I got up this morning and after typing my Journal I headed over to the exercise room to do my bike riding and exercises before Breakfast.  I could tell by 8 that today was going to be one "hot momma" today.  They were shampooing the carpet in the exercise room so only half the room was open.  No matter it was enough room for me.  I headed out for my walk right after I rode the bike and got everything finished before the heat of the day set in.
We left this morning to have Breakfast at J.B.'s in town.  They have a nice little Buffet for a very reasonable price.  The food was very good.  After we left there we had mail to pick up and we wanted to stop at the Bakery Thrift Store to see what they had there.  The Bakery was obviously not having their delivery day today because a lot of the shelves were empty.  It wasn't important cause we just wanted to check it out for this weekend when we leave here.
We got home after lunch and got a call from Corky and Deb saying they were coming over this afternoon to say good-bye and they were bringing Jack and Rosann with them.  Both of them are leaving on Wednesday.  Jack and Rosann will be leaving early in the morning and Corky and Deb will be going the same way but later in the morning.  They're both going up through Flagstaff.  They could both run into snow this early in the year.
They stayed over this afternoon until almost suppertime.  I was planning on having my leftover ribs from Lil Abner's along with leftover Rigatoni, and Sharon was going to have our leftover steaks from last night.  We were both satisfied with our offerings for dinner.
By the time we got done drinking this afternoon it didn't really matter what was on TV for the night.  We weren't going to be watching It anyway.  I sat in my recliner with my eyes closed and Sharon took off for bed at 8.  I joined her at about 9 and had a lousy night all night.

Sharon got up and went for her walk this morning but I didn't.  I was still recovering from all the liquor we had last night.  I was lucky to be alive.  And it didn't get much better for the rest of the day.  Man, I know better than that too.
The temperature was going to be in the high 90's today so it was going to be another air-conditioning day again today.  The weather for the last couple of days has been scorching.
After Breakfast Sharon took off and went shopping for the Grandkids.  We haven't really found anything for them yet.  We've been to a couple of Flea Markets and haven't been able to find anything for them.  By the time she got back it was lunchtime and she picked up a couple of Double Quarter Pounders with Cheese for our lunch.  She also found a couple of items for the kids
We both settled in for a nap this afternoon.  It was a fitting cap for the day we had yesterday.  Besides we haven't really gone to the pool since we've been here.  It's usually a little cooler than we're used to, but with this weather it would probably be perfect.
By suppertime Sharon had decided that she would grill some Kielbasa for tonight.  I peeled up some potatoes and onions and threw them in the frying pan.  We also had some baked beans and all was very good.  Sometimes you just have to have something out of the ordinary to pique your taste buds.
After supper we settled in front of the TV for a couple of new shows.  Neither of us actually felt like doing anything extra-curricular so we settled down each with our respective remote controls and watched TV for the night.  We both lasted until 10:30 tonight before we rolled up the carpets and locked the door and headed for the slumber shack.

I got up this morning and after writing my Journal I resumed my exercise "program."  Although the Exercise Room was closed today while they finished shampooing the carpet.  I just continued on my walk and when I got back home I did my exercises.  I was enough to loosen me up for the day.
When Sharon got up she took off on her walk and when she got back we made plans to go over and see Jayce Dale, our friend from home in Iron Mountain.  She's in Las Colinas RV Resort over on Sunland Gin Road near Arizona City.
The temperature today was rather mild considering the last 3-4 days.  But it was still in the high 80's.  Corky and Deb and Jack and Rosann would be leaving today headed in the direction of home. (Eagle River, WI) It'll take Corky and Deb a while to get there while Jack and Rosann will be driving their guts out to get home.  They have to get back for work.
After lunch we took off in the car to go over to see Jayce for awhile.  We got there and the gate was locked.  Apparently they've been having trouble with thieves lately.  In any event we stayed for about an hour and a half before we finally got in the car and came home.
Jerry and Mary called as soon as we got home to ask if we were still on for tonight.  We told them yes and we would be going to the Elks Club to eat supper tonight.  It would only be Burgers and Fries but it's a nice little sandwich.  And we would drink a few pitchers of beer before we were done.
We got home about 8 and previously we were thinking about going over to the Karaoke Bar where Jayce goes tonight.  But I guess we decided that we had had enough to drink for one night.  In fact we started watching Criminal Minds and I fell asleep in my chair for about the first half hour of the show.  I woke up in time to catch the full episode of CSI New York before I finally caved and went to bed.  By this time Sharon was already making zzzz's for the night.

