The sun was out and the wind was gone this morning. It still wasn’t very pleasant out in the morning but it looked like it had possibilities today. It’s supposed to warm up over the next week and be in the 80's by the weekend. That’ll be hard to take after the last two weeks we’ve had here.
Sharon was off to Curves this morning when she got up and I was into my Journal and just cooking my own Breakfast while she was gone. She was back in her usual 90 minutes after her drive over and back from Palm Springs.
Phil and Joyce arrived back in the park today after their month-long stint back home. After I had Sharon proofread the Newsletter we walked over to the Bach’s and sat for a while after they got set up. We got caught up over the last month rather quickly and then we left and went back home.
It was lunchtime by the time we got here and we sat down to finish up the egg salad and the chicken salad from yesterday. It was still quite good especially when you chase them down with Cheetos.
Sharon decided that she still had time for a short nap before we went to the pool today so she headed off to the bedroom. I headed off to the shower for the daily clean-up and then I put my swimsuit on so I’d be ready to go to the pool.
By 2 we got ready and headed over to the pool. We were quite surprised to see so many people in the pool. I think the weather has finally driven the campers to the pool. The water is always nice no matter what the temp outside is, but it seems when it get warm outside the people think that the pool will be nicer. It isn’t. We had a twenty foot circle bobbing in the pool today.
We stayed at the pool til around 4 and then headed home, not necessarily for our game of Jeopardy, but just because it was getting close to Suppertime. We did however, play with the teens during the Teen Tournament. We had Pigs in a Blanket, Kraft Dinner and Steakhouse Beans for Supper tonight. That has got to be one of my favorite meals. It’s so simple, but so good.
Our Electric has been going in and out all day today, and just as we sat down for TV tonight, it took a dump. It was off til about 8 o’clock but we still had enough time to see most of our shows on the west networks. The east/west networks are a salvation for taping and watching. At 10 we headed for the rubber room and taped the rest of our shows.

It looks like its going to be another nice day today. The sun is out and its supposed to warm up a bit today on its way to a warm weekend.
Sharon was off to her exercise class in the clubhouse and I was putting the finishing touches on the Newsletter and getting it printed. I had already sent it out to the our e-mail friends, and now the Hard Copy had to be dealt with. Since I’ve been sending them out e-mail, I only have 7 copies that I need to make and send out through regular mail. I got all the copies folded, stapled and ready o mail and then I walked over to the office to mail them out.
By this time Sharon was gone with the laundry down to Sam’s Town RV park. They’ve got a load of washers and dryers down there and it makes quick work out of the laundry. She can do it all up in 90 minutes.
By the time she got back at lunchtime she was hungry for food. And as a matter of fact, so was I. We sat down for lunch and then had a couple of hours to kill before we were intending to go to the pool. And of course those hours could be taken up with a little nap before we head over. We both had our eyes slam shut but we were up by 2 and headed toward the water.
There were quite a few people already in the pool much like yesterday. I think people were imagining that the water would be very nice the last two days, but it really never gets any warmer. It’s always in the 90's and very nice. The only variable is the weather outside the pool. It has been cold for walking home afterwards over the past couple of weeks.
After we got home Sharon called Ron and Ev Muster to see if they wanted to get together for a couple of drinks before they leave tomorrow. They’ll be headed to Mesa for the next month. It’s possible that they might still be there when we leave here and head back toward Casa Grande.
They stopped over tonight and we had a couple of cocktails while we sat and chatted. They left about 10:30 which was quite late for catching any TV for the night. Besides any good shows that were on tonight I taped before Ron and Ev came over. We’ll manage to watch them over the next couple of days.
After we cleaned up the glasses from the late night cocktail hour we ambled off to the padded room and got ourselves horizontal for the night.

