We had nothing to do this morning except decide whether or not we would buy the feature from Verizon that would allow us to check e-mail tethered to the phone.  Since we appear to have been cut off from them on our free system, it seems we may have to now purchase a system to continue.
We also thought that as long as we were going to be on that side of town anyway, we'd stop for lunch and eat at Mimi's Café.   We've been there before and in fact the food is very good there and quite reasonable.
After lunch we decided to drive over to Los Colinas RV Park and see our friend Jayce Dale.  We hadn't seen her since we came to town and we usually stop over there at least once while we're here at this time.  We did, and stayed for about an hour or so, and then headed back toward home.
We stopped at K-Mart on the way home and Sharon picked up another vacuum cleaner.  Our old Dirt Devil was on its last legs and it came to a sudden demise this morning when she took it out to vacuum.  She bought a new Eureka Upright with some assembly required.  She had no idea "how much" assembly was required until she opened the box.  She dove right into it though, even though I offered to help her, after I dumped the holding tanks.  But she managed to get it all together before I finished.  What a girl!  She vacuumed up the hacienda after she finished and declared "I love it"!
We had Pork and Beef in gravy Sandwiches for supper tonight.  It was a concoction that Sharon had mixed up at home and then froze it.  It was very good indeed.  We also had a couple of leftover Potato Pancakes with it.  Yum, Yum.
Our night would conclude with gazing at the idiot box for a few hours.  There was some decent TV on tonight at least.  We only lasted until our usual time before the eyes got heavy.  I took off for bed while Sharon tried to get on the Internet.  I don't know if she was successful or not, since I was making zzzzz's when she came in the bedroom.

It was beginning to look like another beautiful day today and we had nothing formal planned today.
After Breakfast I tried to scavenge some parts off the old vacuum cleaner but there wasn't much that I could take apart.  I plugged it in to see if the motor was still working, but it didn't do a thing.   Decided to just put the whole thing in a bag and toss it.               I went to the Post Office to wait in a long line for my computer discs I asked Jennifer to mail to me last week.  They still are not here.  I don't know if it's the mail person or the Post Office to blame.  Priority Mail is supposed to take 4-5 days and its already been 8 days.  This wouldn't be the first time that the Post Office screwed up our mail.
By this time, and after listening to Rush on the radio, lunch was on the horizon.  Sharon made up some Egg Salad and we had sandwiches and chips to hold us over.  It was a lunch that hit the spot for variety.
After lunch we both relaxed and soon were taking our own naps.  Between the naps and TV, that took up most of the afternoon.
We knew for sure that we would be having BBQed Chicken Wings and Fries for Supper tonight.  They turned out quite good and we settled in front of the Boob Tube for the night.  We had some good shows on tonight so we won't be surfing  at all.  I think the Christmas re-runs will be starting soon so our original programming will be limited in the future.  But for now we're still okay.
We both hung in there until 10 and then folded up our tents and re-caged the animals for the night.

We took off early this morning with intentions of going to Golden Corral today for their $4.99 Breakfast.  It was quite busy when we got there even though we did find a parking place out front right by the door.  It didn't take long to wonder why restaurants don't offer a cheap Buffet anymore, with the plates of food that the waitress carried off to dump in the garbage.  It didn't seem to matter whether you were young or old, it was quite a shame to observe.  We did, however, enjoy the Breakfast very much even with the distractions.
After Breakfast we decided to take a drive and check out the Mall across the highway just to see what was new for stores.  We didn't see anything new but that was probably because the new stores didn't interest us.
After we got home I went to the Post Office again to check for my installation discs for the computer.  They weren't there and I wasn't surprised.  The only reason for them not to be there is because they weren't mailed out.  Big surprise.
We had nothing to do this afternoon so we just sat around and Sharon stitched for the afternoon.  I watched TV until it was time to go to Jerry and Mary Milan's.  We had arranged to go over and listen to her presentation sales meeting.  We were planning on going to the Elks tonight for Burgers after we got done.  The presentation took about an hour and then we were off to eat.
We had our usual food and beer while we were there and then went back to Jerry and Mary's for a drink before we came home.  While we were on the way back to the Milan's we got a message from Jess that she had the installation discs for the computer.  How she got them, and when she got them is right now a big mystery.  We won't have enough time to get them now until we get to Desert Hot Springs.  PERFECT
I tried to get Sharon to come home from Jerry and Mary's and I think she was mad at me when we came home.  She didn't talk to me all the way home but I did my share by not talking to her either.  We got home way too late to watch any TV but early enough to just go to bed.  So I caved, while she stayed up and played Solitaire.

After we got up and got crackin' this morning we decided that we were tired of this piecemeal e-mail system we were on, and we headed out to the Verizon Store in the Mall.  It was time to sign up for the Broadband System that Phil Bach had told us about.  I know that with Phil doing the research for himself, that it saves us from having to study which system is best for us, since we basically do the same thing as he does.  They were lining up at the store when we got there and our time was limited so we actually left after about 30 minutes and went home to eat lunch.
We also had to go to Tempe this afternoon and didn't want to get a late start.  I had called Blue Cross last week to find an otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist) to continue with my plugged ear.  It was going on 8 weeks that the problem has persisted, and I have been anxious to find someone to rectify the situation.  We left for Tempe at about 1 PM for a 2:15 appointment.  We arrived in plenty of time only to have to wait for at least 4 patients who came after me, to be called in before me.  Needless to say I had to mention it to the receptionist and I was satisfied with her explanation.  Oh well.  I was satisfied with the Doctor, however, so the trip and the aggravation were worth it, especially if he clears up my problem.
We were done in Tempe about 3:30 and thought that we would run into a ton of traffic on the way back home.  It actually wasn't that bad so we went directly to the Verizon Store to talk to "Clarence" whom we had spoken to the other day.  We had explained our situation and what we wanted to do, so that was another reason we didn't want to talk to anyone else this morning.  After about an hour we actually got our Broadband settled and acquired the phone we wanted.
On the way home we stopped at In-N-Out Burger and brought home a couple of Double-Double Cheeseburgers with Fries.  We finally got home just before our regular programming started at 6 PM.  After eating Sharon took off for the Walgreen's a couple of blocks away to pick up my 2 prescriptions for my ear.  Se was back in a flash and I had downloaded all our e-mail by then
Sharon got an opportunity to check out the Hometown Newspaper online for the first time in the last 5 days.  It seemed everybody was happy again.
We settled in for the rest of the night with our TV and a couple of episodes of Jeopardy that I had recorded over the last 2 days.  By 10 we were both ready for the soft room and the slamming shut of the eyes.

