Having made plans for our trip home yesterday we only had a couple of things holding us here for the rest of the week. The first thing was the pills that I had sent for, at the Post Office, and also our mail for the week.We took off this morning and headed straight for the Post Office. As luck would have it, the things we were waiting for were both there and we picked them up.
On the way back home we stopped at the grocery store and picked up a couple of things for the next week. It wasn’t a full shopping day and we only spent about 50 bucks.
We came home and battened down the hatches for a scorcher of a day today. It was already getting warm inside the coach and Sharon turned on the air. I don’t think she was planning on sitting outside in the sun today to read her book. I know I wasn’t planning on sitting anywhere near the sun today.
For lunch Sharon whipped up some Tuna Fish Salad Spread for sandwiches. It turned out to be quite good along with Dorito’s. After that we settled in for a quiet afternoon in front of the tube. Sharon with her book and me with my friend the recliner.
By suppertime Sharon was willing to brave the elements outside and cook Playmoor Burgers on the grill. I stayed inside where it was nice and cool and comfortable and cooked the French Fries. I’m not as much of a zealot when it comes to food to stand outside in the heat and cook it. I’ll make it up to her when we get home.
It was still hot outside after supper and the air conditioner ran for us most of the day. Every time we turned it off it started warming up in the coach again. Man, we need to escape from this weather.
We planted ourselves in front of the Telly for the rest of the night. Monday is usually a pretty good night for TV so we had enough to watch to get us to our bedtime. I think we finally decided that Thursday will be our exit day from here. We’ll start the long, slow trek home from then.

Today was forecast to be another scorcher for temperature. I got outside early and checked the air in our tires for the trip home. We had planned to leave this Thursday which would give us a couple of more days on the road and a little more flexibility in our stops.
By the time I got done with the tires which I only needed a few pounds in one tire, I was sweating pretty good. Man, it was hot out there. Sharon had turned on the air before she left for the office to get a refund for the 4 days that we’ll be leaving early. When she got back she informed me that they don’t give refunds anymore. There was a simple enough solution to that problem, we will just stay until next Tuesday. We don’t have to be anywhere 4 days earlier.
By lunchtime we were waiting for a call from Dennis and Mary Ceshker who were in Mexico for the Dentist and were expected back today. We had planned on going to Mimi’s Café for lunch when they got back, and depending on how long her appointment took, they would be calling us when they got close to Casa Grande.
After my original stint out in the weather I retreated to the Air Conditioning and stayed there until we got the call from Dennis and Mary just before two o’clock. It was about the time when we had expected them to be back in town. They told u they were about 20 minutes from the restaurant so we got ourselves ready and left also.
We had a very good lunch with everybody ordering something different. Sharon had a Pork Quesadilla and I had Crab Cakes with a citrus remoulade. Mary and Dennis had a Burger and Fries and soup and a BLT respectively. It was all quite good indeed.
After lunch we invited them over for awhile and they followed us back to the motorhome around all the major traffic. It must have been a little confusing to them with all the turns we made, but it really was just going around all the traffic. They stayed for at least a couple of hours before they decided that it was time to start heading back home.
We got a late start on TV tonight so I had to jockey around with the DVR to manage to catch most of our regular TV programs. Deadliest Catch was also starting tonight and they had a 2 hour premiere running tonight that I had to ft into the schedule. We managed to catch everything but we had to stay up until 11 to watch it all. Even though its convenient, sometimes catching everything can be a curse.

We had a plan for Breakfast this morning that included Subway Restaurant. They’ve been advertising a two-for-one deal on Subs if you purchase them before 9 AM. And we like the Steak, Egg and Cheese on Flatbread Sub so as soon as Sharon got dressed, she took off for Subway just up the street, and picked up a couple. We have had them before, and these were really loaded, so it was plenty for Breakfast.
After Breakfast Sharon took off on a much deserved shopping trip, alone. She had mentioned it a couple of days ago, but lately she hasn’t had any luck finding anything worthwhile. It will probably be pretty much the same today.
The wind picked up strength today and started blowing pretty hard. It usually calms down here at night so I’m hoping that it won’t affect the dish tonight.
We were hoping to get a call from Mary and Jerry Milan today since this was the night we go to the Elks Club with them. But I was home with the phone all day today, and no call.
I was right about the shopping trip. She never found anything for herself but picked up a few things for other people including her honey. I got a new pair of black shorts from the trip and a couple of bottles of coke.
By the time late afternoon rolled around Sharon had already made a plan for our Dinner tonight. She was making Rigatoni and meatballs for our dining pleasure. It’s one of my favorites so I wasn’t complaining about not going to the Elks. In fact, in retrospect, it was better than the Elks. We had a little salad and Garlic Bread to go along with our pasta and everything was very good.
The wind had subsided by the time TV time came around tonight. We managed to take ourselves up to 10:30 with programming and tapes tonight. Although we did have some recorded stuff still on the DVR for later.

