This morning I felt like an omelette for Breakfast.  We didn’t have any open restaurants anywhere near our campground so we hit the road and happened upon the Domino Diner at a gas station.  We both had delicious omelettes.  Sharon’s was Ham and Cheese and mine was a Spanish Omelette.  They both came with Hash Browns and Toast and we left well fed and very happy.
The rest of the day was spent driving.  Sharon did most of it and my offering was pitiful to say the least.  I drove us out of a tight spot at McDonalds at lunchtime.
I remembered after taking my pills at lunchtime that I was out of Glyburide, my diabetes medication.  So we spent about a half hour riding around Joplin, Missouri looking for a Walgreens to pick up the medication.
We made it into Marshfield, Missouri about 3 PM and settled into a campground called Express RV.  It was right next to the highway and an easy in-easy out spot.
We camped out in front of the TV tonight and we were back on Central Standard Time for the last couple of days since our stay in Texas.

We had a nice stay at RV Express in Marshfield, MO last night although it was quite noisy because of the proximity to the highway.  It did quiet down through the night, but started up again in the morning.  We were only there to sleep however.  We were on the road early right after the “Sharon made” Egg McMuffins we had for Breakfast.
It was a pretty uneventful day even though I had to take over for the Chief Pilot driving through St. Louis.  I had another short stint at the wheel in the afternoon when it came to nap time.  She’s learning how to take those short Power Naps on this trip home.
We had planned on driving halfway to Racine today but by the time we got the mileage in, we couldn’t find a convenient campground.  So we ended up at one of our usual spots in Wenona, IL.  We had stopped here one year when the weather was really bad and it makes a pretty convenient place to spend a night on the way home.  It’s only a couple of hundred miles to Racine from here, so we’ll get to my sister’s about mid-afternoon.
Another advantage to spending the night here is that there is a Burger King and a Subway in the same complex.  They’re just a hop, skip and a jump away.
We also had the TV set up and recording as soon as we got here so we had enough to watch for the rest of the night.

We stopped by the Subway shop and got a couple of Sandwiches before we left this monring.  After Breakfast we rolled out onto the highway and headed north to Racine.  Our next night would be spent at my sister’s house.
We stopped on the highway about 20 miles up the road so I could check on our transmission oil for the day.  We needed a half quart so I quickly put it in and we were back on the road again.
Our stop for gas found us in a station that mistated their fuel price.  It was $3.65 on the marquis but $3.89 at the pump.  We only put in 10 gallons and then hit the road.  We went about 10 miles down the road and found it for $3.63.  We filled up and got a sandwich at Hardee’s and then we were quickly back on the road.
We’ve been making excellent time in every aspect of our trip home and today was no exception.  We rolled into my sister’s about 2 PM and most of her family was due in for supper tonight.  Tom and Rhonda, LouAnn and Pat, and Jeanne and Amelia had come for the Dinner.  Along with Marge, Sharon and Myself we had nine at the table.  LouAnn had made a beautiful dish of Lasagna and Dinner was very good indeed with Strawberry Shortcake to chase it down.  We had a good time reminiscing with Marge’s daughters and their husbands.
By 9:45 we had had it and went out to the motorhome for the night.  It was too late to watch any TV and we hadn’t bothered to even set up the dish.

We left My sister Marges this morning having been aced out for Breakfast by one of her friends that picked her up.  We sat and talked with Jeannie for awhile but hit the road around noon.  By this time we were both hungry again and looked for a restaurant.  We had had Kringle and berries at my sisters but that wasn’t holding us any longer.  We managed to see a Perkin’s advertised on the highway so we pulled off just before Milwaukee.
We sat down to a nice Lunch.  Sharon had a Pork Chop meal while I had a Shrimp and Cod number that was quite good indeed.  While we were in the restaurant it started to rain cats and dogs.  We were hoping that it would subside just long enough to get in the motorhome and continue on.  And as luck would have it that’s exactly what happened.
We drove on to my son Sean’s for the next hour and a half and just as we arrived, the rain let up again so we could unhook the car and go to my daughter Stephanie’s.  She was the only one home on a weekday so we decided to go over there and spend a couple of hours.  As it turned out we ordered Dinner from there and spent the whole night there until we left to come home about 9.
We tried to set up the dish which was a waste of time with the rain coming down as hard as it was.  We gave up after about 20 minutes of trying, and watched a tape of Deadliest Catch instead.  We both stayed up until about 11 and then caved and fell into deep slumber.

We left Sean’s house this morning at a leisurely pace knowing all we had to drive was to home today.  We made our first stop before we got on the highway at Perkin’s Restaurant.  The place was relatively empty during the time that we were there.  We ate our Breakfasts and then headed back out to the road home.
We would make only one other stop on the way.  A stop for gas when Sharon thought that we wouldn’t make it to home.  We also stopped at the Post Office for the mail that was being held for the past couple of weeks.
We arrived home about 1 PM with everything intact for the time being.
