We were up and rolling this morning a little bit early. Sharon had a Doctor's appointment at 9 in Palm Springs that was set up a couple of weeks ago. She had a diagnostic test at home that turned up problematic. I got her to her appointment in time even though the office was not where we thought it was.
After she got done we headed over to the casino for Breakfast. We were so close that it seemed like such a shame to waste the trip over. Besides the Breakfast is so good that it's hard to pass up at any time. And as usual, it was good and we enjoyed ourselves and our food immensely.
Sharon drove home and she took the scenic route again today. I must have been napping when she drove too far north on a particular road and couldn't get back to Gene Autry Trail which takes us back to Desert Hot Springs. It was a quick turn-around and then we were back on the right route. By the time we got back home it was around 11 and just in time to sit around and take it easy.
I thought I would print the Newsletter today but couldn't get the Black cartridge to consistently print.
Sharon took off after a while to go to town and do some shopping. I asked her to see if she could find a Black cartridge for the printer. She was gone for a couple of hours and came back complaining about her back. Apparently she had "shopped until she dropped". Or something like that. I didn't get my cartridge so I'll have to pick one up tomorrow.
When suppertime rolled around neither of us was hungry for anything. It didn't matter cause the cook wasn't planning to cook anything either. We would be just fending for ourselves later on this evening.
We didn't have any plans for the night so we would settle in front of the tube for the night. We managed to find a couple of decent shows until Sharon caved at 10. I found a couple of shows named Destroyed in Seconds to watch until 11 when I made my retreat and surrendered my weapons. It had been a pretty good day.

As soon as I got showered this morning I took off for Office Max to pick up a printer cartridge so I could get the Newsletters printed and sent out. Sharon gathered up the laundry, and I dropped her off on my way over to Palm Springs. I was back in about a half hour and printing as soon as I got back. I managed to get everything printed before lunch, and I was getting the last Newsletter printed Sharon was done with the laundry.
We did want to try the pool over here today, and when we went, had a very pleasant experience. The water was quite warm and we finished it off with a soak in the hot tub. We had to get back early cause Sharon was making BBQ Chicken Wings for supper tonight. She also floated a "trial balloon" of potato skins. It was all quite good. We even had a couple of slices of Garlic Bread, and a lot of 7 and 7's.
Phil called but the phone didn't ring. When I picked up the message he wanted us to call him back. We did almost immediately and he wanted to tell us about hooking up to Western Horizon Wi-Fi. We also discussed who would pick up whom (?) tomorrow for the VFW. We agreed that they would pick us up.
There were new shows on the Telly tonight for a change. It seemed like every show we like to watch had a new episode on tonight. So we actually had a night that we hadn't seen before. It was kinda nice for a change. Of course the 7 and 7's put Sharon into bed at 9, and I followed shortly afterward at 10.

Well, today is the day. We've waited 3 weeks for Taco Wednesday and it's finally arrived. The last two weeks the VFW wasn't serving any food on Wednesday and we missed out on tacos. We did, however, go to Del Taco last week and pick up our own tacos and took them back to the VFW and drank beer. That was almost as good, but we missed the ambiance.
Phil and Joyce picked us up at noon and we headed to the VFW. The ambiance I mentioned previously was there in full force. The 50/50 number hadn't been called yet, so we were looking for a place to sit down. We planted ourselves at the bar while we waited. We actually got a table before the number was called. That's never happened before. We ordered our food and drank our customary 4 pitchers of beer and then left to come home.
Phil and Joyce brought along their swimsuits to swim over here at Desert Pools instead of going back to Catalina. The water here was really nice yesterday, and we expect it to be just as nice today. As soon as we got back we headed for the pool and it was actually warmer than it was yesterday, or at least it seemed that way. Phil and Joyce stayed for an hour or so before they went home.
We came back home and I slithered into my recliner and promptly fell asleep. While I was napping Sharon took off for the grocery store to pick up a few items that we needed for the rest of the week. When I woke up she was gone and I didn't see the note she left me on top of the computer.
We were relegated to repeats on the TV for the night. It was either that or not watch anything at all for 4 hours. This is such a rotten time of the year for television.
We hung in there until 10 and then we both headed for the feathers.

As soon as we were both ready today we headed for Catalina Spa to check on our mail. I had some medication that was due in and didn't want it to sit there for longer than a day. Actually the lady in the mail room saw that it was perishable and put it in the refrigerator. That was a perfect solution.
We also stopped at Phil and Joyce's to drop off the Newsletter that I finished up this morning. We stayed for a little while even inviting them over to Desert Pools for swimming today. Phil was still checking online for scooters for me.
After lunch today we went to the pool and it was just as nice as it has been the last couple of days. Catalina is still at 85 degrees and when we got back on Sunday we may just have to bite the bullet and go into a "cold" pool. We won't have the option of choosing which pool we want to go into. We also set up a time for Phil and Joyce to pick us up tomorrow to go to the FMCA Rally in Indio.
By the time we came back home it was time for lunch and not long afterward we headed toward the pool. It didn't seem as warm as it was yesterday, but it was still nicer than the water over at Catalina. We saw Daphne in the pool and found out the name of the doctor doing acupuncture in the valley. I think I'm willing to try that as a solution to the pain I my leg. Since the surgery last summer didn't seem to make a difference, acupuncture might be the only thing left.
Tonight we were having the Steaks, that Sharon bought the other day, for supper. We were also planning to have Crab in Hollandaise Sauce but that didn't turn out so well. So we topped off the steaks with Baked Potato and Garlic Bread. It was very good anyway. We also topped off the meal with a bottle of wine from the St James Winery.
We settled in for TV for the rest of the night. It was all repeats so we opted for a couple of shows that we found on Discovery. They were repeats also but we hadn't seen them already.
About 10 to 8 tonight we felt what we thought was a tremor in the ground. (We asked Phil and Joyce in the morning and it was a quake whose epicenter was in Banning about 30 miles west of us. It was a 4.2 or so.) This is getting to be a regular thing every year.
At 10 we both crashed and burned and went to bed.

