We were off to the casino this morning with the gang.  Jim, Jackie, Terry and Jo-Anne and, of course, us.  It would be our last casino Breakfast with this group for this year.  Jim and Jackie are leaving for Disneyland on Wednesday, and Terry and Jo-Anne will be heading for home on the same day.  Things will quiet down for us for a little bit on Thursday.
By the time we got home Sharon was thinking about a nap since she's still recovering from her cold, and I was just thinking about sitting and recovering from having a wonderful Breakfast for my $5.99.
At 2 o'clock we changed our clothes and headed toward Catalina and the swimming pool.  The water was very nice today and it showed by the number of people who made it to the water. If anybody had been fishing in that pool today, they could have snagged something.  It would have been badly "wrinkled" but it would have been on the hook.  With the weather just warming up nicely it seems a shame that the Palestinis' and the Bertaminis' are leaving for other locales.
We soaked until just before Jeopardy at 4 today, and then headed for home.  It wouldn't have been hard to turn on the air conditioning today but we held off for a while at least.  We would give up later tonight, but for now, we just didn't need it.
We took off for town to KFC tonight for Dinner since we didn't have our usual influx of chicken yesterday, when Sharon skipped church because of illness.  We decided we were going to have the Chicken Bowl Combo for tonight.  It was actually quite good and we both enjoyed it very much.  We also got an order of BBQued Wings since we didn't think the bowl would be enough to eat, but it surprisingly was.
We managed to make it home tonight in time for "24" at the early showing.  There is nothing on my agenda on Monday night except for "24" lately.  I say lately, but it's been years since I was introduced to it by an old friend Phil Bach.  Since that time I've managed to be in front of the TV every Monday night in time to catch the next episode.
By catching my "24" on the early showing I managed to catch everything I wanted to watch last night by 10.  After a little surfing, I surmised that the night's entertainment was now over.  I folded up my cheap tent, chased the clowns out of the arena, and headed for the padded room.

We were off to the Cottage Too with Terry and Jo-Anne this morning for their Special Breakfast.  Jim and Jackie had opted out when Terry asked yesterday in the pool.  This is kind of a last Breakfast since the Bertaminis and the Palestinis will be leaving tomorrow.  We'll be making our last move to Catalina tomorrow and then off to Casa Grande in two weeks.
On the way home, Sharon had to pick up a few things at Stater Brothers before having our friends over for Dinner tonight.
When Sharon got home she made up the Lasagna and the Raspberry-Topped Lemon Pie that's never made an appearance outside of our Thanksgiving table at home.  This was going to be a Cracker-Jack of a Dinner tonight.
At 2PM we headed in our usual direction toward the pool at Catalina.  We see a lot of new people in the pool now-a-days and they're either transients or people who just come to the valley late in the season.  We soaked in the water for our usual couple of hours and still made it back home in time for the end of Jeopardy.  The Tournament of Champions is on for the next couple of weeks so we can't answer many questions.  We manage a couple every now and then though.
At about 5 our Dinner guests started arriving.  Jim and Jackie came with fine wine from the Andretti Winery and Terry and Jo-Anne showed up with a shitload of Michelob beer.  They can't really take it back into Canada without paying duty on it, and they'll be there in a couple of days.  Their friend Bruce bought it when he was here, and Jo-Anne can't drink it all before she hits the border.
We would be having Lasagna, Salad and Garlic Bread for Dinner tonight and then top it all off with the Raspberry-Topped Lemon Pie.  It would be a very good Dinner indeed.
We had a very nice "final" get-together and everybody got ready to leave about 8 and we distributed our usual kisses and hugs and bade good-bye to all.
I plopped in front of the telly for the rest of the night.  There were a couple of my favorite shows still on for the night.  I had to catch them on my West networks but at least I didn't have to miss them altogether.
Sharon gave up the ghost at 10 and I stayed up a little later.  Sometimes I just can't go to bed that early.  I haven't had a nap during the day for weeks but I'm just not tired enough to go to the mattresses so soon.  Oh well another hour just doesn't matter anyway.

