I got up this morning knowing that this was going to be a “get ready to move day.”  Tomorrow we will be heading over to the Gulf Coast and Holiday, Florida.  There really wasn’t much to do today since I’ll be dumping the tanks at the new campground.
I did need to do a little tweaking on the water valve on the toilet today.  The foot pedal seems to be snapping when it closes.  Who knows what’s causing that.
Sharon took off with the laundry this morning while I worked on the toilet.  I finished up my job long before she finished up with the laundry.
I spent the afternoon editing video and managed to get within a hairbreadth of finishing it altogether.  I’ve got about 4 or 5 minutes left to work on and then put the music in.  I have a hard time realizing the many things we did in the winter of 98-99.  We had quite the busy winter that year.
We had Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwiches for Supper tonight.  They were a nice change of pace from a fully cooked meal.  Sharon always seems to know the best thing to have to eat for us.
We were settled in for our regular entertainment tonight in front of the picture box.  There were only a couple of shows that were good on tonight but they managed to take us up til bedtime at 11.

We got off on a leisurely start this morning since we were only going to be on the road for about 90 minutes to our destination.  We pulled into the Holiday Travel Park, in Holiday, Florida about 1:30 PM and quickly got settled and plugged in so we could run the air conditioner.
We left almost immediately and went over to Sandie and Charlie Mitchem’s to see they’re Park Model that they’ve been living in now, for a few years.  It was a cute little unit, with an addition,  that was situated on a pond that was across the street.  They got  a good deal on it and it seems to be worth whatever they paid for it.  Charlie is working for the campground and seems to do odd jobs all week long.  He gets paid nominal fee for his efforts.
We sat around just catching up for about an hour and a half before we left and came back home.  Charley was waiting for me with the stepladder that asked if he could find for me.  I wanted to check a seam around my skylight to see if it was corrupted or if there was a crack in the skylight.  I inspected it for about 5 minutes and couldn’t find anything that looked out of place.
By this time Sharon grabbed a quick sandwich and then took off for Bingo with Sandie at the clubhouse. I opted out of the Bingo cause this was my night for NCIS and a couple of other shows that I like to watch.  When Sharon got back into the house she was sporting a $5 bill for her efforts.  Although it cost her $15 for her cards.  I don’t think Bingo is her game.  Although she did win the church drawing from home today which netted her $100.  Life is good.
She sat and watched a few shows on TV with me before she headed for bed at 11.  I stayed up because I had taped Chicago Fire and wanted to watch it before I caved.  It was only 42 minutes by the time you cut out the commercials.

I got up late this morning.  By the time I got up Sharon had been up for awhile.  This EST is killing me.  I go to bed late and get up later.  And I still have shows on the DVR to watch the next day.  And I’ve only been under this time for 3 days.  I’ll be a wreck by the time I do this for two weeks.
We went out for Breakfast this morning to Linda’s Place just down the street.  Sandie thought that she would like to go also since we were going at 9:30.  She doesn’t get up early for Breakfast, but 9:30 she could handle.  Charlie had a campground meeting and wasn’t able to go.  The food at Linda’s was very good and reasonable.  We had another Scrambled Egg Omelette for the second time in our lives.  Sandie didn’t think that was unusual so apparently that’s the way they do it in Florida.  We’re used to having the filling wrapped up in the egg.
As soon as we got home I got busy on my second video again.  And since we hadn’t seen the first video I decided to plug it into the DVR and play it.  As it turns out,  there were problems with the links and chapters working right.  Checking the results were the reason I never delete them from the computer until after I watch the video and try all the links.  I’ll have to fix the links and then re-burn it to another disc.
Sandie and Charlie stopped over this afternoon and we sat and chatted out side for about 90 minutes.  The wind was blowing but it was very pleasantly warm out today.  They stayed until it was obvious that they wouldn’t have time to eat and make it to the clubhouse in time for cards tonight if they stayed later.
Sharon was off to cards after a quick sandwich and I was perfectly content to sit here and watch the Telly for the night.  I had all good programming on tonight and besides she was back home at 9 anyway.  As usual she went to bed at a reasonable hour and I stayed up for one more show.  Yawn.

I was up and at em’ early this morning.  By early, I mean I was up before Sharon which has become a real accomplishment over the past week or so.  And a real chore at the same time.  By being on EST I can’t tell by the darkness what time it is in the morning anymore.  I have to check the time on the clock, which I hate, because if it’s too early it keeps me from going back to sleep.
In any event I was up and typing on my Journal before Sharon arose from the bed.  I was finished and working on my first video tape by the time she got up.  I’ve decided to go through the whole thing after I found that the links to the separate chapters were not working properly.  I’ve found a couple of other video effects that I can apply to the finished product.  I should have it done by tomorrow some time, and then I can go back to the second tape.  I was in a hurry to get the first one done in a hurry and neglected a few things.  Things that should have been done to it in the first place.  So the extra effort will pay off in the end.
Sandie stopped over for awhile today and we sat inside and talked for awhile.  Sharon was cleaning the ceiling and still had some ways to go.  We discussed what time she and Charlie would pick us up tonight to go to the Thirsty Marlin Restaurant about a half hour from here, somewhere south of Tarpon Springs.
They picked us up at 4:30 and we headed out to the restaurant.  We were joined at the restaurant by about 20 other people.  They seemed like quite the friendly bunch
and welcomed us like we were old friends.  The food was only average and a little pricey for the value.  I had a Lobster Wrap and Sharon had a Lobster Quesadilla.  My wrap was served so cold that I couldn’t even taste the Lobster.  I’ll heat the other half, that I took home, in the microwave and see if it tastes any better.
We settled in front of the tube for the night expecting some good shows for the night.  We had a couple and had to surf for a couple more.  But it did take us right up to the bewitching hour.

