It was sunny out this morning when we got up.  It was even warm already when we left the coach for the restaurant on our usual Monday morning eat out.
We were off to Breakfast this morning to the Waffle House.  We’ve found that that’s where we get the best deal for our money.  You can get Eggs, Bacon, Hash Browns, Toast and an 8" waffle for $5.69.  It’s a lot of food but it’s worth the price.  The food is very good and for a reasonable price.
By the time we got home Sharon was on a “honey-do” list that she’s been thinking about for some time.  I found it unavoidable that I could put it off any longer.  So for pretty much the rest of the day we were working on the list.  We had the Olympics that were taped last night going in the background so at least we were being entertained.
She had time this afternoon to make a Chicken and Cauliflower/Broccoli casserole for supper tonight.  It had been quite a while since we had one of those and it was quite good.  She also whipped up a rice dish that complimented the casserole nicely.  And because there weren’t many dishes to wash, that was a bonus.
We were in the bleachers again for the Olympics tonight.  We actually witnessed a couple of Gold medal wins tonight which was very nice.  We’ve almost gotten used to the agony of defeat over the last week or so.  We also won a medal in the 2-man bobs.  That’s been a 62 year drought.
Sharon got tired and went to bed at 10:30 but I hung in there to watch one of our regular taped shows.  It only takes 42 minutes to watch an hour show if it’s recorded on the DVR.  I was in the sack a little after 11 tonight.

The sun was out and shining this morning but it was a little cooler than yesterday.  It quickly warmed up however, and turned into a nice day except for the overcast skies.
I had a couple of “honey-do’s” to finish up today so after Breakfast I got into finishing them up.  I had last night’s taping of the Olympics to entertain me while I worked.  I disassembled my Fantastic Fan and figured out why it wasn’t opening and as long as it was apart anyway, we cleaned it up before I put it back together.  The other thing I had to do was to put a “logo panel” back on the Driver’s Captains Chair.  I thought the screw holes to hold it on were stripped but as it turned out, the screws had only loosened on their own.  Sharon was really getting picky when she announced the “list” to me.  Oh well.
Yesterday I felt the outside steps “pop” when I was coming up them.  Upon closer  inspection there was a crack that formed in the top step that was making the assembly unstable.  I checked around and found out that Corky could do the welding if I could find a portable welder.  So I made a couple of trips up to maintenance to see if they had a welder that we could use.  Roger came over and said he’d be glad to do it for me sometime tomorrow.  That works out for me.
There wasn’t much left of the afternoon by the time I got everything arranged and taken care of.  Sharon decided we were going to have Tacos for supper tonight and
they turned out to be a nice surprise.  It had been a while since we had them at home.
Another night of Olympics on the tube was going to be our entertainment for the night.  This was a pretty good night with the US picking up a couple of Golds.  We both hit the bedroom early tonight, going to bed right after the coverage of the games at 10:30.

It looked like another nice day was forming this morning.  The sun was out and it was already starting to warm up.
Today was going to be a waiting game to get the step fixed.  Roger from maintenance was planning on stopping by this afternoon to weld the step so I wouldn’t have to move the motorhome.
While I was waiting for Roger, the US was playing the Czech Republic live on the
telly at 11 this morning.  It was a good game but the US took it to em’.  Russia was eliminated by Finland and now the Czechs were gone also.  This hockey medal is looking better every day.
Roger showed up in the early afternoon with his tanks and gas torch.  Corky had also stopped over by this time.  Corky and I were both skeptical as to whether a gas torch would be effective operating at the particular angle that it had to be welded.  When the weld didn’t hold we had to come up with a new plan.
The new plan was to remove the steps and take them down to the maintenance shed and arc weld them there.  I was not convinced that the steps would come off that easy.  As it turned out the bolts were not frozen and came right off.  Score 1 for Corky.  We got them down to the shed and Corky did the welding on them.  We brought them back and re-installed them and then gave them the “Billy Test.”  Fat Guy + 1 or 2 bounces and they survived nicely.
We were finished just in time to shower, eat Dinner (Red Beans and Rice and Sausage) and get ready to go to the Elks for trivia for the night.  We only had 6 people on our team tonight but we did just as good as we ever have.  Last week we had 12 and still lost, but we had a lot more people to laugh and joke with.
We got home tonight just after 9 but I still had time to watch a couple of hours of taped TV.  I gave up on watching any of the games but it is all on the DVR.  I stayed up until just after 11 tonight and then gave it up.

