tube for the night even though there wasn’t much to watch tonight. Sundays are not usually that good for TV programming, and tonight was no different. Although 60 Minutes and The Mentalist were original programs that we watch every Sunday.
We stayed up until just after 10 tonight and then we folded everything up including the big tent. It didn’t take long for us to start making zzzz’s after that.