It was a lovely day out today and the weatherman says it will reach 90 degrees.  The wind has subsided for now and today is Taco Wednesday.  Life is good.
It was also our "move day" today so even though we got a late start it didn't take long to cover the single mile to Catalina Spa.  We were all set up and ready for the day by 10.  The first thing I did was get the satellite going and then log onto the Wi-Fi. We'll have two weeks of uninterrupted communications at least.
We left for Taco Wednesday at the VFW at our usual time today, but we had a different perspective on our visit.  We managed a seat in the first booth by the door and got to sit and watch the people for the time we were there.  It was quite an education just seeing the people come in with their many handicaps and eccentricities.  Our waitress forgot to bring us beer and then she forgot to bring us chips and salsa.  Man, sitting in the old folks area is really going to be tough on us.  It was a shame that we had no friends left to come with us today, but we were thoroughly entertained by the antics of the customers.
We got home about 2:30 and we changed and went immediately to the pool.  This is the time of the year when you hardly recognize anybody in the pool.  It seems like the transients move in and out faster than you can even talk to them.  We managed to only stay at the pool long enough so we didn't miss Jeopardy on TV.  Besides we wanted to get home where it was air conditioned cause the temp reached 92 at the final count today.  Temperatures are supposed to back to 70 by Sunday though.  At that point I'll be complaining about the cold weather.
We were on our own for Supper tonight since Sharon's been munching since she got home from the pool.  She also gathered up the laundry, after a short nap, and headed for the washers and dryers.  She was gone for a couple of hours in which I made very good use of my time by watching TV.  She doesn't want me to come with her when she does laundry or grocery shops anymore.  I guess she doesn't need the pain in the a- -.  And here I thought I was doing a good thing.
TV was pretty good tonight for a change.  Maybe it was because of the shows I like to watch.  A couple of my favorites were on.  We stayed up until 10 tonight.  We both headed for the feathers at the same time tonight.  It had been a long day even though it didn't seem like it until now.

I got up this morning and was suspecting that I was getting Sharon's cold.  By noon there was no mistaking the fact that it was here and it had a hold on me.  I didn't feel like doing anything today any way and now this was going to be worse.  I thought I might go outside and change the wiring on the car but couldn't muster the energy to do it.  A couple of weeks ago the wiring for the lights on the car got caught under the hitch and ruined two plugs for the wiring.
As the day wore on I started feeling worse and worse.  When Sharon took off for the pool I just sat in my recliner and took a nap.  The shock of Sharon going to the pool without me was enough to put me in my recliner anyway.  I'm the one who ALWAYS has to talk her into going.
By Suppertime I still wasn't budging far from my reclining position in front of the TV and it looked like I wasn't going very far even if I did.  The rest of the night was devoted to napping and reclining and even a little watching of the TV.  But doing anything constructive was out of the question.
By the time 10 rolled around I couldn't wait to get between the sheets.  Sharon had no interest in staying up any later either.

We were off to the Chiropractor again this morning for my usual adjustment.  She's been fixing all my aches and pains for the last two months.  She's also done my Acupuncture that we were hoping would take care of my back.  It's helped my back somewhat but I think the adjustments I've been getting over the past 3 weeks or so have helped even more.
Since we hadn't had anything to eat before we left home this morning, we stopped at Jack in the Box for a Breakfast Burrito before we continued on with our day.
After Jack in the Box we headed up to Idyllwild, California which is up in the mountains behind Palm Springs.  A trip that we had been meaning to take for a few years but never got around to it.  It would be a several hour trip even though it was only about 60 miles from Catalina Spa.  It took us about an hour and a half to get up there.  After we arrived we drove around for about an hour and stopped in a few shops, including a T-Shirt shop where I made my purchase.  We stopped at the Red Kettle for lunch and had a good time with the local folk.  The waitress steered us onto the work of the local artist carving a totem pole with his chain saw.  A very impressive piece of work.
After a ride through the rest of the town we headed back toward home.  This experience had been a good one and we were sorry it had taken so long.  It took another hour before we rolled into the campground with a deed well done.
Sharon took off for the pool by herself since I was pretty much spent since my cold was still with me.  I decided that I would have a nap while she was gone.
When she got back she said everyone was wondering where I was. That was only natural since everyone knows that Sharon doesn't like the water or the pool.  So when she shows up by herself there's cause for concern.
After our lunch I wasn't hungry for Supper.  In fact I decided to cook myself up some popcorn in the micro.  But as usual that really didn't cut the mustard, but I didn't feel like anything else for the night.
TV for the night was horrible.  We usually watch CBS as a general rule with a little Fox thrown in.  Tonight CBS was carrying March Madness and if you don't like Basketball you're out of luck.  We were out of luck so we searched the off channels for the night.
By the time 10 rolled around I was certainly ready for bed.  I had had a busy day and was ready to just fall down into the bed.