It was quite a pleasant day today with no wind, so far, and the sun brightly shining. Sharon was planning on checking out the patio sales in the park today instead of doing either of her exercise classes. As soon as she got ready she was off and walking around the park. I never find anything at these patio sales anymore so I don’t even bother. She had planned on looking for some books to read so she may have some luck in that respect.
It was another Taco Wednesday today so by lunchtime Phil and Joyce picked us up and we headed over to the VFW. It was quite busy today and we had to wait for a table. The crowd should be tapering off by now but it sure doesn’t seem to be subsiding. It took quite a while to get our food and later found out that Daisy was cooking in the kitchen by herself. That seems like quite a bit of work for a woman of her age, although I think she could handle it.
By the time we got home it was time to go to the pool. The sky was now overcast and the sun went away. By the time we got to the pool we realized that the overcast skies had probably scared a number of people away from the pool. There was hardly anyone there, but when the sun came back out, the folks started showing up. It was crowded again when we pulled up stakes and headed for home.
After we got home we sat in front of the tube with our peanuts and Diet Coke and enjoyed the finals of the Teen Tournament of Jeopardy. I wasn’t happy with the winner. I thought he was a little arrogant. He had lost an earlier game because of his arrogance and I was hoping he’d lose in the finals. But the last two days he played a little more conservatively and won.
The rest of the night was reserved for the shows we regularly watch on Wednesday nights. They took us very nicely to 10 o’clock and our usual bedtime. We went to bed like good boys and girls without a fight.

We were off on a Breakfast date with Terry and Jo-Anne and Phil and Joyce this morning. We picked up Phil and Joyce and we headed for the Agua Soleil Café, formerly Doc’s Diner, in Desert Hot Springs. Doc’s Diner was closed a couple of times because of rat infestations so I’ll be looking for rodents when we get there. They’ve offered two for 1 meals in the paper that we get here in the campground so we’re going to try it just this once. And actually the service was a little slow, but the food was good, and everybody enjoyed it.
After we got back and dropped off Phil and Joyce, Sharon took off with the car to Urgent Care in Palm Springs. She’s got a sore foot and may have hurt it during one of her exercise sessions. She left about 11 and I didn’t hear anything til about 2 when it was time to go to the pool. She said she just got in and I should go to the pool by myself.
I went to the pool and there was hardly anybody there. The gathering of the group expanded exponentially however over the period of time that I was there. By the time I got home at 4 PM Sharon was back from the doctors, sporting a pair of crutches and a shoe to protect her foot. She’s got a ligament strain in her foot and she’ll be nursing that for the next few weeks. That means I’ll probably be waiting on her for a change. Oh the horrors.
While discussing our supper tonight we decided that as long as I had to run into town for her prescription I was going to pick up KFC for Supper. I got right on it as I headed out for town.
I didn’t have any luck with the prescription as they wanted me to pick it up 3 hours later so I told them to hang onto it and I’d pick it up tomorrow. I went over to KFC and got our chicken along with the Senior Discount. Sharon was surprised that I got the discount because I’m not usually the one who pays the bill when we go out. But I knew that KFC offered the discount, but you have to ask for it.
I had taped a couple of shows before I left tonight just in case I got hung up in town. I did manage to get hung up at the pharmacy, so by taping my shows, I didn’t miss anything when I got home. The cripple and I managed to stay up until 10 tonight before we finally caved and headed for the bed.

We were off this morning to pick up Sharon’s prescription in town and to pick up a few essential groceries. We managed to find everything at Rite Aid where the script was at. We also needed to find an ATM on the way home so Sharon could pick up some cash.
We had decided with Phil and Joyce that we were going to the Pak Inn today for lunch so I called Terry and Jo-Anne to see if they were interested. They had a previous engagement which everyone knew about except me. Pak Inn is our usual Chinese Restaurant that we absolutely love. We’ve been frequenting the Pak Inn for the past several years and they’re food is very good.
We got back to the campground in plenty of time to sit down and watch TV for awhile before we took off for our lunch. We were driving again today and picked up Phil and Joyce at 1 and headed over to the restaurant. Everything was very good just like it always is and we walked out with full tummies.
We got back home and Sharon and I sat down for a few minutes before going to the pool and that was a huge mistake. She got sleepy and decided she didn’t care if she went to the pool or not and I kinda agreed with her. This was the kiss of death for the pool for today. It was already after 3. We woke up after it was too late for the pool, but neither of us was all that concerned anyway.
There was no supper happening tonight since we ate a late lunch and loaded ourselves up really good. We’ll snack on something later on, I’m sure.
We set ourselves up in front of the boob tube for the night but there wasn’t much on tonight. Our regular shows were all repeats and we wondered why they’re re-running them at this time. We had a couple of shows on tape and we watched them tonight along with the repeats. But we didn’t stay up any longer than we absolutely had to.