The weather since we’ve been here in Florida has been very nice.  Shorts every day and the sun always out, even on the days we had rain.  But mostly it’s been nice enough to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather.
I worked on my first video for most of the morning trying to get it ready to burn to a disc again.  When I finally got it ready and burned, it wouldn’t play in my DVD player.  It would play in the computer, but not in the player.  What next?  I had this problem a couple of years ago and Pinnacle recommended that I shut down particular applications on the computer, to solve the problem, and that worked.  Unfortunately I don’t have the list of applications with me.  I may just have to wait until I get back home to burn to a disc.
Sharon was cleaning the ceiling for most of the morning while I worked on the video.  We had a couple of spots that she was not too crazy about.
By lunchtime we both ate our leftovers from the Thirsty Marlin last night.  I warmed my Lobster wrap and it was very good this time compared to last night when it was served ice cold.  I also had a couple of onion rings that were very soggy to say the least.  But they still tasted good.  I enjoyed my lunch much more than I enjoyed Dinner last night.  I was glad I took half of my wrap home with me.
This afternoon I dumped the holding tanks on the coach.  We’ll have to dump again on Tuesday to get ready to go into the Rally at Orlando.  I’ll fill up with water also on Monday so that we won’t be too dependent on the Rally for utilities.  Not knowing what they have I don’t want to be surprised on Tuesday when we go in.
Sharon had planned on Playmoor Burgers (1 patty of gr. Beef, 1 patty of bratwurst) with cheese and onions on a bun with fried potatoes for Supper tonight.  Every once in a while we love those burgers, named after a restaurant that serves them in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Sandie picked up Sharon for Bingo as soon as we got done eating and I reserved my seat in front of the TV for the night.  Just before 9 PM Sharon returned sporting a handful of cash having won $65 tonight.  She had an awful smug look on her face.
We sat and watched the Telly for the next couple of hours before we finally gave up and went and hugged our pillows.

Saturday, March 15, 2014

We were up and off to Linda’s Place this morning for Breakfast again.  She’s got a nice little Breakfast for a very reasonable price.  Since we left to eat at 9:30, Sandie decided that she would go too.  We picked her up and headed the block over to the restaurant.  Charlie was busy with some kind of meeting this morning so he was left behind.  Charley seems to always be busy contributing to this campground.
We had another Sunny, warm day in front of us today which has been long in coming.  After we got home Sharon and I both took a little snooze for ourselves.  Me in my recliner, and her in the bed.  She can’t sleep on the couch anymore cause we don’t have one.  We replaced it last summer with a couple of rocking chairs.  It was Sharon’s idea and she seems to be enjoying it.  We also replaced my recliner with a Euro-recliner.
I spent most of the afternoon reading my owner’s manual for my editing program trying to figure out why my disc won’t play on my DVR player.  I didn’t come up with any solutions so I may have to wait til I get home.
We went to the clubhouse tonight for Dinner.  They had a huge selection of grilled food along with dessert for a nominal fee.  I guess they do this on a regular basis and we just happened to be here for it.  We usually miss this stuff by a day or so but today we just happened to be here.
After Dinner we came back home and settled in front of the TV to watch TV.  There’s never much on Saturday nights but tonight “Red” was on and we watched that until almost 11.  By that time we were ready for bed and we decided to not fight the feeling.

Sunday, March 16, 2014

After a quick Breakfast this morning we were off on a road trip to Riverview, Florida to visit some old friends.  We had planned to make the trip to visit Jack and Judy Beauchamp for a few weeks now.  Ever since we decided to go to the Winnebago Rally we knew we would be in Holiday, Florida for a week and be quite close to Riverview.
It took us about an hour to get to Riverview and then the GPS gave us a wrong turn and got us lost.  We ended up in the wrong park which was another park close to their’s.  It was a rundown old park that was next to their’s.  We managed to find their park through blind stupid luck and a connecting road.
We visited for awhile and then went out for lunch to a place about 30 minutes away.  The food was absolutely fabulous and very reasonable.  I think the name of the place was Little Harbor.  After lunch we went back to their place for about an hour before we started to head home.  When we left, Jack showed us a different way to get back home which was much more direct.  It took us about 15 minutes less but we didn’t make the two stops that we made on the way down.  It turned out to be a very nice day weatherwise and we enjoyed the visit altogether.
Sandie called us when we were about 10 minutes from Holiday and asked if we were going for Strawberry Shortcake today.  We had actually forgotten about it but we decided at that point we wouldn’t go.  Sandie also asked Sharon if she was going to play cards tonight at the same time.  She accepted that offer and after we got back went over to the clubhouse at the appropriate time.
I, on the other hand assumed my regular position in front of the TV again.  I watched 60 minutes tonight and they had a great story on the McIlhenney Company, the makers of Tabasco Sauce.  As I watched it I knew that I should save it for Sharon since we had been there a few years ago.  Besides it would only take 20 minutes to watch it again when she got home.
She came back home again tonight sporting a handful of money, but after she counted it, she found she had only won about a dollar.  I figured that a dollar won, is better than losing.
We lasted until 11 tonight after the Mentalist was over.  It was unusual but the motorhome was really warm inside and we had to turn on the air for a few minutes before we went to slumberland.