Sharon had a tough time sleeping last night for any one of a number of reasons, so this morning she was sleeping late.  But at 10:30 I was wondering if she was still alive.  But alive she was, and she got up smiling.
After she got up she gleefully went for her walk. The wind was just starting to blow again this morning and she lost her visor while she was walking.  The weather is supposed to be colder by tomorrow morning, so I think a walk will be out of the question.  The wind is also supposed to pick up more by tomorrow.
We mostly just sat around until it was time to go to the pool at 2 o'clock.  When we got there it was empty except for Daphne.  Surprisingly the pond filled up almost immediately after we got there.  We stayed for a couple of hours until we were wrinkled beyond the normal aging process and then came home.  We watched a little TV and then Sharon decided that she would go to church tonight instead of tomorrow morning.  Besides the Pork Chops she was planning on cooking weren't thawed out yet.  So I guess I have another reprieve of at least a day before I have to choke those babies down.
Sharon would stop at Stater Brothers grocery store and pick up some Fried Chicken and Potato Logs on the way home.  We also needed a couple of other items that she would pick up also.
I was still washing the dishes by the time she got home.  I would have been done had I started a little earlier, but that's another story.  Besides I didn't want to do it until the last minute.  By the time she got the table set and was ready to eat I was finished.
We sat down to Fried Chicken and Potato Logs and they were both very good.  After Supper we only had a few dishes to do to get us caught up and we did them right after we ate.
It was Saturday night and the slim pickens' on the TV for the night were just that.  We couldn't find a thing that was worth watching.  We surfed until bedtime and still didn't find a decent program to watch.  Maybe our dreams will provide something to entertain us for the night.

The wind blew all day yesterday and all night last night.  And this was not just a gentle breeze that wafted through the trees, but rather an almost hurricane force destructive wind that whistled through the campground knocking branches off the trees.  We wouldn't be budging far from home today since we didn't need anything that would require us to go shopping.
Sharon whipped up French Toast with Bacon for Breakfast this morning, and that kept us from worrying about lunch today.  Actually the French Toast was very good and lunch was the furthest thing from our minds.
Sharon knitted on Stella's Poncho today until it was finished.  She started a couple of nights ago but had to rip it all out when she suspected she did it wrong.  Last night she got going again and finished it up today.  It was quite cute indeed.
I had to go out and check a few items on the car when the lights came on yesterday when Sharon went to church.  I put a quart of oil and some Antifreeze and window washing fluid in.  It must have lit up like a Christmas Tree when she turned it on last night.  I got everything taken care of even in the wind.
We were witnessing RV's leaving the park today and wondering if they were actually going out on the highway or just moving to someplace close by.  I can't even imagine trying to drive any distance whatever in this wind.
The wind was also playing hell with my new dish today.  It was bad enough to hook up the park cable and watch TV that way for tonight.  For a practical matter it didn't really make any difference since Sunday nights are another famous "nothing" night for TV.
We just barely managed to hang in there until 10 tonight.  Combined with the wind, was the fact that there was nothing on TV, and the selection of channels that we had were minimal to say the least.  It was just bleak enough to wish that tomorrow was going to be a better day all around.