A typical Saturday morning today except that we’re not going rummage sale-ing today because of Sharon’s foot. Her strained ligaments won’t let her walk around so we’re not even going to try to go.
We also talked about going to the “College of the Desert” for their flea market this weekend. But that’s on hold now too because of the foot. Oh well, we’ve still got plenty of time left for both. This would have been a good weekend since neither of us could walk a lick.
By lunchtime we hadn’t seen any other souls for the day, and just sat around with the TV until it was time to go to the pool. We went early today and there was hardly anyone there. It would soon fill up but I think the people were scared away by the wind. Although it wasn’t blowing that hard, there had to be some explanation of why the pool was almost empty. We were welcomed back today after missing yesterday. We did have a rather nice nap yesterday instead of going to the pool.
I actually got out of the pool a little early today so I could bask in the hot tub for a few minutes before leaving for home. I told Sharon that if I was cooking steaks tonight I was going to do it in the daylight. I hate cooking on the grill after it gets dark. And as soon as the sun goes down it turns pitch black out here. There are hardly ever any clouds in the sky which light up the sky after sundown, so that you can see when you’re grilling.
We were home in plenty of time and we started cooking our supper. Sharon was having a little salad and Baked Potato with her steak, and I was having a little spaghetti, Baked Potato and Garlic Bread with mine. We both had a little vino the wash it all down. Everything was very good. Sharon was happy because she hadn’t had steak in some time. I however, was indifferent. Steak and I can part ways anytime without either of us missing the other.
I was going to be on the dish detail tonight with no help from gimpy. I really didn’t feel much like getting to them right after supper so I hid them under the cover on the sink and decided to wash them tomorrow when Sharon takes off for church.
For the rest of the night we camped out in front of the tub watching prison shows on TruTv for the most part. They had a series on called “Beyond Scared Straight” and we watched them for the night. There was about 3 hours of that on tonight. It took us right up to 10 and bedtime.

Sharon was off to church again this morning as soon as she got up. Before she got home the wind started blowing again and this time with a vengeance We were expected to have 30 mph winds for today and tomorrow. And it certainly looks like the prediction will come true.
By the time Sharon got home the wind was whistling pretty good, but the strange thing was, that our satellite dish wasn’t being affected. With very few interruptions the signal was coming in just fine. We figured that the wind had to be blowing in exactly the right direction.
The NASCAR race at Las Vegas was on by the time she got home, but there were a couple of other shows that I was surfing back and forth to. Sharon took her medicine for her foot and it almost immediately put her out cold. She doesn’t accept medicine well.
We almost opted out of the pool this afternoon because of the wind. The day was nice and sunshiny out, so we braved the wind and headed out. There wasn’t many people there today but a few more showed up after we got there. Apparently folks not believing that it was a totally wasted day. The pool was loaded with tiny leaves that had blown in from the surrounding trees, but fortunately they all gathered in a corner downwind from where we were at.
Joyce was one of the no-shows today but Phil asked us if we wanted to stop over for a cocktail hour after the pool. We had already worked out our eating schedule for the week since Terry got the ball rolling with a trip to the Casino on Thursday. It took us a few minutes after we got home but we stopped over to Phil and Joyce’s for awhile. Afterwards it was pitch black for us to walk back home. Man it gets dark out here.
We came back home and ate Dinner before we settled into our chairs for the night to watch the Telly. Sunday is generally a pretty rotten night for TV, and tonight was no exception. Except for a couple of shows that we usually watch, we had to surf and tape to find enough to watch for the night. But we made it to 10 and then folded up like a cheap circus tent.
