We both slept until noon.  By the time we got showered and ready to go we didn't have anywhere to go.
Sharon went to the grocery store and picked up a shitload of groceries.  I stayed home so I wouldn't impede her progress.
The rest of the day we spent napping and watching the Telly.  There wasn't anything on that we needed to stay awake for anyway.

We hadn't intended to move very far today, except to go to JB's for their Buffet Breakfast.  It is supposed to be Double Discount day for Senior Citizens on Tuesdays, but we saw a sign on the way in that said discounts were Monday thru Friday now.  Damn, if we had known that yesterday we could have gone there then.  Oh well.
After Breakfast we came back home to avoid the rain and cold that was prevalent today.  Our site is right next to the pool and there are no brave souls interested in dipping into the water this morning.  Even though I've been cleared to go into the pool for weeks I have no interest in braving it yet.  It's hard to get out of my sweatsuit long enough to actually get in the water.
We stopped at the Post Office on the way home to pick up stamps for the January Newsletter.  After printing it today I will fold them up and get them ready to mail.  It's also time to get busy on the February Letter.  I haven't got any stories ready for writing yet, but sometimes they come all at once.  By early afternoon I had the Letters all ready to go with stamps and all.
Sharon made Tacos for supper tonight.  She had bought some White Corn Tortillas that she was very disappointed with.  By the time we heated them up they were really crumbly.  But we managed to hold them together and the tacos turned out to really hit the spot.  We had a couple of beers to wash them down the old tube.  Anything you can drink beer with is a good meal.
TV would be the entertainment of choice for tonight.  We surfed back and forth to see the results of Super Tuesday Primaries and were disappointed in the news.  I don't know what's happened to the Republican Brain, but it isn't functioning this year.  I've already decided that if John McCain is the Nominee this year I won't cast a Presidential ballot in the Fall.  Let's see what chance he has of winning without the votes of the Conservatives that still have their sense about them.

The weather is supposed to warming up all this week until Sunday when it's supposed to be in the high 70's.  It'll be a blessing not to have to use LP at night.  It's just too cold for the little heater to handle.
As soon as I got showered this morning I took off for the Post Office to mail out the Newsletters.  It would be the second time I've actually driven since the leg broke, except for driving the motorhome from Desert Pools to Catalina.  That was about a mile down the road.
By the time I got back it was lunchtime and I heated up the leftover Fried Chicken we had the other night.  Safeway's Chicken isn't as good as Wal-Mart's but it was still okay.  The Potato Logs were still very good.  Sharon "built" herself a lettuce salad with Tuna, and it was huge.
Later in the afternoon Sharon went to Safeway to do some incidental shopping.  We needed a few items and I told her to pick up some donuts too.  She told me I didn't need them but I think she'll pick them up anyway.
She got back just in time to get ready to go to the Elks Club for supper tonight.  Jerry and Mary Milan had invited us to go with their group.  They had about 7 people going already and we suggested that we meet them down there.  We left about 5 to join the group, and we enjoy having dinner with them on Wednesdays.  After having our Cheeseburger and Fries and a couple of pitchers of suds we came back home.
Our usual Entertainment, TV, would be on the agenda for tonight.  There was, as usual, at least one new show on tonight.  But the repeats were good the first time around so I didn't mind so much.  We hung in until 10 before the "sleep fairy" took over.

I got up early this morning having had a lousy night's sleep last night.  I quietly watched TV until Sharon got up.  She got up with a mission, and showered and got ready and headed out with the laundry early.  She told me that the laundry room is really busy here and they're really fussy about taking more than 2 machines at one time.
She got 2 washers right away and came back and picked up her third load.  By the time she finished, it was just after noon and the towels were still a little damp.  She rigged a "Ghetto Curtain" in the bedroom and draped the towels over it.  They were dry in a couple of hours.  I hate it when I see that in anybody's motorhome, and this was the first time that she has done it.
We haven't done much this winter because of me, so we made a couple of plans today.  Sharon had found a 16-plex theater on Florence Boulevard with a few good movies playing before we leave on Sunday.  I had researched the Tom Mix Death Site which was turned into a Rest Area several years ago.  We've only got a couple of days left here until we head to Yuma, but we'll see if we can take in a couple of things in the meantime.
Sharon grilled up thick Pork Chops for supper tonight.  One of my favorites. (sarcasm) She also had a Salad for us and Garlic laced Ciabatta Bread toasted on the Grill.  It was all really quite good.  We also had a couple of nectars to wash the whole thing down the pipes.  I moan and groan about meals that I don't especially care for, but they always seem to turn out pretty good.
We sat and watched the tube again tonight and the offerings were no better than they have been over the past month or so.  Probably the reason why we decided that we needed a plan for some varied entertainment pretty soon or we'll go buggy and shack happy.  Sharon caved at9 tonight and I followed at 10.  We've been sleeping together again since we came back from Iron Mountain.  That in itself feels a lot like normal.