The exercise room was closed again today so I went for my walk and then came back home and did my exercises.  Forty heel raises and twenty shallow squats later and I was sitting in the sun working on my tan.
After Sharon went for her walk and after we got showered up we were off to Breakfast at Golden Corral this morning before we arrived at an empty parking lot and a closed building.  Unbeknownst to us, Golden Corral does not do Breakfast in Casa Grande Except on Saturday and Sunday. So we drove up and down Florence Boulevard until we spotted Denny's.  Denny's had a Breakfast now where you "Build your own Slam."  It was very good and it was the first time we got out of Denny's for less than $18.
By the time we got back home it was already starting to warm up.  Although the wind was blowing today to keep everything relatively cool.  This would be a partial "get ready to go" day today.  I got busy on the bugs all over the front of the motorhome when I finally decided to do something today.  It was quite a mess and took well over an hour to get the front clean.  I had to come inside and get out of the sun on one break in the action.
By the middle of the afternoon Sharon had decided that she was going to try out a new recipe on my tonight.  It was going to be Baked Breaded Pork Chops with Red Potatoes and Creamed Corn.  It was all very good even though Pork Chops are never one of my favorites.  Although, if I intend to eat, I'd better eat what she decides to cook.
After Supper we settled in front of the TV in our usual positions.  There was nothing new on tonight so we just surfed until we found something we were interested in.  It didn't take long to get bored and it turned into a long night indeed.

The Exercise Room was closed again today so it looks like I won't get in there again before we leave here tomorrow.  I can still do my walk and leg exercises without actually riding the stationery bike.
Sharon also went for her walk this morning and dropped off the garbage on her way.  We both got back about the same time.  I can't walk as fast as her so we walk separately together.
After showering and cleaning up I decided to start putting things away outside.  I had already washed the windshield and gotten that taken care of.  What a mess since we left California.  I had also washed the front of the motorhome while I was at it and that took some doing also.
I would be dumping the holding tanks this morning getting ready for tomorrow.  While I was at it I disconnected all our utilities so I wouldn't have to do it at the last minute.  The only thing I left was the Electric.
Sharon suggested that we go to Long John Silver's for lunch today since we could get fish on Friday there.  We were mildy surprised to find out that they had Lobster Bites here.  We had tasted them last year in Alamagordo, NM but they didn't have them here.  So, needless to say, that's what we had for lunch today.  I was also going to have a Caramel Apple Empanada for dessert but we forgot to order it at the cashier's so I just didn't have it.  It really didn't matter since I was content after eating the Lobster Bites Combo.
We stopped at the Bakery Thrift Store on the way home to see if they had any good desserts we could pick up for the next couple of days, but we didn't find a thing we couldn't live without.  We actually had to stop at Safeway also so we just picked up a few things while we were there.
After we got back home we expected a call from Jerry and Mary to let us know they were stopping over this afternoon or tonight to say good-bye.  When we ate out with them on Wednesday at the Elks we just assumed they would be coming over tonight.  They hadn't called by 7 so Sharon gave them us buzz.  Mary said after teaching her class today she just came home and crashed.  She taught in school this morning.  They decided they wouldn't be coming over, but that was okay since we had seen them several times since we got here.  They invited us over there but I didn't feel like budging tonight either.  Sharon said our "good-byes" and we went back to watching TV.
We just barely made it to 10 tonight before we gave up and just fell into bed.  We'll be up early tomorrow to get the final arrangements settled before we head out to Benson, AZ.

Saturday, April 19, 2008

We left Casa Grande this morning and drove straight to Benson about two hours to the south and east.  We drove through construction almost all the way through Tucson.  It was over cast when we started out but by the time we got to Benson it was sunny and starting to warm up.
We got settled into our site at the Red Barn RV Resort and jumped in the car and headed out toward Tombstone.  We had been to Tombstone several times and we just wanted to take it in another time.  When we got there the streets were empty except for a few tourists, and of course, the gunfighters.  A new thing in town were the barricades that sealed off the main street.  You were still able to cross over at the end of the block but not drive down the main street.
We stopped at Big Nose Kate's Saloon for lunch and a couple of beers.  Of course the waitresses were dressed in old time garb that had they're boobs pushed up as high as they would go.  Sharon had to have my picture taken with one of them.
We were gone for about3 hours by the time we got back home.  On the way back was the noticeable absence of the Border Patrol station halfway to Tombstone.  All evidence of it were completely gone.  The station had been there for several years, almost since we've been coming out this way. (10 years)
Back at home we settled into our respective nap positions while Sharon waited to go to church this afternoon.  She left at 4:30 and would be stopping when she got out at the store for a DiGiorno Pizza.  After she got home she made a couple of phone calls while we waited for the pizza to be ready.
We settled in front of the TV for the night.  There were no new shows on tonight but the repeats were good shows.  We both lasted until 10 before we finally left this world behind and went to snoozerland.

Sunday, April 20, 2008

We had nothing to do today except cook a nice Breakfast for ourselves.  When Sharon got up we managed to get out the Ham and Sausage from the freezer and cook up the Eggs, Hash Browns and Toast.  It was all very exceptional to say the least.
After Breakfast we just sat around and digested our food until the neighbors came over and wanted to visit.  They were two couples from Lower Michigan who were traveling together.  Sharon was on the phone when they stopped over so she told them we would stop over when she was done.
We went over after a while and sat and talked with them for about an hour or so.  The wind was blowing this afternoon so we plugged our Seinfeld DVD's in and watched that for the afternoon.  We watched them until suppertime when the wind died down enough to get back on the satellite again.  We just mostly watched TV for the night until 10 and then headed off for bed.
We'll be heading out in the morning to New Mexico and stopping tomorrow night in Deming, after a couple of mandatory stops along the way.