We got up this morning and it looked it was going to be another nice day again.  Except for the wind, which was relatively warm, it turned out quite acceptable.
I told Sharon I was making Egg McMuffins for myself for Breakfast and asked if she wanted in.  She went along this morning and we had a delicious Bacon, Egg and Cheese McMuffin for today.  We had a good base for the day to come.
By the time we finished up Breakfast and did the dishes the Olympic hockey game between the US and Canada was on the air.  We watched it right to the miserable stinkin’ end.  In the last 4 minutes of the game Canada scored 2 goals to even up a 2-0 deficit.  After that they went into overtime where Canada scored in the first few minutes to win.  I was not a happy camper.  The men’s Gold medal game is tomorrow and I hope this is not a bad omen.
When we fixed the steps the other day Corky noticed a spade connector was broken off my battery and the battery was disconnected.  I was sure that I had an extra one so I searched for it this morning.  I looked hither and yon but no connector.  I’ll have to pick up a new one and install it tomorrow.
I was so disgusted with the hockey game that I didn’t watch any Olympics for the rest of the afternoon.  Beside this was our day to go to the Legion for fish.  By the time we got to the Legion, at our regular time, the place was packed.  We had to sit in the extra dining room instead of at our regular “Tennessee” table.  It didn’t seem to take any longer to get our food, however, and it was still very good.  We stuck around for an extra pitcher of beer tonight before we headed for home.
Since the loss in the hockey game this afternoon I almost lost all interest in watching any more Olympics tonight.  I sat in my chair and they were on but I didn’t have any interest tonight.  We both went to bed at 10:30. It was a long day.

We were off to a new restaurant for Breakfast this morning if we could find it somewhere down on the west beach road.  We heard about this place, the West Beach Grill, at the Elks the other night.  Apparently they have a special of buy one get one free.  We don’t know if it runs everyday but we mean to find out.  It was a little further down the road than was reported, but we found it without any trouble.  The food was good and the BOGO deal is on every day of the week.
On the way home we stopped at a couple of auto supplies to find a ground cable for the motorhome.  The first two places didn’t have the size (thickness) that I needed and at the 3rd place the guy made it up for me.  I brought it home and put it right on.
The men’s hockey final was on when we got home and it didn’t look good from an outsider’s standpoint. I had this feeling that it wasn’t going to happen and I was right.  I put the final touches on my video this afternoon and it will be ready to burn to a disc tonight while I’m sitting and watching the Olympics.  It only took an hour to formulate and burn it to a disc which is faster than it’s taken me previously on other movies.  It took me 17 days to edit and insert transitions and finalize the production.
Sharon whipped up a Brizza for supper tonight.  That’s a pizza that is rolled up like a Calzone.  It is quite good.
We sat and watched the games tonight after we watched a couple of episodes of Last Man Standing.  We won a couple of Golds tonight while we watched.  This has really been a disappointing year for the teams.  Sharon went to bed at 10 and I followed her after another hour of regular TV.

We were off early to the clubhouse this morning for the Scrambled Egg and Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast.  There’s also Orange Juice and Coffee to wash it all down.  When we got there, and the place was jammed, we were informed that the Breakfast was free this morning.  It was member appreciation day today.  We figured that if they wanted to appreciate us, and give us a free Breakfast, that was fine with us.  The free part was probably why the crowd was so big today.  Give old people something free and they’ll stand in line forever to get it.  It was another fine Breakfast put on by the volunteers in the park.  By the time we got home there was no worry about what was for lunch.  Nothing.
We got back home and since I had finished the first movie I was working on, I’d download another one and get going on it.  Try as I may I was back to square one and it wasn’t downloading again.  Man this shit is getting old in a hurry.  I’ll have to go back to “the man” again and see if he can get me going.  I’m sure he’ll be happy to see me again.
Without a project to do I was back to playing games on the computer and watching the Olympics full time.  I really didn’t mind watching the Olympics because that’s what I’ve been doing for the last week and a half anyway.  But I was really enjoying working on my old travel videos.
I’ve been battling a kidney stone for the past two days and so far my medication has been working, but for some reason it wasn’t working that good today.  I was very uncomfortable all night tonight.
We both went to bed early tonight.

It was raining pitchforks and hammerhandles this morning when I got up.  And I didn’t make it to the floor until 9:15.  I guess I was catching up on some sleep that I didn’t get last night.
I was going to dump the Black Water tank yesterday but it was raining most of the day.  Well today I’ll have to wade in a puddle that’s up to my ankles to get to the tank.  I’m hoping I don’t lose my shoes in the muck.
I tuned in to my regular Sunday shows this morning but I got disgusted early.  I missed half of Fox News Sunday and Martha Raddatz was in for George Stephanopolis on This Week.  I got rid of her as fast as I could press the delete button.  David Gregory on Meet the Press was interviewing  Susan Rice, (the Benghazi Liar) and I had no use for her either.  She was stating that nobody “mislead” the American people.  No they just outright lied to us, and he made no effort to challenge her.  There was no surprise there.
Today was going to be the last day for the Olympic coverage, and I would watch that for most of the day today.  The Daytona 500 was also on today but they had an extended rain delay, and they ran last year’s 500 during the rain delay.  Everybody thought Jimmie Johnson won but it was really Dale Earnhardt who got the victory.
We watched the Olympic wrap up and the closing ceremonies tonight until it was over and then headed for the rack.  I was going to get in bed early tonight.