We had a couple of things to pick up today so we took off at about 11 and headed over to the Beauty Supply on Cottonwood to pick up some hair products.  After that we stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few items and then went on to Burger King to pick up our usual Fish Sandwich for the day.
While we were at Burger King we sat facing the door and were completely amazed at the goings on happening there.  It seemed to be a stop-off place for traveling aliens.  The parking lot was full and the restaurant was empty.  There was a constant parade of individuals going to the bathroom and then heading outside.  Every once in a while there was a family who stopped to eat.  It was an amazing sight and apparently happens more often than not.  I told Sharon that we must have this seat more often. (Facing the door)
After the "show" at Burger King we took off for home to just sit and relax for the afternoon.  After we watched our pre-recorded game shows, I turned on "It's a Wonderful Life."  Neither of us had seen the whole movie.  I was pleasantly surprised to see how complex the movie actually was.  Our of all the times we had seen parts of the movie, we had never seen it from the beginning, or all the way through.  It was quite a good movie even though it was somewhat hokey in parts.
After the movie we fended for ourselves for Supper tonight and it was just a matter of throwing a sandwich or two together with a few chips.
We settled in to watch TV for the night, even though Friday is a lousy night for TV.  We managed to surf some entertainment for the night.  Right up until 10 when the curtain closed on the last act and the actors left the theater.

I was up for about 10 minutes this morning when the furnace started blowing cold air.  There was 2 possibilities and neither one was very desirable.  It just so happened that it was the lesser of the two evils, we were out of LP.  A broken furnace was not a very favorable alternative.
Even so, by the time Sharon got up she was wondering why it was so cold in the "house."  When I told her she knew what we were in store for.  I walked to the office on the outside chance that the Propane truck would be coming through today........no such luck.  We'd have to shut everything down, and disconnect, and drive out to get some.  Which meant that all the X-Mas Decorations would have to come down.
We had everything down and ready to move by 9 and it only took us about 15 minutes to get filled up with gas.  It was almost more bother than it was worth.  But if we hadn't needed it for the furnace we probably would have "toughed it out" until Wednesday, when we move.  Our little space heater would never keep up at this point cause it gets too cold at night even though the days are 70 degrees.
We were back on site and set up by 10 so the ordeal was more of a pain in the a__  than anything else.  Our portable icemaker fell off the counter and rolled around on the floor but it doesn't seem to have been any worse for the wear.  We made some ice when we got back and it's still working.
Sharon left to catch up on our laundry after we got back and she finished that up just before noon.  It was around lunchtime by the time we got re-settled again with the dish up and working, and Sharon made some Chicken Salad for sandwiches.  We had that, with Chips, and it turned out quite nice.
I think our next stop for LP better be when we leave Quartzsite on the way to California, if we're smart.  The forecast doesn't seem to be warning up any more, anytime soon.
The weather has really been quite nice, in the 70's for the past week. I guess we can't ask for anything better than that.  In fact the whole country got nailed with a snowstorm this past couple of days.  My brother and sister, out east, got between 12 and 16 inches.
We just sat around this afternoon, and checked out our TV fare for the day. It was a Saturday so I knew we would be surfing tonight. And that's what we did for most of the day, since there wasn't much on.  At night they should be starting the Christmas re-runs next week.
We actually found a show called "the Police Women of Broward County" on TLC to watch.  It was quite entertaining to watch for awhile.  We went to our usual "Cops" at 7 and then surfed for the rest of the night.  By 10, the TV, and the home folks were done for the night.  In fact Sharon had already caved by then.

Sharon was off to church this morning as soon as she got up.  She informed me that if there was a nice big breakfast waiting for her when she got back she would eat it.  I got the message.  The only thing I didn't get was the Breakfast ready by the time she got home.  I was working on the Newsletter and lost track of time.  But she did get her Breakfast immediately afterward.  And it turned out very good.  Boy she's lucky.
By the time we got the dishes cleaned up and put away it was time to search for the Packer game on TV.  Even though we knew it wouldn't be on, we searched on the outside chance that they might have switched games that they planned to cover because of the huge snowstorm out east.  No such luck, so we had to watch another game to get the score of the game on the "crawl" across the screen.  And actually they cut to the Packer game right at the end to show Pittsburgh scoring the winning touchdown with nothing left on the clock.  I was crestfallen to say the least. Another bonehead coaching mistake cost them the game.
While the games were on Sharon made our Supper for us.  We would be having BBQ Sandwiches and Potato Salad tonight.  A simple meal that happened to go down very nicely.
After Supper we surfed to find something to watch tonight.  But even surfing we didn't find anything decent.  Sharon opted to Cross Stitch all night and I just settled for anything that was on.  I managed to find "Cops" for a couple of hours, and a couple of other shows that took us to 10 PM.  For the most part I couldn't wait to get to bed, and then the both of us had a rotten night trying to sleep.