Phil and Joyce picked us up this morning to go to the FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association) Rally in Indio, CA. We left early so we'd be able to get a parking spot where we wanted one.
We went through the buildings when we first got there but I didn't find a sewer hose that I was looking for. We did find a bunch of freebies and candy that we helped ourselves to. We also found muffins of every variety that were split in half and we gobbled them up also. They were quite good.
We had to go through some of the motorhomes while we were here, or what was the point in coming. You always have to do it to see if you can find something you like better than what you have. We haven't seen anything we were willing to pay a hundred thousand dollars for, so we're happy with what we have. I still think that our next purchase will be a downsize. We'll have to wait and see.
Our next stop for the day was the free ice cream bars that were being given away by FMCA. We retreated from the motorhomes and went to the entertainment area for the ice cream. There was a ton of people already lined up and waiting by the time we got there. It didn't take long once they started handing out the bars though. Five minutes later we were eating.
After the Ice Cream Sharon and I went back into the vendor buildings, and Phil and Joyce headed for the motorhomes again. We met back at the entertainment area when we were both done.
We left the Fairgrounds and headed for In-N-Out Burger to have lunch. We all had a Double-Double with Fries. We managed to get into the restaurant with hardly anybody there. That's something that never happened before. It's usually so crowded that the line goes around the building.
After lunch we headed home to rest our weary bones. We were pretty much too late to go to the pool since we didn't get home til just before Jeopardy came on TV. We can't be readjusting our TV watching on the spur of the moment. In fact, we refuse to readjust our habits.
We were now settled in front of the box for the evening and would be fending for ourselves for supper tonight. We actually had soup and crackers and cheese together, separately. Boy that's a mouthful. We vegetated in front of the TV for the rest of the night until the bewitching hour. And then we bewitched into bed.

We had a day planned today that was going to take longer than we all expected. We picked up Phil and Joyce at 9 and headed for some yard sales today. Our first stop was Quail Valley RV Park for their patio sales. They usually block off the road so you can't drive in, but Phil talked them into it and I was allowed to drive the car in. It was a good thing because I would have been in pain and very disappointed to have walked through there. Next we went to Sparkling Waters with the same result. I figured if it took Phil. more than 15 seconds to look over the "stuff" I would get out of the car. I didn't get out of the car very often.
We came back to Catalina in the end because Sharon wanted to pick up Rada Knives. As it happened there was nobody selling them at the Clubhouse today. Next we headed back to Desert Pools to see if anybody was selling them in their clubhouse, and nobody was. We also picked up the phone number for Sam Goldman who was selling an electric scooter that I was interested in. We called him as we drove to Bermuda Dunes to see the scooter. We found his house with his directions and picked up the scooter as it was what I wanted. We didn't think it would fit in the trunk because we already had a bunch of stuff in there. But it fit just fine and we headed for home.
Our next stop was at McDonald's for burgers. It was getting past lunch and we all were hungry. It was a quick stop and then we headed for home, again.
Sharon wanted to catch up on some laundry so she gathered it up and went to the laundry room. I picked up all our stuff outside cause we would be moving back to Catalina tomorrow. By the time she got back she was upset because she had to wait for machines at the laundry. She wanted to make Potato Salad to eat along with our Sloppy Joes for supper. We decided on Mac and Cheese instead long with a salad of Beets and Onions in Italian Dressing.
Sharon took off for church tonight because she wanted to go to the College of the Desert shopping tomorrow. She still wanted to pick up the Rada Knives that she couldn't find today, and figured she could do that tomorrow morning while I'm getting the motorhome set up.
After Dinner tonight we settled in for some TV but all that was on was a football game that we really weren't interested in. We watched it anyway since there was nothing else on. After that a couple of repeats that were good were on and we watched them. We lasted until 10, and when the shows started repeating because of the East/West network thing, we turned the wagons south and headed to slumberland.

Today was a "move" day for us. We were headed back to Catalina Spa today for a couple of weeks before we head to Yuma for a couple. We got ready to go early since it didn't matter what time we checked in. Sharon stopped over to the office to get us registered and pay for the site and Wi-Fi. I had trouble getting the Wi-Fi working for no apparent reason. After rebooting the computer a couple of times it straightened itself out.
We got ourselves settled in early enough this morning to have Scrambled Eggs, Bacon and Biscuits and Gravy for Breakfast. Phil and Joyce stopped over just before we sat down to eat this morning. They were checking to see where we ended up today.
The weather has been continually warming up since the first of the month. It's actually a pleasure to be here now knowing that the sun will come up and it will be warm. Maybe I'm too critical, but we come here for the heat.
This afternoon we decided to bite the bullet and go to the pool. The water still wasn't warm but it was actually tolerable. Besides all our friends would be at the pool today. The Parents and Browns from Michigan arrived just a couple of days ago and we knew they would be there today. We were right, and they came about an hour after we arrived. We stayed til about 4 before we had a date with the food fairy.
For Supper tonight we had Potato Salad and Double Cheeseburgers. They were very good and "just plain food" so to speak. At 5 o'clock I was riveted in front of the TV for the debut of "24". It was a 2-hour beginning with all the twists and turns of the past shows. I missed the show immensely last year during the Writer's strike. But I guess that's the nature of the beast.
The rest of the night was spent surfing between networks trying to find something to watch. I must have been successful since we didn't watch any repeats tonight. Sharon went to bed at 9 for her puzzle and I hung in there til 10 before I folded up my tent.