We were off this morning to Golden Corral for the $5.99 Breakfast Buffet. The restaurant was relatively empty today even though it was still busy. With the prices they charge I doubt if they’re ever not busy. We got our fill and then we headed out for home.
We stopped at Walgreen’s on the way home so Sharon could pick up a Greeting Card for Stephanie Gauthier’s new baby. She had the baby around December but we’re just getting around to sending out the gift. Right on time. When you’re on “vacation” it’s hard to remember the details.
By the time we got back home it looked like it was really going to be a nice day today. Not too hot for a change.
Even though we were marveling at what a nice day it was going to be, we really had nothing to take care of today. But after Sharon got home she got the gift ready for Stephanie’s baby and went off to the Post Office to get it mailed out.
The rest of the afternoon was spent just sitting around and reading and watching the tube. By 1 o’clock we had exhausted our radio shows, mostly Rush, and it was time to catch up on the magazines that have been piling up for the last couple of months.
Neither of us was really hungry for supper when the time rolled around. But we certainly had to eat something to keep us from snacking on everything in the joint all night. So Sharon kicked off the eating by warming up some leftover Rigatoni and Meatballs for herself. I followed shortly afterward by heating up the portion that was left. Needless to say were happy with ourselves for the rest of the night.
We settled in front of the TV for the night and found most of the programs, except for a couple, were repeats. The DVR helped us out to watch the original programming instead of the repeats.
We lasted until 11 tonight before we finally gave up the ghost and headed off to bed. For some reason it felt like we had had a very long day today.

We’ve really had nothing to do over the past few days and today was really no different. I sat around and worked on the Newsletter in the morning until it was time to go for lunch to Burger King for a Fish Sandwich. We’ve really had fish sandwiches at almost all the fast-food places and except for Carl’s Jr. Burger King has the best one. So at lunch time we got in the car and sought out the Burger King in town.
We also wanted to stop at the Thrift Store that Sharon had found the other day. So after we left Burger King we headed over to Cottonwood Street and the M.A.S.H. Thrift Store for a look around. We realized as soon as we came through the door that we probably wouldn’t be purchasing anything here today. The first room was loaded with furniture that we couldn’t use and except for a couple of side rooms, there was really nothing there that we were interested in. Sharon found some glass ware in a back room but didn’t buy anything.
We drove around a while and through a couple of RV Parks that Sharon wanted to see. She was hoping she could find a Park Model for sale with the price on it so we could see what they’re asking for the units. We drove through two large parks and although there were a few models for sale, there was nothing with a price on it.
We don’t go to the pool here in the afternoon because the pool is only heated to about 85 degrees and the hot tub is not working. After you come out of the pool water you freeze before you can get dried off. I’m just not interested in that situation. And Sharon could care lees about going swimming anyway.
We sat around and watched the tube until Supper today when Sharon whipped up Wiener Wraps, Mac and Cheese and Baked Beans. An excellent change-of-pace that we haven’t had for weeks.
After Dinner we staked out our spots in front of the tube for the night. There was a Lionel Ritchie Special on CBS tonight so that network was going to be off limits for most of tonight. We still had taped shows that would fill in for the shows we couldn’t watch tonight.
We both lasted until 10:30 tonight anyway. Sharon had a Cross-Stitch that she was working on and I had enough to take me up til bedtime.

We awoke this morning to a quite chilly day. We ran the furnace when we first got up and it didn’t seem to warm up even after the sun had a chance to shine for awhile.
Sharon had planned on catching up on the laundry and took off with it right after she ate her cereal for Breakfast. She stopped back at the motorhome and said that the dryers take 45 minutes and she didn’t feel like sitting there waiting. In any event, she was back in a couple of hours.
We reheated last night’s supper for lunch today. The Wiener Wraps and Mac and Cheese and the Baked Beans solved our lunch problem very nicely.
By early this afternoon the wind had picked up and even dropped a little rain on us this afternoon. It wasn’t enough rain to make a difference, and it came and went without a whimper. The wind continued until later on in the evening.
Sharon decided to go to church this afternoon and took off just before supper for mass. She had taken out chicken that she was going to cook for supper, but decided that she would pick up Kentucky Fried on the way home instead.
She was home by about 6 with her bucket of Chicken and Mashed Potatoes and Cole Slaw. This was one of the first times this year that we’ve had KFC for Dinner. We both like it very much and why we haven’t had it this year is beyond me. But we sat down with our KFC and it was very good as usual.
The rest of the night was taken up with TV. First we watched tapes until the wind died down and then we watched a few of our regulars even though they were repeats. We are having, and are going to have, a night that features only original programming from here until summer. Even the shows that feature original programming are mostly advertising their final episodes over the next couple of weeks. So we don’t have a lot to look forward to over the next month. Much like what we’ve been experiencing since Christmas.

We awoke to a sunshiny day but it still wasn’t that warm outside. The temps have been down over the past couple of days and not really warming up that much throughout the day.
Sharon took off today to go to K-Mart and return the shorts she had bought for me th other day. She didn’t care for the way they looked on me, so that was one of the things she wanted to exchange. She also had a couple of staples that she wanted to pick up for when we get on the road.
I wanted to clean the windshield and the front of the motorhome today so I stayed home when she left on her shopping trip. It wasn’t like I was going to be any help anyway.
I got my work all done today and then I sat down to take a break in one of our lawn chairs. I realized immediately that the chairs were still soaking wet from the rain we had yesterday. So I sat there for about 10 minutes with a soaking wet Butt before I came inside to change my shorts and underwear. Man sometimes things just go bad.
Sharon got back and decided that we were going to have Tacos for Supper tonight. That was fine with me.
We really didn’t have anything else to do for the rest of the afternoon today so I sat and watched the tube and caught up on my taped programs that were on the DVR. Tonight was going to be another rotten night on TV and a typical Sunday Evening.
We had a tough time making it to bedtime tonight. We were already surfing by 8 o’clock and fortunately finding stuff to watch. We mad it to 10 but not without a lot of effort.