We had a plan this morning as we rousted ourselves out of bed.  Not too early but we did get up and ready before our usual time.  Our day was going to start at the Café Grande.  We have never been there before, but we wanted to try it out today.  We had assumed it was a regular restaurant but it turned out to be a "little" café with an extensive Greek menu.  We had wanted to try their Breakfast Specials and we both had French Toast.  The French Toast was nothing special and in fact it was a little tasteless and the coffee was a little bitter.  It was okay but not a Breakfast that was going to last me for today.
After Breakfast we drove off to find the "Tom Mix Death Site."  It was a Rest Area that had been designated as such because it was the location of Tom Mix's car accident back in 1940.  He died before I was born but a friend of mine, Bob Dale, who has since passed away, told us about it several years ago.  He would be happy knowing I had made the effort to go there.  It was only about 30 miles from our campground, 16 miles south of Florence, Arizona, and located in a virtual grove of Saguaro and Cholla Cacti.  It was a very pretty area, even though it was all desert.
On our way back to Casa Grande we stopped at Burger King for a little nourishment and then decided we would go to the movies since it was still early.  There were a couple of movies at the brand new 16-plex movie theater on the east side of I-10 that we really wanted to see.  "The Bucket List" was our selection since I thought Sharon would enjoy that one the most.  And as a matter of fact, we both enjoyed it very much.  It was a movie for old people however, since I don't think younger people will really understand it.
We came home after the movie and it was still early.  We rolled into the campground about 4 and sat down to some TV before supper.  It wouldn't be much just Hot Dogs and Beans and a BBQ sauce to put on the hot dogs.  It did however, hit the spot.
TV was on the agenda for tonight and there were a couple of shows that were on that we had seen already but they were still good the second time around.  In fact we hung in there until 11 watching a show on Discovery about Truck Stops.  Who would've thought?

Today would be a "get ready to move" day.  We'll be moving tomorrow but we don't need to be fooling around tomorrow with our chores.
Sharon took off to do some grocery shopping for a couple of things that we'll need this week.  By the time she got back I had already started to take care of a few things.  I had the oil on the motorhome checked and I had started to fill the water tank.  We wanted some good water in the tank for our sidetrip to Borrego Springs on our way back to Desert Hot Springs.  When Sharon got back we put the towbar back on the car.  We had removed it when we left the car parked in Mesa for 10 days last week.  We also needed to dump the holding tanks today so we wouldn't have to fool around with that tomorrow morning either.  We finished up all our chores by lunchtime and then just sat around the rest of the afternoon.
Before Sharon left for church she put Chicken and Rice in the oven for supper.  It's actually chicken and Celery soup Risotto.  It's one of my favorite ways to eat chicken.  We eat it so often that we need variety.
There wasn't much on TV tonight except repeats but we managed to find something to watch all night until 10.  We actually heard on the news tonight that the writer's strike might be settled.  It won't matter cause we still won't get any new shows this year.  And of course the deal hasn't been ratified yet either so it'll be awhile before we see anything new.

We were rolling this morning just before 9.  It was going to be at least a 3 hour trip to Yuma, and longer, before we get settled into our campsite.  We stopped at the first Rest Area to have the Blueberry Muffins that Sharon picked up yesterday at Safeway.  She didn't feel like actually stopping, so we just paused long enough to get he muffins cut, buttered and a cup of coffee poured and then we were on the road again.
It was an uneventful ride in pretty flat country until we reached the Yuma Foothills.  As we passed through Dateland we remembered my Uncle who used to live there several years ago.  We still don't know what the attraction was since he was a businessman in Chicago before that.  Dateland is a pretty isolated spot in the middle of the desert.  As we crested the foothills "climb" we knew our shortcut, Fortuna Road was not far off.  We were now only about 15 minutes from the campground.
We arrived and got settled into our site at Yuma Lakes Campground without any trouble.  Fifteen minutes later we were trying to cool off the motorhome.  The weather had finally turned warm and without turning on the AC we managed to get the place cooled down.
We ate lunch and then Sharon took off to find the local newspaper.  All the papers were sold out so she picked up all the freebies instead.  There would be enough reading in those for the day.  In fact they're huge compared to the ones at Desert Hot Springs.
With the weather turning out so nice we spent some of the afternoon sitting outside and cocktailing the day away.  About 5, the sun went down and it started cooling off so I called it quits.  Only to continue our cocktailing inside the motorhome.  Sharon decided that tonight would be "Burger on the Grill" night tonight.  That was fine with me although I would have been just as happy with the leftover Chicken and Rice from last night.
We ate late tonight so we wouldn't have to endure much on TV for the night.  And we actually watched a couple of hours of "cops" on TruTV tonight.  By the time that was over, I caught an episode of Seinfeld and then something else on Discovery before 10 and the bewitching hour.  It didn't take us long to sail our ships into the harbor.
