The first thing on our agenda this morning was to go to the Golden Corral across the street from our campground and have their buffet for Breakfast.  That certainly gave us a good start for the day and eliminated the possibility of having to look for a lunch place today.
We actually got on the road about 10 AM and for the first time in years we passed right by Lambert's Café after having stopped for gas on the way.  The motorhome wanted to turn in when we reached the Ozark exit, but I fought the wheel and I won.  Disappointed, we just drove on.
We needed to stop for gas a couple of times today cause we were looking for the cheapest price.  We're back in the area of expensive gas and need to be careful about what we put in.  It will get more expensive as we get closer to home.  After today we'll need to make one more gas stop before we hit the U.P. of Michigan.
Our day was pretty uneventful until we hit some construction just outside of St. Louis.  After that it was pretty smooth sailing all the way through St. Louis and into Illinois.
We arrived at our campground, Honey Bend RV Resort, in Litchfield, Illinois about 4 Pm and immediately got settled.  We've been here at Honey Bend several times because it's a great halfway point to my sister Marge's from Branson.  We dumped our holding tanks since it was about 4 days since we had cleaned them out.  We were carrying water from the last 4 days and had planned to dump everything here.
We got the dish set up immediately after dumping and got ready to watch the event of the evening, "24".  I don't miss "24" and I don't care if I'm on the road or not.
We managed to watch all our regular shows tonight and it took us nicely to 10 o'clock.    Our schedule is pretty much set now and we'll be at home Thursday, or Friday at the latest.  We went to bed satisfied that we had had a good day altogether.

We were on the road this morning at a leisurely pace even though we were rolling by 9 o'clock. Our stop today was to be at my sister Marge's in Racine.  About a half hour after we got on the road we got a call from her saying that Wally was not feeling good after having played cards with someone on Sunday who had a cold.  Marge was already not feeling good having contracted pneumonia, and this new development was enough to scare us off.  We picked up a couple of colds this past winter and we were sick for almost a month having passed it back and forth between us.  We regretted the situation but we decided to skip the trip to Racine for this year.
We needed to call Sean and Stephanie and see if they would be available today so we could still salvage 1 of our two stops.  After contacting them we discovered that they would both be available tonight and our plan was starting to come together for sure.
We arrived at the Rocheleau Campground at 4 and nobody was home, which we knew, so we got set up and plugged in for the night.  About a half hour after we arrived Sean came home.  We were still setting up the satellite at that time.  So after a few minutes I went inside and said hello while Sharon was checking e-mail.  She followed me after about 5 minutes.
We had a great get-together with all the kids and Sharon and I sprung for the KFC for the night.  Everybody seems to like their Chicken so we buy it when we get here.  And again we all devoured the poor bird just like always.
The party broke up about 9 and we all went home.  I watched the Deadliest Catch and Jeopardy before we retired for the night.. We were in bed snoozing by 10:30.

We were up and ready to go this morning, and we only had a couple of hundred miles to go to get home, so we really got a leisurely start.  Sean and Katelin were still home so after we got our cords picked up and the jacks retracted, we went inside to say good-bye again.
We were on the road looking for a gas station right from he get-go.  Since we opted not to stop at my sister's house we came to West Bend on different highways and there wasn't a decent gas price on the way.  As we got closer to West Bend the price was climbing from the 280's into the 290's.  We were hoping to find something before we hit Green Bay cause the price is always high there.  As we got as far north as Appleton, (30 miles from Green Bay) we managed to find a station that had a price of $2.79 and we knew it wouldn't get any better than that.
After leaving Appleton we breezed right through Green Bay and stopped at our usual McDonald's for lunch just north of GB.
Getting back on the road again we were now just 90 minutes from home.  We pulled into the yard about 1 o'clock and took the next half hour just getting set up again.  We'll still be living in the motorhome until we get all our utilities turned back on again, but it was good to be back home.
The weather is not as good as we have been used to for the last 5 months but what are you going to do.  We are also home about 10 days earlier than our target date.  It didn't take as long to get home as we figured it would.  We'll have to re-calculate for next year.
